"So, rock me mama like a wagon wheel Rock me mama any way you feel Hey... mama rock me" (Darius Rucker) Mama sure knows how to rock in the kitchen because her food menu is an embarrassment of riches. Let's take a look at what Mama's kitchen whips up in the morning. How about (are you kidding me?) SIXTEEN different breakfast sandwiches and nine omelets/wraps/platters. Already had breakfast? Fine, let's see what her lunch options look like. How do 65 sandwich/grinder options grab you. They run the gamut from favorites like an Italian combo and Meatball Parmigiana to more exotic types like a Caprese Panini and the Calabria with a chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe, melted Provolone and hot fried peppers and oil. We wanted to pick up something to split for dinner later in the weekend and went with one of our favorites - a Meatball Parmigiana Grinder ($9.95). It was big. It had plenty of sauce and cheese, and most importantly, plenty of big meatball halves. Absolutely no skimping on the meatballs. They were plentiful and tasted great. The Italian bread was top quality as well. Half of that grinder was absolutely enough for a satisfying dinner portion. And considering both of us had dinner for their $9.95 price, the grinder was a sensational value. Thanks, Mama, for an awesome, delicious, and economical dinner for two.

This is a cute place on the corner of Post Rd and Noroton Ave in Darien and seems to draw a lot of local traffic. Inside it is fairly roomy and has a large selection of both cold and hot subs and Sandwiches. I decided to go with the Chicken Cutlet Parm on a Wedge with fries. The prices are extremely decent for the location and the quantity is very generous as well. As for the taste, yes have been craving it since my last visit, so I fully endorse!

Delicious sandwiches. Very buzzy on Saturday mornings! Their homemade nuggets are incredible!

I'm a sucker for good Deli's. That's what Carmelas is, friendly people serving tasty sandwiches and well seasoned potato cones.the place looked clean and three workers checked in with me about my order while I was waiting...never had such good service at a Deli.

Delicious Reuben Sandwich and warm, attentive service from behind the counter. Surprisingly reasonable prices in an upscale neighborhood.

It feels hidden in the sense that you could drive right past it and miss it, but once you find it, it is absolutely worth it. There is parking out front which is a plus. Inside, it is exactly what you would expect from a classic mom and pop Italian deli. Small, warm, welcoming, decently lit, and clean. They also have a huge menu with tons of options, not even counting everything available at the deli counter. I took my time looking over the menu and the staff was patient while I decided. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese with black pepper on a wedge and a bacon, egg, and cheese lightly toasted on white bread. The wedge was the highlight. Big portion, very filling, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. It was cooked and put together really well. My only small critique is that the bread was very soft and the eggs were falling out a bit, but I also did not ask for it toasted so that may be on me. The bacon, egg, and cheese on white bread was good as well. The only downside was that it was very lightly toasted, almost not toasted at all, and it used bacon pieces instead of strips. Overall, this is an excellent local deli with quality food, generous portions, and a welcoming feel. I would definitely recommend stopping by, and I will absolutely be back.

I go there at least once a week and I have my favorites, right now I'm locked in on a chicken Cutlet with cheddar cheese on a buttered wedge. The sandwich is huge and every bite delectable. Just delicious, seriously delicious. Just talking about it makes me want to go there right now. Treat yourself to one of their many options to choose from. You can't go wrong.

Second time here because the items are 10/10…read more However, I wanted to share some feedback as a customer who truly believes this bakery has something special to offer. I don't consume pork and someone in my group requested the lady behind the counter to change her gloves before packing our bagel. The lady did change them, but when we requested her to warm the pan au chocolate, she said they warm ham etc., in the oven. She didn't ask if we are still okay with the pan au chocolate being warmed. I found this interaction a bit odd and came off in an unfriendly tone. It just seemed un-inclusive and my group didn't feel welcomed. A suggestion - is it possible to change parchment paper's etc if ham is warmed in the same oven/toaster? Personally, it seemed like the worker was offended I asked her to change her gloves. I hope it's a one off experience since I truly love the items you offer, but definitely hope to have a better customer experience next time.

"I got a little girl, got a baker shop She got muffins for…read moresons, she got cornbread too Sweet rolls and jelly, boys I'm tellin' you Yes, the baker shop boogie" (Willie Nix) We very much enjoyed our visit to Flour Water Salt Bread. There's loaves of bread and gorgeous pastries and grab and go pizzas and bagels and muffins everywhere. But the main reason we enjoyed our visit was Robert, whose friendly demeanor and funny personality really won us over. We ordered three pastries - a Banana Bread Tart, a Ham and Cheese Crioissant, and a Pain Au Chocolate (Croissant). Because we arrived shortly before their 1:00 closing, Robert generously tossed a Bombolini (an Italian doughnut) into our bag. So how were they? Banana Bread Cake - A+ Price $6.95 Absolutely delicious! Fresh and sticky with chunks of chocolate and banana flavor. The best of our goodies. Ham and Cheese Croissant - A Price $7.50 This huge flaky pastry was excellent with plenty of buttery layers and sprinkled baked cheese on top. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a teense more of that yummy ham filling. Chocolate Croissant - A Price $6.25 Same excellent flaky and buttery layers and generous size. But like the ham and cheese croissant, we thought a teense more of those yummy chocolate ribbons would have put it over the top. Bombolini - A Price - complimentary Imagine the delicate buttery taste of the best jelly donut you ever had, but without the jelly. Their Bombolinis are baked in filled and non-filled versions, but I gotta tell you, the unfilled version was fantastic! Thank you, Flour Water Salt Bread and Robert, for a wonderful customer experience.
