There calzones and pizzas are the best in Colorado. I've been going there for over 30 years. It's a must try.

They're priced reasonable. They taste awesome. It's a must try. You can dine in or get it to go. Fast friendly customer service.

Homestyle Calzone (Small) Homestyle

I have LOVED this place since I was a kid! Now that I live in FL, Mama Alvino's is an absolute must go-to restaurant while in CO. They have always had the tastiest, perfectly stuffed calzones with homemade sauce and I've been chowing down on some Mama Alvino's since I was a kid. I highly recommend the homestyle calzone. I add green peppers and ask for extra sauce on the side. The calzones are always fresh out of the oven and soft on the inside, but slightly crunchy on the outside - perfection imo. It's a smaller, cozy restaurant and the staff are always super friendly! The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are very generous. Looking forward to visiting again soon!!

Rated well on the yumm meter we couldnt decide spaghetti or calzone so we got both. I had the big mama stuffed with meat and veggies, my wife got the home style also jam packedwith goodness. Very clean inside and roomy, staff was funny and attentivr. So why no 5 ? It gives them somthing to earn on our next visit.

One of the biggest secrets in Aurora. From the sandwiches, to the Calzones all the way down to the pizza, order some things to eat there & order again to take some home. #Winning!!

Pineapple, jalapeños, pepperoni, and mushrooms

Wow, wow, wow! I decided on some sit down pizza, locale of course. Mama did not disappoint. The crust is so fresh and every bite tastes homemade, and full of love and tradition. The toppings made available are plentiful and all blend so well together. I don't even like pineapple on pizza but here at Mama Alvino's, it's just that good. All the well known pizza chains have lost my business for good, they simply can't compete.

Good home style pizza spot in Aurora. Came on a Sunday night, no wait and fast service. Cheese bread was delicious and so was the pepperoni mushroom pizza we ordered. Definitely would come back.

I have been eating calzones from Mama Alivinos since I was in high school 1981. They are still the best.

While I can only give the (apparently family-run) DiCicco's three stars as a restaurant experience from my present foodie perspective, I suspect we'll always look at our memories of our meal there fondly. And the service rates an additional star. The food is . . . like that in a cheesy red-sauce place in flyover country in the Seventies. Not like Nonna used to make, not what we cook at home and certainly not like you're going to find at almost any upscale Italian restaurant of the present-day. But, you'll get a LOT of it, and they don't hold back on the cheese. It's like a happy memory of childhood . . . but not a foodie experience of the Twenties. Cocktails are solid - just like Uncle Art used to make in the Seventies (don't tell Mom I had a taste). The service? Couldn't be better - friendly, down-home, hustling. The room? Enormous - cavernous, even. With a hysterical wall-sized projection TV blasting cheesy concert videos from Italy in the Eighties. And full to the brim with happy dressed-up customers wolfing down the eats. Pricing is reasonable - most certainly not inexpensive. Okay, so: Overall: 4 stars Food: 3 Cocktails: 4 Service: 5 Room: 3 Pricing: 3 We only got to experience DiCicco's due to a disastrous clusterfrack trapping us overnight in DEN (grr). Got a room at an airport business hotel and walked over to this non-chain diamond shining on the prairie . . . and the DiCicco's experience simply swept away our traveller exhaustion and grumpiness - a fact that is remarkable and for which we'll always be grateful. It is not the kind of place we usually go, but if you're trapped nearby, I'd heartily encourage you let DiCicco's make it all better.

Our schedule meant takeout was the only option, and in hindsight, we timed it perfectly. We placed our order around 5:15p on a Saturday evening and learned they stop accepting takeout orders once the kitchen gets slammed. Given how small and intimate the restaurant is, that makes complete sense. The dining room only has a handful of tables, a cozy little bar, and a tucked-away patio that feels surprisingly secluded despite being in a strip mall (don't let this deter you). From start to finish, the ordering and pickup experience was seamless. The staff was warm and welcoming, our food was ready exactly when promised, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly. We ordered the crispy eggplant along with the bucatini and meatballs. Overall, both dishes were enjoyable and clearly made with care. The crispy eggplant had a nice texture but could have used a bit more seasoning or punch of flavor. The bucatini was satisfying, though the meatballs leaned a little dry and lacked that flavor pop for my taste. The accompanying ricotta was creamy and delicious, but I was hoping for a more pronounced lemon note. Even with those small critiques, we really enjoyed our experience. Bettola has the kind of inviting neighborhood feel that makes you want to come back, and next time we'd love to dine in and soak up the atmosphere instead of taking our meal home.

We started with the burrata based on Yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. Super fresh tasting, and the focaccia paired with it perfectly. It's an upcharge but worth it, and you aren't at a place like this to pinch pennies anyways. We both chose the rigatoni, we had a heavy lunch, and it was perfect. The sauce was deep and hearty and the pasta was exactly al dente. We split a strawberry guacamole sorbet and glad we did, it was larger than expected and absolutely delicious. Place has the feel of a modern restaurant, very sleek. My only complaint was that we were seated next to a room with a large group and it was hard to hear each other talk, but nothing to be done about that. Really great place with a highly focused menu that knocks it out of the park. J.Ja

We started with the burrata, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST burrata I've ever had. Not the best in Denver. The best, period. Backed that up with a solid salad, then moved into a homemade pasta with ragù that had no business being that good. Finished with dessert and walked out wondering why we'd even bothered with Utria in the first place. Here is the thing though... sometimes you need a bad experience to land in the right place. Tavernetta didn't need our five stars: but it earned them anyway.
