I went this past Sunday and feel overall the theatre is nice but needs to update the seats. They were made of cloth and seemed dated and dirty. Also I was very disappointed in the outside of the theatre. There was trash scattered everywhere all over the ground. I feel management should be better than this. It was Sunday afternoon (Fathers Day). A trashy entrance is not what you want to see when your dropping the kind of money that is required to see a movie these days plus refreshments. read more

I came in from Louisiana to visit my cousins, and we decided before I made it in town to see Girls Trip! We purchased our tickets online. We made it there about 20 minutes before showtime. We were able to quickly retrieve our tickets from the self-serve kiosk using the credit card used for purchase. The theatre was crowded, but we made our way to the theatre showing our movie. Upon entering the auditorium, there was a foul smell similar to a dirty diaper. Yuck! We found our seats, and then went to the concession stand nearest to our theatre. There were 2 people working it, but they appeared to be disheveled. They were trying to take orders, assemble popcorn boxes, fill drinks, etc. With 2 big premiers (Girls Trip & Dunkirk), I would think they would've been better prepared for the crowd. Poor service. The game room is horrible. Most games do not work. Put money in the photo booth and it would not work. When I went to the front to tell them, they said the games weren't theirs and they would not give me a refund. Really? I told them they should put an out of order sign on it or unplug it and the night manager refused. I asked for the GMs name to call the next day. Waste of time for a couple of bucks, but no telling how many people they have ripped off. Poor customer service. read more

This is a nice theater with lots of space and very family oriented the food lines move swiftly with knowledgeable staff and manager always on duty. The seating area nice and comfortable with great lighting and spacious for extra seating. The pricing is reasonable for a theater the popcorn is hot and fresh and drinks are always bubbling. First of all, i would like to say my family loves this theatre. The staff is always very friendly. But, the last couple of times we've been, the whole place has been very dirty. The glass display cases with the candy are really dirty...like the silicone sealer around the glass is hanging off & some sort of mold is growing on the glass. Malco is a very nice theater and big enough to get the latest and some of the smaller budget films that are hard to find. Movies are expensive these days, and Maco's prices are normal for most cities. I've always had pretty good customer service, but you're dealing with teenagers - so I don't hold it against the theater. Concessions are where theaters make their money - so they'll always been expensive, but Malco has one of the best menus around and I've never been unhappy with what I've ordered. read more

Hey Malco, the 80s called and wants its theater back! Seats, too! This joint cannot scan digital tickets on your phone. Instead, you must stand in the ticket line for the clerk to enter your ticket verification code. Their solution to standing in the ticket line? Go to a terminal on the side and type the long verification code yourself! Better to head to the Flowood theater which has the latest tech and luxurious seats. As an out-of-towner, I enjoyed my experience at this theater. Very grand in scale. Clear picture, relatively clean and good lighting make it a solid movie-going experience for movie go'ers. read more

I always love going to malco to see the latest films. The staff is always friendly, the popcorn is good (although they don't make it themselves [WEIRD]), and usually the theatre rooms aren't freezing, which is a plus. read more

There are two theatres much closer to me, but this is the one I prefer. The theatre is clean, comfortable seating, lots of options. Prices on tickets and concessions are the same as everywhere. Expensive. read more

The pretzels are horrible! The popcorn is horrible. Some of these kids can't take and execute a simple order. The pretzels actually sit under a hot light until they're ordered. They come lukewarm at best. read more

Just got out of Finding Dory (it was great!) and I have a few things to say. We ordered our tickets online the day before, so we got in really fast. The concession lines were so long that we didn't even bother getting anything, even though we had a good ten minutes til the previews started. The floors weren't sticky, but when we sat down, we noticed liquid in the cup holder, ew. Everything else went smoothly, but I wish it were cleaner, and I wish they were showing this popular movie on more screens. read more

I've been going to the Malco Grandview for 12 years. I've seen over 250 movies there. I go frequently because it's located in my hometown, but I'm about to stop going there unless it's the only option to see a movie I like, and this is for one simple reason: they take their customers for granted. Their prices on both tickets and concessions are consistently higher than anywhere in the metro, they have no loyalty program, and I have been consistently harassed by their security guards when trying to view posters--basically, advertisements for their products! I've seen it when it's packed and when it's empty, when it's clean and when it's dirty, when the service is good and when it's bad. No one quality at this theater is as consistent as how much they take loyal customers for granted. read more

Great theatre. I have been to this theatre countless times and never had a complaint. I love how there is a little arcade for the young teens to play. There is also a nice sitting area to eat in. The staff are pretty nice. read more

A couple of years ago, I saw a 3-D movie here. During the ending credits, I removed my hearing aids and headed out. Though I couldn't hear well, I later learned an employee was calling on me to "come back and turn in my 3-D glasses". As I reached the exit doors, a Wackenhut security guard slammed me against the wall and snatched the glasses out of my hand, breaking them. He then radioed the Madison police (he was an off-duty policeman) and they came, talked only to him (not me), then told me I could go, but "never come back to Madison". This lives up to every stereotype of backwards Mississippi I've ever heard. A letter to Malco never got a response. Since I've been to movie theaters in NY, Frisco, Atlanta, and DC, this rather pretentious suburban theater doesn't impress me at all-- certainly not enough to risk being assaulted again by a deranged rent-a-cop. PS: re popcorn: Most big suburban theaters either buy their popcorn or pop it off-site the day before, then load it into industrial-sized bags to dump into "fake" poppers at concession. Sad fate for American popcorn. Also, note that the "buttery topping" is actually coconut or soybean oil (that is, cooking oil) with artificial butter flavoring. Extremely unhealthy topping on stale popcorn-- yuck. read more

It's not a huge big deal. I ordered nachos last night right. So I'm eating them and the chips tasted stale. So I looked at the date is said aug 02 2020, and it is august 29 2020 today. So I threw away the expired chips and kept the cheese and figured just tell them at the concessions no big deal right. So the guy gets his manager. A prick white guy with glasses on and he actually argues with me over some chips???? Saying it's just the date that it's Best Buy. I'm like but today is august 29. Like I'm somebody who is trying to get over him about some chips. It makes me feel they just want me to eat some expired stale chips and be happy about it. It's probably the same chips that was there before the pandemic. Like I said it isn't a big deal. But stuff like that irks me. I work at retail and we are pretty big about not having things that out of date on the sales floor. So basically I just walked away not wanting to argue about stupid chips. The movie was good though. In the Jackson Metro, you really don't have a lot of players in the theater market. It is nice to be able to go to the Malco and enjoy a movie in a very clean, comfortable environment. I've been here for a while and this is, even after being open for several yes, is by far the best venue in the area. I've seen some of the other theaters right after they opened and they were not as clean or nice as this place is over four years later. I'm not going to talk about the prices of food or tickets at the movies because we all know it is way over priced. That is true at almost all theaters. They will charge what the market will bear. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is that they pop their popcorn in advance. They pop it in the back, put it in big bags, and bring it out to the front poppers as the day goes on. I realize this has some advantages in wait time, among others, but it just isn't nearly as fresh as I want. read more

It's the nicest theater in this area, for sure, but never seems to be really clean. We moved here from the Atlanta suburbs and there, your average theater is cleaned between showings. If they do this at Malco, it doesn't show. It's frustrating to pay a higher price to see a movie and then go into the theater and see trash on the floor. The bathrooms are usually fairly clean, though. I think this seems to be an issue across the board in Mississippi - businesses are just not kept pristine, and I don't understand this. However, it's the closest theater and clean enough for the occasional movie. I just wish it were cleaner and had a rewards program like AMC. read more

The place is awesome with all the movies in 3D (or 2D if in not in 3D.) The lines however are long, so I highly recommend to come early. The popcorn is perfect never burnt. Malco Grandview has a fountain and with good popcorn seasoning. It also has some other snacks like pizza and hot dogs. Malco Grandview also has drinks including some hot chocolate, fountain drinks, and shakes (never tried one.) My only problem besides the lines is the prices. The food is expensive and so is the ticket prices which is probably is why I made it 4 stars not 5. read more
