Dr Graham, our favorite vet , once again explained everything thoroughly and took about an hour of his day going over possible causes options for treatment. Charley was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy and we are so relieved that's all it is. Dr Graham is the best and we truly love and trust him with our pets.

Didn't like that. 1/2 later the doctor spoke to us about his condition. I don't feel like he explained everything to us well. That there are meds the cat could have taken. He had no personality and didn't have an optimistic demeanor. Everything was presented like it wasn't worth the trouble. We asked questions but he didn't offer positive solutions. He made it sound like if you do this you will need to keep the cat here for three days, see a cardiologist, then he'd be on three meds a day. The groups I belong to are wondering "why we didn't fight harder" and my only answer is the vet gave up on us and on the cat. There was no: "here's what we can do, let's try this!" The demeanor was he's doomed, don't waste your time. We did the best we could to feel confidence in him, but we don't think he was the right person to handle our cat. Maybe someone that was more proactive, motivated and didn't leave such a feeling of doubt in us as we walked away empty handed would have been a better experience. Also compounding this with a $1,200 invoice as we walked away without our beloved baby. All of it a terrible experience. The only saving grace was the young lady who handled the paperwork. I wonder what other pet owners think of that doctor.

As we were going to get into the car I noticed that the driveway was blocked by a utility truck. I was…read morewarned not to use this kennel by another kennel/vet who they have a family connection with. My dog was returned to me wit two puncture wounds in her rear thigh. She was still bleeding and the owner of the kennel said nothing to me but acknowledged it when I called. This business appears to wipe or clean up Google reviews too (check Yelp for accurate reviews). She tried blaming the wounds on my other dog a Collie. They have roomed together at three other Kennels and live together now for over 7 years. This has never happened before! I will get to the bottom of this and expose any unsafe practices. I also thought it was odd that they requested cash only. UPDATE: Owners called me today yelling at me telling me saying that I was a bad pet owner and told me that I hurt my dog since I did not bring my dog back to them after picking her up. They refuse to take responsibility for this injury. My daughter and I witnessed the injury on their property in our SUV. They are trying to blame the injury on us saying that it happened after our dog left. They tried offering me a refund and to pay for the veterinarian bill but I want nothing to do with these people. The fact is that they knew about the injury and said nothing to us. I will file a complaint with the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement under the PA Department of Agriculture.

After struggling for a while we knew it was time to send our cat over the Rainbow Bridge, from our home. She had facial cancer and was having difficulty eating consistently. We had gotten recommendations to call Moontide. Our cat was an indoor only cat who got stressed when put in a carrier so home was best. We had an appointment for 11am and the morning was planned out to enable us to prepare, spend some quiet time with our girl, and then closer to 11am we'd quietly pick her up and take her into the bathroom, a smaller area recommended by the vet so she couldn't hide. (She was not a pickup cat and any time she sensed being picked up she'd run and hide- under a bed, in the basement, under a couch. We communicated this to the vet beforehand.) We understood the assignment from the vet. Unfortunately that was not clear to her. At 10:30 am while my husband was still on a work call and I was getting dressed, the doorbell rang. Twice. At this point, our girl ran and hid in a panic. She was previously a rescue and while we had her in our home for 8 years she was still skitzy with noises, strangers, and things like the doorbells. I texted the vet and asked if she was at the door. She was. She said she was "early". In hindsight I should have asked her to come back at 11am as scheduled. That was a mistake on my part that I will never forgive myself for. I yelled to my husband that the vet was here, early. I let her into my kitchen. She made no apologies for being early nor did she show any compassion about it. I explained to her that we needed time now to try to grab our girl with a blanket, as she was running up the stairs and then down into the basement trying to hide. My husband got her and brought her into the bathroom and closed the door. At this point I was in tears. We had no quiet time beforehand. Getting her into the bathroom was stressful. It didn't need to be. The vet gave her a shot to calm her and while she tried to walk around the small bathroom in a panic she fell and stumbled from the calming meds. It was painful to watch. All I remember is seeing the panicked scared cornered look in her eyes. While this was happening, again, not an ounce of compassion. No "I know how hard this is." No "I'm sorry I was early, I can come back at our scheduled time." No "Rey will be at peace." After the meds took hold and she could not walk, we bundled her up, brought her to another room, sat with her while the euthanasia meds were put into her vein. Once that was done it was a matter of minutes. I will never forget the look of fear in her eyes in that bathroom. I will never forget how we had to grab her and throw a blanket over her to get her to the bathroom because she was panicked and we were caught off guard at the vet being 30 minutes early. If I could go back and repeat that day, I would have not only told the vet to come back at the scheduled time, but I would have chosen someone else. To add insult to injury, we had a scheduled day to have the ashes dropped off to our house. I saw a car leaving my driveway and a box was left at our door. It was a few days earlier than our scheduled date so I was not so surprised when I opened the box and saw that someone else's pet's remains were left at our door. I texted her, She came back to pick them up and dropped off ours off a few days later on our doorstep. It was the most impersonal, non-empathetic, non-compassionate experience I've had with having to send a pet over the rainbow bridge. The first two were at a vet's office and while I did not want to do that, it was at least a peaceful non-stressful experience. If you've read this far, thank you. I hope you are never in this position.

I called Lap of Love, and within a couple of hours Dr. Kaitlin showed up at my door. From the moment she arrived, she was very empathetic and caring towards both Dylan and myself. Though the process was difficult, she made it easier for us with her compassion and gentle touch. Having the option for a home visit made our girl's last moments calm and full of familiarity and love. We could not have asked for a more supportive team from the time of her passing to the cremation and delivery of her ashes. I will add that they did not have same-day appointments specifically on the weekend, but this is to be expected in any business. They made it work so we could still send our girl over the rainbow bridge before she suffered.
