Had my hair cut with highlights. After my cut of-course they try to sell you products. I bought some products bc before I got there I seen a coupon and really needed product anyway. Went to check out and the owner checked me out. I told him about the coupons I seen online, mind you that he put online. he made me feel like I was lying when I told him about the coupons again that he posted on their site. She is super sweet and does an awesome job. I highlight/balayage my hair and I feel like she definitely does what she can to minimize the damage bleach can do to fine hair like mine. It has been over 2 months since I had my hair done this last time and although it will soon be time to return, my hair color has grown out great and still looks really good. If I could give 100 stars I would. Daniel took my hair from grown out faded and about 4 different shade of green to this beautiful blue and purple melt. He mixed custom colors out for me and perfectly lifted and covered the green. My hair feels amazing and like it was never lightened at all. Daniel made me feel comfortable with the drastic change and keep me a part of the creative process so I always knew what he was doing. It doesn't feel like you're at a salon, but rather hanging out at a friend's house. Now, I've got pretty wavy hair and I'm incredibly picky about it. I've had some great stylist in the past but I've almost always hated what they've done with my hair. I tried to be as specific as possible with my likes/dislikes, and I told Gingy that I'm often disappointed with my haircuts. Gingy asked me some specific questions and came up with a style that is damn near perfect. Not only did she do an amazing job, but she told to live with it for a week and come talk to her if there was anything I'd didn't like. She told me that I wouldn't hurt her feelings if I hated it, which (silly enough) is something I've always worried about. An added bonus--Gingy was social and we chatted about nothingness the entire time. Thank you so much for providing me with just the pick up I needed that day and giving me a cut that I'm happy with! I will start by saying I admit I'm extremely picky and vain about my hair. I'm definitely hard to please in this area. I went to several different places when I moved to Vegas and wasn't happy until I found Stefanie at Makeshift Union (I did follow her here from another shop). Staff is always polite and friendly and even recognizes me which I think is just great. The decor and vibe is charming and all the stylists are great at what they do. My husband never got regular cuts until I showed him this place. His stylist is Keller and he won't see anyone else now. Prices are admittedly a bit steep (at least for our budgets) but we don't mind putting aside some savings to get our hair done here because it's so worth it. Only other complaint is parking can be a bit of an issue, but that's not really the shops fault as it IS downtown, and parking is always a hassle regardless. 100% worth the drive and the cost. As long as Stefanie and Keller stick around, we are lifelong MU fans! read more
