My opinion changed drastically a few days ago during my interaction with Tina. (I'm assuming she's the office manager). I had called several times and left messages because I had concerns about my dog's care and some symptoms that recently have become worse. Each time I was told that the doctor would receive my message and that someone would call me back. I originally called on a Thursday-it was Monday and I had still not received a call back. I did however, receive a call from Tina, who asked me if I still had concerns. I told her that my calls had not been returned and my issues had not been addressed, which resulted in my having to take my dog to PETS ER in the middle of the night. This visit could have been prevented (and I wouldn't have had to spend $1200) had my call from ANY vet been returned. I was told by Tina that I should have made an appointment, not left messages. Why didn't anyone tell me that one of the three times that I called? She told me that I should "have known that because I should be advocating for my pet", insinuating I was being neglectful. She proceeded to continue to shame me for declining certain tests the last time I had taken my dog in. I couldn't afford them at the time! When I asked again about not getting a phone call back, she said, " we can't keep track of all our phone calls. We get hundreds of phone calls a day." WOW! Let's just say the conversation was not pleasant, and instead of continuing to argue with this woman, I hung up. She called me back, leaving me a message saying that I was rude, and that their practice was obviously not a good fit and I should find somebody else to provide care for my dog. Rather than helping to diffuse the situation or use her conflict, resolution skills, if any, she decides to kick me out of the practice. This says a lot about this facility and this employee. Obviously, I will not be going back. You should reconsider if you're thinking of visiting this practice, because they are extremely expensive and if this woman is a reflection of their unprofessionalism, then no thank you. Do yourself a favor and find another vet. Edit: upon reading other reviews, I can see that I'm not the only one who has been "dismissed" from this practice-this speaks volumes

I was shocked when Orcutt Vet told me they could perform the same surgery for one-third of the price I had been quoted elsewhere. That was the moment I realized I had finally found a vet I could trust. Since then, I've brought my newest rescue dog in for an eye surgery, which again was priced very fairly. One thing I appreciate most is their transparency: they always explain which costs are essential and which are optional, and they have never made me feel guilty or ashamed when I've needed to stay within a budget. I have another surgery coming up for my cat, and once again the pricing is extremely reasonable. On top of all that, they gave my senior Cocker Spaniel mix what I call a "miracle shot" that completely stopped her itching. I had tried everything--different foods, shampoos, supplements--and nothing worked until this. If your dog struggles with itchy skin, I can't recommend this place enough. Orcutt Veterinary Hospital has earned my complete trust. They are honest, compassionate, affordable, and genuinely care about both pets and their owners. I'm so grateful to have found them.

We had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog, and they treated her with such dignity, love, and respect. Everyone was patient, caring, and took the time to explain everything to us without making us feel rushed. They comforted us throughout the entire process and made an incredibly painful experience a little easier to bear. I will always be grateful for the empathy, professionalism, and genuine care they showed my dog and our family. Thank you for helping us say goodbye with peace and compassion. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking for a veterinary team that truly cares.

EVERYONE was kind, soothing and eager to help. My 11 year old Chihuahua-terrier mix dislocated her hip, she was crying in pain, we were beside ourselves, unable to help her. My husband called around who was open on a holiday weekend, and we found Atascadero Pet Hospital. They immediately invited us in to their beautiful facility and put my baby under anesthesia and put her hip back in place. We took her home in a hip sling, and she did wonderfully. We only had to give her the pain medicine that they sent us home with the first and second night. Today was our follow up and the hip sling is off and now we all have to do is pray that keeping her contained for a few more weeks with careful handling, her hip will heal and not need further surgery. I just can't express how much gratitude I have to these kind people and how wonderfully they treated us. I especially want a shout out to a young man, I think his name is Juan, young man, very handsome and just so in tuned to everything we needed to hear and how to take care of her once we got her home. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and assured us that we could call anytime of day or night if something happened that wasn't right or if my pet was in pain. I can't tell you how much this meant to us. Monkey is healing. We are so relieved to know that there are experts out there that will help us and be kind to our animals. Of course, the surgeon and the vets were amazing as well, so thank you to them and thank you for the time that they also spent with us explaining our options. And I just want to add, that those inaccurate reviews of this wonderful facility are likely hyperbole. Being a healthcare provider myself, for humans, I know, you can't make everybody happy. And you can't make miracles happen every time. There are many variables to consider when making a recommendation about options for health, and quality of life. It may not be an easy fix, and it may not be the best for the pet. And sometimes that's hard to hear. And, quite frankly, healthcare even if it's for a pet, is quite expensive. It's part of being a pet owner (or human). I was actually quite amazed that my dog had full-on anesthesia and her hip put back in place and a sling placed for such a reasonable amount. It was even less than they had quoted us and, they didn't ask to do a bunch of bloodwork and everything else ahead of time. They just took her to surgery and put her hip back in. Amazing! I stand behind what I said, these people are very mindful and compassionate in the work they do.
