My husband and I came home at 3 am to a heartbreaking situation - our 2 year old beloved Dixie girl was horribly injured (still don't know what happened), to the point of paralysis. I called PETS hospital, brought her in and we were taken care of immediately. The staff was amazing, so caring and understanding. We could not have had a better experience and Dixie girl was at such peace as she crossed over the rainbow bridge. I cannot recommend these guys enough, Thank you thank you thank you thank you!

Everyone there was so wonderful. My little a-hole Cosmo got short of breath due to his tracheal collapse. We were on vacation from San Diego through Solvang and then to San Francisco. On a hike in his stroller mind you he kept honking away from excitement and eventually irritated his trachea. We got back to our hotel and did all the things and he got slightly better but not right as rain. So off we went to the Pet Emergency. Everyone was so sweet and wonderful. The doctor was Extremely knowledgeable and gave us some prednisone and upped his current meds. He was 70% better by the night and almost perfect by the next day to San Francisco. Could not have asked for better care!!

Thanks to the entire staff at PETS Hospital. My little Border Collie Portia slept well last night and is back to feeling good! I appreciate the treatment you prescribed and the manner in which it was handled. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Marissa Scott and the staff. I'm so thankful for your caring and comprehensive approach. My little girl was not feeling well at all when we arrived at your hospital and had no idea of the scope of issues but you identified them and treated them with aplomb. Thank you, Thank you! Mike and Portia

EVERYONE was kind, soothing and eager to help. My 11 year old Chihuahua-terrier mix dislocated her hip, she was crying in pain, we were beside ourselves, unable to help her. My husband called around who was open on a holiday weekend, and we found Atascadero Pet Hospital. They immediately invited us in to their beautiful facility and put my baby under anesthesia and put her hip back in place. We took her home in a hip sling, and she did wonderfully. We only had to give her the pain medicine that they sent us home with the first and second night. Today was our follow up and the hip sling is off and now we all have to do is pray that keeping her contained for a few more weeks with careful handling, her hip will heal and not need further surgery. I just can't express how much gratitude I have to these kind people and how wonderfully they treated us. I especially want a shout out to a young man, I think his name is Juan, young man, very handsome and just so in tuned to everything we needed to hear and how to take care of her once we got her home. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and assured us that we could call anytime of day or night if something happened that wasn't right or if my pet was in pain. I can't tell you how much this meant to us. Monkey is healing. We are so relieved to know that there are experts out there that will help us and be kind to our animals. Of course, the surgeon and the vets were amazing as well, so thank you to them and thank you for the time that they also spent with us explaining our options. And I just want to add, that those inaccurate reviews of this wonderful facility are likely hyperbole. Being a healthcare provider myself, for humans, I know, you can't make everybody happy. And you can't make miracles happen every time. There are many variables to consider when making a recommendation about options for health, and quality of life. It may not be an easy fix, and it may not be the best for the pet. And sometimes that's hard to hear. And, quite frankly, healthcare even if it's for a pet, is quite expensive. It's part of being a pet owner (or human). I was actually quite amazed that my dog had full-on anesthesia and her hip put back in place and a sling placed for such a reasonable amount. It was even less than they had quoted us and, they didn't ask to do a bunch of bloodwork and everything else ahead of time. They just took her to surgery and put her hip back in. Amazing! I stand behind what I said, these people are very mindful and compassionate in the work they do.

His vets office was not open on the weekends so we loaded him in my truck and took him to VCA on Saturday night. He was assesed and deemed "stable" and we were dismissed. I was shocked that they were not interested in trying to determine the cause of the tender abdomen or lack of appetite. The next morning (Sunday) he seemed worse.. Not really responding to any of his JOY triggers or favorite people. He was just hiding under the bed. So, we loaded him back up and went back VCA. Once again, after a 2 minute "assessment" we were refused treatment because they determined he was stable enough to go home and make an appointment with our own vet. I thought for sure that they at least run some blood work or obtain some imagery of his tender abdomen, but nope, nothing. By Monday morning he was lethargic and my vet was able to squeeze him in for treatment. They did labwork and an xray/ultrasound. Determined he had a huge stone in his bladder, and we were sent to the emergency vet on Easton. By this time, the numbers coming up in his labwork were pretty soul crushing.. He was in critical condition. The stone had blocked the bladder from emptying and that caused the bladder to rupture. We made the choice to end his suffering. I truly believe that if VCA would have performed an xray then they would have seen the blockage and would have helped him empty his bladder, preventing it from rupturing. PLEASE update your policy and use more thorough assessment. My dog would still be alive if he hadn't been turned away, twice, without a proper assessment.

The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. Thank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for helping my sweet Lilo leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Please take care of yourself, too. She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart.
