Appreciate Maui for taking me in as a new client. Been about a year since I've moved from Hawaii and I haven't found a barber since. But through searching on the internet, I've found the lab studio and came across Maui. I booked him because of his great reviews and honestly his name as well because I thought he was from Hawaii, but from choppin it up with him during my cut, i've learned he's from Cali. Two things are guaranteed to happen to you if you make an appointment with the lab studio (never seen them do walk ins). They will make you wait while they are running behind/plain just not there or they will forget that you even made an appointment in the first place and just not show. Extremely disappointed the lab studio doesn't put a higher priority on customer service. read more

He listened to my complaints about my old barber and was able to avoid those issues effortlessly. He was so focused on detail with the design he meticulously etched into my head (I gave him full creative reign) and was pretty friendly. He has an instagram to showcase his portfolio and I had asked if I was the first female he's cut (he was not afraid to give me the truth!). Lashes my lashes look amazing!!! She literally did everything I asked and down to every little detail and more! they look soooooo good. From the inner corners cuz one eye u can't get to close, to how it perfectly fans out the perfect amount of lashes to the really pretty curl. And I stare at my lashes close up in the mirror I freaking love them I'm a picky person when it comes to my lashes! Oh and I forgot they freaking last. The best part is as they slowly fall out they still look good instead they look as if I went from volume to classic no gabs. The week before goin back for a fill people still were complementing how great they look. I didn't need a fill after 4 weeks because it looked like I had just got a classic set after four weeks. This was such a bizarre experience, a friend recommended me getting my hair cut here. I went during their hours, because I was told they take walk-ins. I show up and the door is locked and the store empty, even though it was during OPEN hours... then as i'm standing outside Elija shows up (doesnt greet me or anything) and says I have to have an appt, even though it says on the door Sunday is by appt only, this was at 11:30am on a Wednesday. He gets my number and says hell text me for a haircut at 11am the next day. I follow up with 2 texts asking him to confirm that we are good for 11am. One as soon as he texts me his name, and one the next morning around 9am. I just called Elija at 10:30am because I still hadn't heard anything.... He awnsers his phone, and hangs up on me. Very weird service, made me feel very uncomfortable as if I was a burden trying to get a haircut at a barber. Waste of time, and energy... read more
