Favorite spot to grab a bottle on my way home from the grocery store to have with dinner. They have obscure and delicious liquors I can't find easily elsewhere, and a small but very good wine selection. They have snacks and some minor artisanal vibed groceries too. They also do tastings some nights at their back bar-ish area! Great to try new things! They have a membership sort of program so you can get a discount on a rotating variety of things, it's just a phone number and your name and for once that definitely is t sold out to spam you! First time reviewing a wine store, but have to say I was really impressed with the cleanliness, organization, selection and staff, especially Neil the manager. I found this store because I was looking for an agave wine we had tried in Los Angeles and a Google search showed that they carried it. Neil was super helpful and knowledgeable and gave me a tour around the shop. Great selection of French and Italian wine too! I ended up not just getting the agave wine that they special ordered ( I wanted more than they had in stock) but also orange wine, and some canned alcohol products, some familiar and some new to me. Malden Center Fine Wines is a pristine liquor store nestled in a new modern apartment center. It's right across the street from city hall. The store is well lit and aisles were organized. They have a vast selection of liquor including some boutique spirits. And everything seems to be in a specific category making it easy to locate. I was happy to see they have a nice variety of Japanese whisky. Street parking is tough around the area so I ended up parking in a walkable distant lot that was free on a Sunday. Hibiki Suntory Whisky- One of my favorite whisky! I had to stock up on another bottle. It's a great medium-bodied whisky, nutty, and slightly sweet. Overall Service: The staff here was friendly! Last week, the store changed ownership and fired the experienced staff, replacing them with incompetents. Don't waste your time or endure the difficulty of parking here in expectation of knowledgeable, prompt or efficient service. After giving the name of the wine I sought (Petit Laurenc) I was asked three times whether the wine in question was French. It's called Petit Laurenc, so yeah its not Spanish or Bulgarian. read more

The guys behind the counter were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about wines. They helped me select two great bottles. They have a wide variety at good prices. The cheese selection was fantastic. Really interesting selection. After looking for a Japanese whisky for nearly 1.5 years with no luck, I went into Malden Center Fine Wines and found it. Gentleman behind the counter was exceptionally knowledgeable and even offered to contact the other sister stores to see if they have any additional bottles. Beer selection was great but definitely overwhelming. Although it's a hike over here, I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

I really like the new staff! One of the guys lived in Japan for like 15 years and gave us some good sake recommendations. I'm liking the new selection too, they put a lot of effort into it and I appreciate it. They do wine tastings on Saturdays and beer/spirit tastings on Fridays which have introduced us to some cool local drinks. read more

This place has a fantastic selection of interesting wines-- the staff are wicked friendly and helpful as well so coming to choose a wine is always a lot of fun. They have free wine tastings some evenings which is also so enjoyable and they're great at walking you through the tasting. Their cheese and meat counter is also one of the best parts of this store. I love coming here and getting wine and some meat and cheese for charcuterie-- it's a great spot to pick up everything you need for a fun date night :) read more

This place has unfortunately gone downhill since ownership changed. As the previous reviewer said, the former staff is all gone and the new team is not knowledgeable about product. I used to have no problem spending more money to come here, rather than a Kappy's or a Total Wine, because they had staff that could give great recommendations or could order whatever I was looking for, and because I could get hard-to-find imported grocery goods. Now they sell booze freezepops at the front counter and the artisanal snacks and imported chocolate has been replaced with the same prepackaged muffins my local gas station carries. They had carved out a niche for themselves in an up-and-coming area like Malden and now it's going to be the same as every other tacky liquor store. read more
