You wouldn't guess from the outside and location of this salon, but inside the decorations are very elegant and atmosphere is relaxing. The owners were there when I was there and completely involved. It is clear that everyone is working together as a cohesive and happy team. Prices were standard and reasonable. I was told over the phone by Grace that they could do Black hair and that the service would cost around $85. However, when I arrived, I was charged $225 for a blow dry that took about two hours. At other salons I've been to, this type of service is significantly less expensive and I've always been informed of the price upfront. Screenshots of the initial quote are available. No consent was requested for a $225 charge before and during the service. No price ranges were provided via text and in person. She jumped from $85 to $225 (shared the proce after all was done). Also, there are no examples of her work on Black hair. I didn't appreciate not being warned about such a big price difference ahead of time, and I felt uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. For that reason, I will not be returning. She also commented that I am the only one of her clients whose hair took 2 hrs to do, which is indicative that she has not done black hair before. Transparency in pricing and clear communication with clients are very important, and unfortunately that was missing from my experience here.
