I had high hopes for this place as a beginner woodworker looking to advance my skills, but…read moreunfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The orientation was helpful, and the hand-tool instructor who taught it was welcoming and supportive, which I appreciated. However, beyond orientation, I quickly realized that this space is geared towards people who already have considerable experience with the specific machines. Beginners like me are expected to know how to operate everything or invest in multiple paid classes before being allowed to use key equipment. During my visits, I was made to feel unwelcome and unprepared despite my efforts to learn and follow safety guidelines. On my first day, I was questioned about the design choices of my project and left feeling judged. When I asked for help configuring the router table, I was told an instructor would have to be present each time I used it, which limits my ability to use in the future without causing problems. I was also repeatedly interrupted while using and trying to learn the machines, told I was unsafe, and eventually asked to leave due to the arrival of scheduled classes. I decided to follow the owner's advice to come on a less busy day, she said that Friday wasn't as busy. Two weeks later on a Friday, I was told I needed more classes before I could proceed with my project as I put the wood on the table. This was frustrating since I was there precisely to learn how to square lumber using the shop's equipment, which I was told even by the owner, that it was the first step. While I understand the need for safety and structure, this place did not meet my expectations as a community woodworking space welcoming to beginners. It feels more like a paid class environment that discourages those new to the craft unless they commit to multiple paid sessions. I hope the owner considers clearer communication upfront about expectations for new users. For anyone new to woodworking looking to gain hands-on experience independently, I would recommend exploring other options.

So, I found this place by searching Google as I looked for a workshop that could teach me about various tools to use in some basic DIY carpentry projects. I had never used a table saw or a chop saw before this class, nor had I understood the difference. I came away feeling a little more knowledgeable and a little more empowered to tackle some small 'to dos'. Whether you have zero knowledge of how to cut and work with wood, or if you are an expert, this place has services and plans that can help you to accomplish a lot of your projects. You can take a class, buy a 10-hour punch card, come for a day, or even get consultations on how to approach projects. Erin and her staff are expertly positioned to assist.

I'm 7+ months pregnant and I like to make date-night for me and the partner. He loves art. He's…read moregood at art. I see this ad on Meta for this venue. I think, "this is something I can handle and would make for a great date-night!!!" I log on, book a spot, and it's super easy. I get a call from Jeff the day before reminding me of the night, asking if it's a special occasion because I booked the "date" night with chocolates and whatnot, and Jeff is asking if there is anything extra he can do to make our night a blast-- I'm already loving this place and I'm not even there. Jeff tells me to call if we get lost, come 15-30 mins early to "prep our canvas," let's me know how it works & what to wear, and makes me feel like I'm in good hands. Date night arrives. We get there 17mins early (because Garcia's Kitchen was calling our names we got delayed). We are met with open arms. Jeff goes through the canvases (we do the upsell for $10 each on a nicer canvas for each of us). I also get a decal put on mine. The partner sits and does his pre-crafts. Jeff brings us drinks (one for free with the package I got-- in the future it is BYOB and we will be taking advantage of that). We get dressed in our Walter White outfits. Jeff walks us through how it works inside. Tells us to go HAM (even on the suits or walls). We pair to the Bluetooth. Then we are off to the date. Dipped pretzels, chocolates, fresh fruit and the mood is set! We eat, we laugh, we get paint on our face, we make ART! It was so nice. They didn't rush us out. They accommodated my pregnancy. They were kind, helpful, listened, educated, and allowed us to just enjoy ourselves. The package I ordered (room to ourselves, date night, canvas upgrades, decal upgrade) was about $90. We threw a nice tip on it as well because they allowed us to stay a little longer bc I obviously move slow at this size. 10/10 recommend. It was a blast, especially for date-night. You can also do baby-showers, birthday parties, and so much more here: it's full on crafts not just paint.

SO. MUCH. FUN! We bought a couples package that included…read moresome snacks, an hour in a paint room and lots of paint! Not only was the painting itself a blast but there were all these little details that made our experience great. I mentioned the snacks but it was actually a little dessert platter and some drinks. One of my favorite things was that they let us connect our music to their system while we painted which made it that much more memorable. Oh, and the plastic onesie and booties we painted in were perfect to keep our clothes clean-ish while we got to splatter each other with paint. Whether it's a couple, or a family or a big group this is a great place to get together and have a good time. We'll be back!
