I don't write often but I believe this was warranted. We sent in for quote through Yelp and they responded quickly and with a quote without asking to call them for a quote which is what I like. We were called a two days before to confirm the move which was reassuring. When the guys came the day of the move they each introduced themselves and were very pleasant and personable throughout the move. They Saran wrapped everything and took care of our things. I had to move again in December and I already knew who to call. I requested Kane and Isiah and they again, were both professional and efficient. There was a small issue with my carpet being dirtied (due to not laying anything down), but Kane came back on another day and cleaned it for me. Sometimes it's not the issue, but how you handle it. The crew showed up and we went through the place going over what was going on the truck. After that, my wife and I just watched in awe as they went to work securing our beds, couch, table and chairs and made sure they were wrapped up to move. It's been a long time passing that I've used Johnny but in the recent 5 years and current few months, I've called Johnny for assistance. First move a few years back was to relocate my office and in the recent months; to move and dispose some of my not needed office furniture. About my not needed furniture, let me qualify that I called Johnny with hope that he may be able to use my furniture. While used, it was still in excellent condition. He politely declined but offered (for a reasonable fee) help me move and dispose of it. The fee he explains is the fee he needs to pay to the disposal site. How great is that? I've watched him grow from a small moving company to a powerhouse of labor and certainly a force to be proud of. His fees? A quote for services is provided and I've learned that his pricing is comparable to many movers around town. What sets Johnny the Mover apart is his honesty if his company made a mistake as he will honor and correct it or his humility when I offer take out lunches for his mover. Malama Moving company was straight-forward. Service was easy to deal with and no problems. What I loved about this company was the cost. Other companies confused me giving me a starting cost then giving me a nebulous cost of how much I'd owe depending on much room my items filled up their truck or trailer. Not knowing how big their truck or trailer was, my items could fill it entirely or less than half -- I was none-the-wiser and stressed out by how much getting rid of one item would be. Of course you can always do a free bulk pick up by the city and county, or you can get it gone cheap and done right away with Malama Moving. I went with Malama Moving company because they provided expert services to come in and haul away my bedroom set and dispose of it for a flat rate + tax. I can deal with that. No hidden costs. I thought we would be paying for a 2 man crew with a large truck, but what we got was a 3 man crew with a semi truck with enough room to move all our large furniture in one trip. This was also a last minute request, as I realized how much more we had to pack. We had a last minute move and I'm glad I went with Malama Moving. We didn't have too many items but we were going from a 3rd floor of a three-story house with very steep, tricky stairs to two story walk-up apartment, there was no way my husband and I would've been able to transport a queen bedroom set without injuries. Malama Moving responded very quickly on Yelp chat and I felt that they gave the best quote for my needs. They were also very patient with my pesky questions, addressing all my concerns along the way. Although they accept cash/check payments, they do require a credit card to hold the appt date. When I called their office to update CC info, a female member assisted me, confirming all details that came up in the Yelp chat. She was very thorough and friendly, and absolutely wonderful to speak with! On the day of, the three-man crew arrived about 10 min earlier than the scheduled time. The lead member (older gentleman) courteously introduced themselves and proceeded to visually review the details of the move. They were so well coordinated! The lead gave precise instructions to the other crew to move the items out of the house. Our items were bulky and heavy but the guys carried them out with such professionalism! No complaints, no jeering, just straight up work. I unfortunately could not accompany the move to the delivery site myself but my husband vouched for their efficiency, also evident in how the items were placed exactly how I imagined them to be with zero damage. They also helped take out some of our trash that accumulated during the move (quoted based on amount). My biggest regret is that I don't have individual names because they all deserve recognition. I needed an old hot tub removed from our backyard. I had already removed the pumps and motor and cut it up into three pieces.
