Horrible, dishonest company! They stole multiple items from my move, including a portable A/C, and very expensive tools that belonged to my ex, that I am now having to pay him for. I caught them red handed stealing the A/C, I have proof that they admitted to stealing it, and yes, they did return it- days later after I noticed it was missing!!! WTF! As a single working mom, this has been a burden financially. I emailed and left a message to return the items that were stolen..to no avail. Fine, RICO and a police report are to come. This is the best moving company on Island. I had a big move and had so much stuff that I needed them to come back come back for a second round at the end of the week. The whole team of Albert, Ryan, and Isaiah were excellent, each of them were so helpful and kind and really took care of my stuff. Never heard of them but called Malama since our neighbor used them and requested they remove and dispose of an old dishwasher and range. Spoke to Jane who was very helpful and courteous and even called back on Sunday afternoon to confirm a Monday appointment. I reached out on Yelp for moving quotes and Malama Moving was one of the first to respond. They had good reviews so I felt this would hopefully be my experience as well. They were so fast in responses to questions and even when I needed to change the date last minute they were extremely accommodating. On moving day Avery, Brandon and Koa showed up and were very patient as we figured out a very tricky parking situation at my building. So nice, I booked them twice. I had to move a year after booking Malama Moving the first time. I booked them again cause I was happy with their service. They also gave a loyalty discount with my reoccurring booking which I really appreciate at a time when everything is so expensive. Moving is stressful but they made it a better experience. Kirk helped me both moves which was cool. They had a truck, shrink wrap, blankets, wall and floor protectors to ensure nothing got damaged. Three people helping moved my studio apartment in two hours. Only thing I wish was I could ride to the new property with them in the truck because I don't drive. I needed to book a ride share but I understand it's their policy and most people wouldn't be affected by it since they probably have cars. Everything went pretty much as planned. They worked hard to make the job faster and easier. Good attitude overall. However, I didn't realize that for them, the clock starts when they call to say they are on their way, not when they actually arrive or start working. The 10 minute commute from my old place to the new one took them more than half an hour... The bill was like $200 more than what I expected also due to some hidden fees. For better or worse I help as much as I could, so I was too tired to ask about that, but for that reason I didn't tip. Otherwise, I would recommend them after you talk with them in advance about when their clock starts ticking, how long the commute will take based on GPS estimates and for what do they change extra fees at the end. I was beyond stressed about my recent move and asked for a quote through Yelp. Of the 5 companies that responded Malama Moving was the only quote with a 3 man team. Based on that alone I chose them and crossed my fingers. I needed them to move all the large furniture in a one room apartment. They were excellent! Friendly, punctual, efficient and strong! They dissembled all my bedroom furniture, wrapped and packed it. They also did not charge additional fees for stairs or long walkways. Once everything arrived in my new home they placed all furniture where I asked them to and reassembled it. They put everything in the correct room and could not have made it any easier on me. I had Isaac, Kirk and Elgeane and I would definitely book them again. They handled busy elevators, limited parking options, stairs and rain and got it all done in 3 hrs.
