Just wanted to share the awful customer service at this establishment. I walked in with my pet for a scheduled appointment and was completely ignored by the receptionist. I believe her name is Colleen. She was doing other things but never even made eye contact or acknowledged that I was there. She is the most unfriendly person and shouldn't be at the desk as a customer service representative. I don't think I will return. To be treated so poorly is just not acceptable. We are so lucky to have such a great group of people who take care of our pup! From the receptionists, to the veterinarian technicians, and veterinarians themselves, the staff here never fails to make us feel important with each visit. Pickles (our pug) is always greeted so kindly by Peggy or Carly at the front desk. We've mainly worked with LVT Jean, and Dr. Michelle on the majority of our visits, they handle Pickles so well and make each visit effortless. If needed- they will even trim his nails for us at no charge. MAH also provides daycare and boarding services, we dropped Pickles off for daycare once and he came back happy as ever. Also since we are a US Navy family, we receive a military discount each visit. Bonus! Choose MAH as your vet for your furry friends, you won't regret it! read more

My experiences with Malta Animal Hospital, including the most recent, have been outstanding. I began bringing my cats here after I moved to NY in early 2014. All of the staff are caring and knowledgeable and appointment times are readily available and flexible. I love that the client services staff and technicians recognize me and my cats. Dr. Jake Zaidel in particular managed care for one of our cats through an extended illness, up to and including helping him pass on peacefully in an emergency euthanasia just yesterday. Dr. Jake is a great people person too, and handled my husband and I very well during this trying time. We will definitely continue to bring our other cat, and any future pets, to Malta Animal Hospital. read more

I do not feel I would recommend this business. I took my nearly 12 week old pup there (third visit) for his lyme and rabies vaccines. Prior to going I noticed his fecal was a little runny and he didn't seem to have a lot of "pep" in him. Figured he was a little under the weather or something but since we were already going to the vet I thought I would just mention it. They took his temperature and he was running a small fever so they decided not to administer his vaccines. This instead turned into a diagnosis of diarrhea. Given that, the routine visit I was already scheduled for turned into a "sick" visit ($26 more, total for that line item $56). They then recommended a simple 8 minute blood test for tick panel heartworm ($63). The test was negative but as a precaution I better give him two types of medicine ($58.87) and also drop off another fecal sample ($39.90). The vet spoke fast and I was too reluctant to question any of this. None of the various costs were explained to me until I walked out and received my invoice; much to my surprise. It was a large bill and I didn't even receive the necessary vaccines. I questioned the sick visit there but ended up paying and going home. As I thought more about it on my drive back, I called them when I got home. I didn't understand if this was truly necessary and wanted to know if I could decline and return the medicine. They said this wasn't their policy but would make an exception. They didn't understand why I would because of the possibility for parasites etc. However, I stated that I was given medicine for that two weeks prior. I was told there are different types of parasites and this could be something else. Needless to say, I felt like a bad pet owner if I returned the medicine. LESSON LEARNED. Question them and everything they "recommend" isn't necessary. If this wasn't a routine visit I surely would not called them to make a special "sick app't" until after 24-36 hours of monitoring my dog. His fecal sample was already looking fine the next morning (12 hours later) and I hadn't given him the medicine. read more

Malta Animal Hospital has the best care for your pet. My cat almost lost her life due to a severe allergic reaction to meds. Dr. Kara Sedacca had to perform a blood transfusion and saved her life. She notified me step by step on everything she did with my cat. The other vets are equally topnotch. Even after my cat left their week long care, Dr Sedacca phoned me a couple of times to check on how she was doing. They are caring and extremely capable of giving your pet the best care needed. The vet techs are equally accomplished. I had the pleasure of dealing with Joann and can't praise her enough. The staff here at Malta Animal Hospital are a pleasure to do business with and I recommend them highly. read more

Never answered their phone. And it was during business hours. When I finally did get through I got hung up on. Not pleased at all

My dog has always been prone to health issues and just before thanksgiving we started dealing with something new. She was constantly licking and itching at red and irritated spots forming on her legs and mouth and was clearly uncomfortable. My previous vet told me to give her more steroids and antibiotics (even tho I had not gotten through the other bottles of pills she kept giving me) and rub some itching cream on her spots. It was clear their help was getting me nowhere. I began losing hope and getting stressed that I could not stop my dogs suffering so my father recommended I get a second opinion at the Malta Animal Hospital and I could not be happier. They immediately ran blood tests and took stool samples and suggested they run a few more tests. I got answers back in just a few short hours and I am confident now that my dog is finally receiving the care she needs to get better. I am happy to say that I will bring all my pets from here on out to the Malta animal hospital. There are not enough words to express how great the staff is here! read more
