My entire family has been going to Round Rock ATA for 2.5 years now. It has been terrific for the entire family. My son started in the Tigers program just before he turned 4 years old. The program has taught him discipline, self defense, and has increased his overall athletic ability. After he started my 10 year old daughter vecame interested and now is in black belt class. She has competed in tournaments, helps teach Tigers, and confidence has soared under Mr. Benitez's tutilage. My wife and I have since joined and have learned self defense and our overall health has improved significantly. We could not be happier with Round Rock ATA and look forward to many more years to come. With all that being said... what makes Round Rock ATA great is Mr. Benitez. He is wonderful man with great integrity and has made us better people. He has free ladies self defense occasionally... extra fun workouts throughout the year and works hard to give back to the community through foid drives and gifts for needy children at holiday time. My mom purchased the Groupon for my three sons to try out karate and we have been blown away at the experience so far. We started in early January, but my boys are really enjoying it and have been implementing some of the respect techniques at home ("Yes, sir," "Yes, ma'am," doing it the first time they are asked, etc.) The boys love going to karate (they are in the beginner Tigers class) and definitely try their best to master the moves. Both Mr. Benitez and Mr. Duncan are very patient, friendly, and encouraging, which is huge for my boys who have never taken a karate class before. I love that it is teaching them self-defense, as well as respect for themselves and others. I overheard Mr. Benitez teach a lesson about bullying and the steps one should take to resolve the issue (use your words, move away, tell a teacher, and lastly, self-defense if necessary) which is great because many of those are the same steps we teach the boys at home. Overall, we love it. We are still in the early stages of our time here, but I will definitely try to add an update once we reach the end of our 10 weeks (Groupon). read more

Round Rock ATA is now being run by the Maldonado family, and they are doing a phenomenal job. The instructors are super friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like you belong at the school. They're very close to all their students, and I love watching one instructor join and take a class with the kids while another instructor is teaching. It really shows their determination to get to know their students and make them feel comfortable and like they're all equal. I've even seen the family do multiple donation drives and fundraisers in the time they've owned the school to help raise awareness and resources for good causes, which I love. The school itself has students of all age ranges, starting with Tiny Tigers (up to age 7) to teens/adults. This is a great facility for families, and I have seen many families that have walked in with just their kids but have later decided to start training as a whole! The kickboxing class is a great workout too if you're not wanting the whole taekwondo training aspect. I would definitely recommend this school! read more

My grandson Lincoln is 4 years old and is enrolled in the Tigers class and he loves it. He enjoys coming to class and is always excited when it is time to go train. I like it because it is a family owned and oriented business that teaches the kids respect and discipline. They also have a big focus on physical fitness and keep the kids busy the entire class. The instructors are top notch and keep the kids focused and on task. They make it fun and the kids are getting into shape, learning core values, and having a great time while doing it. They are friendly and helpful and know how to work with very young kids. This is a really good program and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to help their kids learn important self-defense skills while learning respect and discipline at the same time. My son's Kindergarten teacher recommended that he begin classes with Mr. Benitez as her son showed great improvement both physically and socially after attending classes for a while. My son started as a Tiny Tiger and is now a Red Recommended belt after three awesome years with ATA Round Rock. Both Mr. Benitez and Mr. Duncan show an incredible ability to nurture and develop the physical and social skills of all of their young students. It is obvious that they both enjoy and take great pride teaching Tae Kwon Do to children and adults alike. My son has learned self-defense, respect for others, and has developed greater coordination and agility. I have been attending Maldonado ATA Martial Arts for a little less than three years. The atmosphere is extremely supportive and positive. The philosophy of the instructors is to push each individual to what they can achieve which comes with a lot of one on one instruction. It's a very healthy environment and I can't imagine stopping. It's too good for me! Another thing that is unique about this school is the belts/ranks aren't handed out because you show up. Each one is earned through a lot of sweat and demonstrated skills. It's not uncommon for a student to have to skip a belt test because he/she just didn't earn the stripes. This makes earning them a lot more valuable and the entire journey more meaningful. read more

We were looking for a Martial Arts School early last year for my 9 year old son. We looked at the various schools and chose Maldonado ATA. We could not have made a better decision. It is a family run business and all of the instructors and staff are great! They make it a point to teach the kids to respect their parents and to make good choices. Our son looks forward to his practices every week. My 3 year old daughter would attend her big brother's practices and could not wait until she was old enough to attend as well. We've been bringing our son here for almost a year now, and have seen great improvement with his character, not to mention agility and skill. He remembers the lessons when he gets home and although like any growing boy he's had moments when he fights with his siblings, he really has made great progress with himself and with others. As for the business itself, it's located off the beaten path a little bit but in a good building for a dojo. They are making good progress as a business, creating greater outreach especially for youth. You can see that Mr. Benitez wants to make a positive impact in kids' lives, and that's cool. read more

The Maldonado family and staff have done an amazing job at making this establishment both welcoming and professional. Never have I seen a better balance between amazing leadership and personal investment. Every instructor I have worked with has not only given me the best workout ever (try the kickboxing class!), but they have taken a personal interest in helping me reach my goals. I have observed quite a few of the kiddo martial arts classes, and the Maldonado's do a great job of teaching the young students impressive skills and worthwhile ethics. 10/10 would recommend this school for kids AND adults alike. read more

My 2 children attends the tigers class since January 2017. We were recommended by another family that was attending the school. I must say we are very happy with them. The Maldonados and all theyre staff are outstanding. It shows how much passion they have with teaching kids/ adults in martial arts and self defense. In our times right now as much as we wants to guard our children 24/7 bad people will always find a way to hurt someone. We love this place !! We started here for my son and have been going here twice a week for the Tiger program. My son loves going and is so excited for his class.My son looks forward to going to his classes every week and is learning a lot about control, following instructions, balance, etc. we are very proud to be a part of this school.The instructors and staff are really great. My family has been training with ATA for 3 years now, I have been training for 2.5 years. Round Rock ATA is by far the best school we have trained at. The Maldonado Family runs the school and they provide such an amazing atmosphere to train at. I guarantee once you try one of their classes you'll be coming back for more. My daughter had been taking classes at ATA for about a year when I joined. We now both take classes together and enjoy being able to share this experience. The Maldonado's are high energy instructors. They like to laugh and have fun all while providing great training. They make you feel like you are a part of a large family. My son started at Maldonado ATA, and I love the fact that they offer a month trial. It helped us determine if this would be a good fit for our 4-year old son, who needs structure to help with his ability to follow multi-step instructions and focus and attention. Our 9 year old started training at Maldonado ATA this school year. It is a warm, family-friendly environment with skilled instructors who give lots of positive reinforcement. The beginners classes are a great mix of cardio training, skill building, and character development. There are many class times and we are able to make up classes if we have to miss (schedule permitting). Our son really enjoys the training, and he will test for his first belt today! We enrolled my son at Maldonado ATA as he has a lot of energy. He loves going to karate to get some of his energy out and the teachers work really well with young kids (my son is 4) to help them understand to be respectful and to learn to listen. They have a good system and provide a good work out for my son. He loves getting stars for doing good and he has learned to listen and not shout to get someone's attention as much as he used too. My wife purchased a groupon for this after my son showed some interest in martial arts last year in kindergarten. He went the 16 classes for the groupon and did earn a belt while there. Sadly my son didn't take it as seriously as he should and chose not to continue. Mr. Benitez however has the patience of a Shaolin Monk when it comes to dealing with the kids. He is very good with them and is a highly effective teacher. The facility is always clean and well kept and he's very clear with students and parents. I highly recommend Round Rock ATA. read more
