Also, this is not my first make up artist I've hired so I have done this multiple times all without hiccups. My prior make up artists were in the bay area or LA area. This was the worst experience ever. I submitted a yelp submission back in October for my graduation ceremony on 12/14/23. The contact information has name, email, what type of an event, date of the event, phone number, location address. My email, phone number and location address are all correct. Shana wrote a draft response on 10/27/23 but left it in her drafts. She finally sent me a reply on 10/30/23. I reply same day on 10/30/23 asking for a 10:00 am appointment. Shana replies on 11/01/23 asking if I can do 11:00 am. I respond on 11/01/23 with a yes and ask if anything else is needed. Shana replies on 11/01/23 putting me down for 12/14 @ 11:00 am offering hair services as well. I response on 11/02/23 asking to please book both. I receive no response after. I email on 12/05/23 asking if she received my earlier email and asked for a confirmation of the make up session on 12/14. Shana emails me on 12/07/23 with time and date and finally rate. On the day of my appointment as I am getting ready to go to her studio she emails me on 12/14/23 saying she "assumed" I don't need services. I send three emails and have called but she did not answer. #1 My understanding is that a make up artist goes to the location address inputted. Also, prior make up artists I have hired have done so. But apparently not at this one. #2 If you really wanted to do make up at 11:00 am you would have answered the phone. It would have been better if you just were honest and told your clients you couldn't do their make up. #3 There are technology issues. Hiring an assistant or using a different way to schedule would work. Who knows how many others had issues like this. I find it odd there aren't any real recent reviews as well. I did not want that and was worried I would not find someone like that. My friend forwarded Angelina's yelp page to me and as I looked at the photos uploaded, I was pleasantly surprised. I quickly reached out to her and her response to me was within a reasonable time. Months prior to my wedding, whenever I had questions and asked her, she was able to answer me. She also did my mom's make up and finished everything on time. She was super duper kind to both me and my mom. Made good conversation with us while doing our make up and my hair. When I was done, she showed me how I looked and I was so shocked to how beautiful I looked. My parents, brother, and guests all said I looked very natural and beautiful. My husband who saw me during the first look could not look away and also said I looked beautiful. He was so satisfied with it! Angelina is reasonably priced, quick, and does an amazing job. She was very professional throughout the entire process - from my initial inquiry all the way through the actual make-up application. I had sent her an inspiration photo prior to our appointment and she nailed the look I was going for. Her studio, make-up and tools were all very clean and of high quality. I received so many compliments on my make-up that day and am very impressed at the fact that my make-up stayed flawless for OVER 12 HOURS. What I had appreciated the most about my experience with Janel was how comfortable I felt around her.
