Had the best experience with Bri and Mary at Malmrose Bridal with my bestfriend. Scheduling was extremely easy. I booked via website and got a confirmation the following day. During our visit, we were asked to take off our shoes and we actually loved that because 1) it's SO clean in the shop, 2) they also have the bride wear gloves to refrain from accidentally staining the dresses they try on. The level of professionalism at Malmrose was so refreshing. Bri knew exactly what my friend wanted and she found her a dress on the first dress try-on just by listening and seeing two pictures of dresses she tried on at other shops. She is a wizard and so good at what she does. Mary is behind the scenes and checked in on us multiple times. She also supported my bestfriend and Bri in the dresses that she tried on. They even shared a tender moment that just made me so happy to see. ALL the women in this shop care about what they do and we felt that. Tihani was very kind and helpful with helping me find my dress. I came in thinking I'm just going in for some fittings. I don't think I would leave with my dress for my wedding day! Malmrose was such a high end five star experience. As soon as you walk in you have to take your shoes off to keep the white carpet clean. You have to wear these cute Lacey gloves to prevent the oils from touching the dresses. They let you wear a corsette and spanx that makes the dress easier to slip in and make you look snatched. As soon as I had THE DRESS on the sun shone through the window or maybe the lights changed but something about the lighting suddenly made me feel like I was in heaven wearing my dress. Everything was white and glowing. It was as if the heavens were celebrating for me and cheering for me to pick this dress. That's when I knew..yes this is my dress! I did the bridal suite with Tonya and had the most wonderful time! If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would! The bridal suite is an after-hours event. You reserve the whole place for just you and your friends/family! I LOVE this because it's so intimate and such a cute experience versus other bridal stores where you're dress shopping along with 2-3 other parties in the same room, at the same time. For me, that's just uncomfortable. The bridal suite offers some little treats and water. The apple cider for a toast is a MUST after finding the perfect dress! They had lots of variety in dresses too! Which was nice because I went in being really open to any dress, I didn't have a specific type I wanted or was looking for. Now, onto Tonya. AMAZING. From the very beginning, she said she would find me the PERFECT dress and if I didn't find it there, it's okay! They don't work on commission so from beginning-end, I never felt any pressure. I am very picky so I knew we would be there for a while. Lol. At the beginning, Tonya brought me lots of dresses. The girls rated it from 1-10, which was also a cute idea! Loved my dress, but hated the alterations that were done to it by someone who works with them, so in the end hated how my dress looked. If you have the misfortune for working with Cristina, RUN AWAY and find someone else! She was very rude and would not listen to what I wanted. There was excess fabric sitting on top of the bodice from the ruching that I told her needed to be tightened (it had nothing to do with the fit of the dress, the inner fabric was tight and fit me, but she did not pull the top fabric tight). I brought this up to her (in front of Mary at one of my fittings) and all she did was pat it down and say it was fine. It wasn't fine. That part was noticeable in my photos, resulting in me having to hold my bouquet to cover it. I can't stand to look at my photos now, and am probably going to have to pay someone to Photoshop that part of the dress. Mary, Anastasia, and all other staff were nice and helpful. I could not have asked for a more pleasant bridal shopping experience. The staff at Malmrose are SO accommodating, patient and kind. I was shopping for a tea-length bridal dress to wear for my reception and Malmrose Bridal was one of the only locations that had a few dresses of that length for me to choose from. This was the first stop I made for dresses. They were so nice and cared about me as a client! They had my size in stock (which was surprising). We went through dress after dress and Brittny was so patient with me and listened to everything I liked or disliked about each dress. After about 10 we found the perfect dress. Seriously. Dropped by today at 5:30 during their normal business hours. We were fretted by what appeared to be the owner who asked if we went with the bridal suite. When we informed her we were not, she said they were closed because the bridal suite is offered after normal operating hours and informed us we would have to leave because they were closed. I asked what time they closed and she said six. I informed her it was 5:30. She then told me we could look around the store because the bridal party made a mistake booking online at 5:30. We began to browse the store during their normal hours then the young lady ate the desk informed us my daughter could only look but not try on any dresses because of the private bridal suite was occurring. We left because the tone of each of these two ladies was rude and they were conducting business they informed us only occurred after hours during normal hours. When we got home we checked the webpage to see if we could book a bridal suite during their normal operating hours. No surprise, we could not book an appointment during their business hours. While I cannot be certain that they lied about the booking, i feel like they did. This experience was enough to keep us from booking an appointment with Malmrose Bridal. read more

I worked 3 years at Ypsilon dresses, I want to share this because I know how this special event should of happened and I know the process of selling a dress and what it takes and what it shouldn't be like. Let me start off with some positives, the dresses are beautiful and unique. The girl that sold me the dress was wonderful. Great loacation easy to get to,, was easy to make an appointment and get it. Now to the Negative, it was a very high pressure atmosphere and was very uncomfortable. I was with 4 other brides in the back and there was no privacy. So imagine 4 brides along with their party as well as 2-3 other sells woman and the owner of the store watching you telling you look great, it really pressured me to loving the dress. Another huge negative was I was not allowed to take a picture of me in the dress. This is and was a huge disservice because I feel in love with what I thought it looked like not what it actually looked like. I didn't get to spend a day looking at it and deciding that I look good and its what I want. I didn't get to pick or have option with the veil, they picked it and that was that. When I called to change it they said they couldn't change it because it was already ordered, they should have told me it had to be ordered. The owner was pushy but nice the day I bought the dress. My first fitting was horrible, I hated the dress. It didn't fit me right and I have a huge problem with my upper body and because I didn't try on the dress without a bra the dress really had zero support. And looked terrible. I felt like a grandma. But because I had already pad for it and I felt like I couldn't try other dresses on and get something different. I should of spoke up about this at the time instead of pushing forward. We added a corset bustier and I hate those because I'm a big top heavy girl and those sqoosh my boobs together. The owner was not very nice in trying to accommodate me and tried talking me out of a making an added skirt for the dress. Which would make my concerns go away. She over charged me on the fabric and got too much. I spent a lot of money on this dress to feel like a burden and pressured into making a dress I didn't like anymore. I don't know why the seamstress was not purchasing the fabric. she was the one was I talking too and knew the plan. Once the fabric came it was the wrong color and no one wanted to get the right color. I had to finally just bag the getting the skirt made by them and get it done somewhere else. By the way the owner charged me 500 bucks for fabric and I went to joannes and bought it for 50. either she priced bummed that up for her own good or I should of been given the option to by my own fabric. I really like the seamstress but the dress started to unravel and there was bunching in the back. And this was after the alterations were done and I was leaving the country for the wedding. I could not get her the dress to fix it. She wouldn't help me make it right or compromise because I have to get all his done somewhere else because of the time issue. I'm very disappointed in the dress and went to go buy another and the dress store said I was the second person that week to have bought a dress at Malmrose and felt pressured and ended up getting another dress. In a nut shell this is what should have been different and what needs to change to make this dress store work. 1. Less pressure to buy and say this is the dress. More privacy to talk to your party and talk about concerns. 2. Be able to take a picture of the dress because I wouldn't have bought it if I had the chance to look at it later and decide and know the dress isn't my style nor looked that great. 3. The owner was fake and passive aggressive after I bought the dress. And blamed me for the mistake that their communication caused. 4. Don't say you can make something that you cannot make in the time that it is needed. 5. Don't over charge me for something just because your the owner and you can. 6. If there is an unhappy customer try to compromise to make both parties happy. 7. Better communication with seamstress and owner so fabric can be available in the right color and in a time adequate to get the project finished, I am NOT HAPPY with my dress and I will be BUYING A NEW one for my wedding in a month. A STRESSFUL time to have added stress by a unpleasant NOT FUN memory and event. And I want to know why on this facebook page I cannot read the 1 star review. Was it deleted by the page? All these 5 stars seam sketchy. I may be a little biased because I bought my dress here but I absolutely loved my experience here! I had been to 6 different stores before and was feeling so discouraged. The second I met Tonya and I told her what I wanted she said "I think I know exactly the dress you want." It was exactly what I wanted and it was even my size! They have an amazing variety. My dress comes from Spain and they are the old store in Utah that carries this designer. I fell in love. On top of this Tonya was amazing. So sweet, not pushy at all, makes you feel so comfortable and super helpful. When I decided it was my dress they put a veil on me and gave me a bouquet and cheered for me. It was really sweet. Alterations are not included in the price of dress, and we have had to pay an additional $400 in alterations, which should have been better communicated. We had my daughter's first alteration appointment, and not everything that was promised can actually be done. Very frustrating! Amy seemed really nice throughout my appointment and was helpful as I didn't know exactly what I wanted. The dress was more than I was hoping to spend but with the modifications she showed me it was the perfect dress. UPDATE: I feel like I've been swindled. I bought the dress almost a year ago but waited until closer to my wedding date to start working on the alterations (as is usually recommended). When I tried on the dress at the store it had quite a bit more poof then I wanted but Amy said I just needed to unpick some of the crinoline and she pulled back the crinoline to showed me how the dress would look once it was removed. I loved this look so I broke my budget to buy the dress. Unfortunately it isn't a simple alteration (just removing the crinoline) like Amy said it would be. I live in a different state and brought the dress back to my home state with me so I wouldn't have to fly back and forth for fittings. I had some of the crinoline removed form the dress but it just has too much fabric and it folds funny with the crinoline removed. I found a couple different bridal seamstresses who looked at the dress and said that there was absolutely no way to get the look that Amy showed me without completely re-doing the dress (which would cost hundreds). I called and emailed the store to see if they could give me some suggestions/recommendations on what I could do to get the dress to look the way Amy showed me. The store was nice to call me back to discuss the dress and I spoke with the owner Mary who said that since their seamstresses didn't do the alterations and the dress was out of state there wasn't a lot they could do. After talking for about an hour she agreed that it sounded like there was a misunderstanding between Amy and I. Mary said that because alterations had been made to the dress (the bustle had been put in and as well as the shoulder lift they recommended) that they might have problems reselling it but said that she wanted to make it right so that I could mail the dress back to them and she'd have her alteration people take a look at it and see what they could offer me for the dress. I realize that I wouldn't get the full amount I paid for the dress back but I appreciated the gesture to make it right as I was clearly deceived with how the dress could look. Unfortunately the very next day I received an email from Mary saying she had changed her mind and that it would be impossible for them to resell the dress (although she said yesterday that they have the exact same dress in the store and the alterations done are alterations that they recommend). You might think I just misunderstood Amy. After visiting several bridal seamstresses, I thought maybe I did too. But I asked all of my sisters and friends that were with me when I bought the dress, and they all agree that Amy was saying I could easily make the dress look like it did when she pulled it back. I feel like I was completely swindled. Although Mary said the consultants don't work on commission it feels like they just wanted the sale and now that time has passed they don't care that what they said was wrong - they have their money. I DO NOT recommend this dress shop to anyone as I don't feel like they can be trusted. They'll tell you that impossible alterations can be made to a dress that and then make other promises which they will go back on. Response to their comment: What you could do is stick to what you said and try to make it right. You've said in multiple other reviews that you're not liable for what the seamstress you even recommend do or charge as they aren't part of your business so I don't know why you couldn't have still looked at my dress and given me some of my money back. As you said on the phone, this was clearly a misunderstanding as Amy had the whole group that was with me believing the dress could be altered to be slimmer than it is, which clearly isn't the case (which you also agreed is not the case so I doubt your seamstress would have said any differently). I regret not taking a picture of her holding the underlayers back as proof... She never even hinted that there would be so much extra fabric that it would look awful with the crinoline removed (which is why I put it back in the dress). There is no seamstress to hold accountable as the problem is with how your employee misrepresented how the dress could be altered. read more

Not the best service. They don't seem to know their stuff and the atmosphere is very catty. They seem to be all about the business not about the bride. Which I get is important. But customer service is a really important factor when it comes to these types of things. We walked in and were not really greeted so much as seen, if that makes sense. They told us it would be a 20 minute wait even though we had an appointment. We then started to look at some of the dresses they had and immediately knew it wasn't worth our time. We dropped in to Malmrose Bridal, without an appointment just to peak at their assortment and they welcomed us, and even let my daughter try on dresses that day. So patient and kind. My daughter had looked other places, some of them very pushy asking us what we wanted to spend and not what kind of dress she was looking for, here they asked the right questions and helped her find exactly what she was looking for. We especially loved Mary, she was so wonderful to work with. The dress arrived early, the alterations were also very timely. The zipper on her dress bag broke and they quickly replaced it for her. Sadly, I did not have a positive experience at Malmrose Bridal, in fact, it was not fun at all and my bridal party and I were actually extremely disappointed. This is not a 1 star rating but I'm required to select at least one in order to post this review. I went into this experience thinking I would end up getting my dress here since we bought my daughter's dress here last year and it was a positive experience for us. However, with my daughter, the owner was there and she made the difference. I made an appointment several days in advance and was asked to provide photos of dresses I was interested in that I'd found online, as well as my size and budget. I did this and provided about a dozen pictures. I expected to go in and for my consultant to have dresses ready for me. When we arrived, they again asked my budget, size and dress styles I liked, and was then taken back to a dressing room where I was asked to sit down on a stool in the dressing room and the young lady asked me to tell her about myself. I understand she was trying to make it personal, but it didn't feel genuine and actually felt awkward. I undressed, was measured, and was asked to wear gloves while I tried on dresses since they are all 'take home ready' is what I was told (my daughter was not asked to wear gloves). Then another girl brought two dresses. I asked to not try on the first one because it was not even within the style of dress I liked, even though I sent multiple pics and again explained what I liked when I arrived. I tried on the second dress and it was okay but not my size (it was much larger) and it had to be pinned in the back. This was also a point of contention because my understanding was that Malmrose carries dresses in all sizes, however, I didn't find that to be the case at all. They wouldn't even fasten the buttons up in the back and I was told it was because they didn't want it to stretch the elastic (not sure how that would happen when the dress was larger than I was). They had to call in another girl to pin it (I had 3 girls total, all doing different things, one getting dresses, one putting dresses away and measuring me, and the third who would pin in the back). It's hard to see how a dress will look on you when it's huge. I was brought two more dresses, one was $500 over my budget and I tried on the second. Again, they would not fasten it up in the back and only pinned it. I didn't love either dress I tried on. By now, it had been 40 minutes and I had only tried on two dresses. I stood waiting in the dressing room for long periods as I waited for the young girl to find a dress. I asked if it was possible to speed things up a little and I was asked to put on a little robe and walk around the store and find a dress myself, which I was shocked about. I'm glad no one else was in the store but us because I was not fully dressed. Again, I thought they would have dresses ready for me based on the pics I sent. I found one dress I was semi-interested in and didn't end up trying it on because it was a size 22 and much larger than me, once again. I thought there would be dresses in all sizes, but I was wrong. I tried on one more dress after that and was then told that was all they had for me to try on. So, I got dressed and was extremely happy to get out of there. The young girls did not seem to be prepared, or honestly, to really care about making the experience fun. It just seemed like they felt like they were there just to do a job and didn't have any passion about what they were doing. It was a terrible experience and I would not recommend Malmrose Bridal. We ended up going back to Mary's Bridal and purchased an amazing dress there and it was a fantastic experience!! I would highly recommend Mary's Bridal! Fun music was playing that my daughter chose. They took such great care of her and were so professional, kind, caring and aware of her needs at all times. Malmrose bridal is a beautiful, bright salon that was extremely pleasant to shop in! Everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly, very pleasant. The store has a huge selection and an onsite alterations department that is happy to jump in and consult on any changes you are thinking about making. The sales staff was low pressure and seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. I loved how enthusiastic they were about shoes and accessories - they focused on making a great overall look for every bride! The only downside was alterations - they were more expensive than average around SLC, and the staff made a couple of comments about how I needed to change my undergarments because they were showing after alterations, but that I couldn't change them without getting charged for alterations again because the dress would fit differently (it didn't, so that was fine!). Everything worked out perfectly in the end, and the staff at Malmrose went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect for my wedding. read more
