The shrimp fajitas are ok. The set up for the fajitas was good. I don't perfer the fajitas. But theyer good. The enchilidas are better imo. The steak enchilidas are good with a white sauce and some cheese melted on top. The mixed vegetables had mushrooms zucchini red onion and squash with a seasoning blend on top. The mixed veggies had alot of red onion. The guy who served me was nice. Pretty good food and service. Tip Lunch is much faster then dinner. Tip Try extra seasoning on your vegetables. Ask for cheese inside your enchilidas and sour cream sauce inside. Honestly so good I could have ate 6 of them at least. Delicious. read more

The food was good. Not great. Our biggest issue was our service. We were seated and it took 17 minutes for someone to even take our drink order and our server. Emily made it seem like every time she had to come to our table it was an inconvenience. Everyone around us got their food before us, which was very strange and at one point I had to ask for all of us to have refills on drinks because they were not brought. We had to ask for sopapillas and it took longer than anything else. They were bussing the table WHILE we were still sitting and eating. Emily the server, snapped at my wife at one point because Melissa didn't pass her the dish that had the queso in it fast enough. Everyone was kind to us but our server. Wild experience. We won't be back. The average is $22 a plate for mediocre flavor and subpar service at best. I'll take my money somewhere else with ambience where people want to serve us. read more

We always enjoy the beautiful Lake Hefner waterfront view, which creates such a relaxing atmosphere whether it's lunch, dinner, or a sunset evening out. Their homemade sangria is one of our favorites, and we love the additional salsa choices that make the experience feel unique. The homemade tamales have always been a favorite as well. Went for Sunday funday with 2 of my closest friends & waited for the patio since it was a beautiful day. Waited about 20 minutes which was no big deal. We were seated & someone came & took our drink orders & we ordered appetizers. Then our server came with waters, introduced herself, and gave us an update on drinks and apps. We shared the guacamole & loaded queso. I had a strawberry marg as did my friend and my other friend had a beer. We ordered entrees. I ordered the tamales, my friend the birria crisp and my other friend tortilla soup. We chatted, ate, drank and enjoyed each others' company. Entrees arrived hot & fresh. Everything was delicious. Had to leave review because I recently left review after going to the Norman location and it wasn't great. However, this visit to the OKC location was amazing!! Been several times and food is almost always great and it definitely was this time. The service is typically pretty solid but this time we had the best service ever!! Our waitress was Kaila and she went above and beyond. Super friendly, offered to bring us some chips and queso to take with our to go order, bagged everything for us, and just presented herself in a way that you don't see much these days. My husband and I ate lunch here Friday and both of us left most of ours on the table. I had a taco salad and he had the ground beef burrito (can't think of the menu name) and both of them were so greasy we couldn't eat it. My taco shell fell apart the minute I touched it because of grease. We spent $50 and both left hungry. read more

Family, and eventually we went back, on occasions. When my out of state family was here, they had only Wow! This tastes so good!! The hit was the cheese onion enchiladas and Ranchero beans... We went as a large group and had ample room. We were started off with complimentary chips, salsa & queso- which was so good! I ordered a Strawberry Pina Colada and was disappointed they did not have the colada mix! I ordered a Mama Rosa s Strawberry Margarita instead, which was so good and came in a frosted mug. I also had the Cozumel Cosmo which had pear vodka and was delicious. For dinner I ordered carne asada with rice and refried beans and it was perfect. I will say it was super loud there, so if you're looking for a nice quiet atmosphere this is not it hit our group was comfortable bc we could speak with fearing we were too loud. The ambiance is fantastic, we donned outside looking at the lake. Food was okay- everyone liked what they got. I had the cheese enchiladas.

*Edit: To the business owner who replied and asked me to send a private message: I can't message the business from my end so how do I send a message? You need to turn messages on! Please let the chefs know that whatever tool they are using that has black fibers it is coming off into the food. I had lunch with family yesterday and had my chicken taco salad leftovers today and found plastic, black fibers, from a brush in the restaurant's kitchen maybe? Another disappointing thing about the dish is that there wasn't much of the chicken meat in it. It was definitely less than a cup in there and filled mostly with the beans. And what was strange was that the lettuce was put at the very bottom and it got soggy. The taco salad also had unique presentation of dumping the queso, guacamole, and sour cream on top of the bowl, so if you don't like that be sure to ask for them separated. A guy who wasn't our waitress took our chips, salsa and queso, and chip plates without asking if we were done and it made us feel rushed. The chips weren't that good, but I was still enjoying the salsa! Overall, I don't think I'll come back here since finding stuff in my food put me off. read more

Got on the waitlist through Yelp. Arrived within the window and was told it would still be a 20 minute wait. Okay. We go stand outside. Two minutes later I got the text to check in. The two of us were seated at a six top. I asked the host if he was sure that was right and he said yes. Came back in less than five minutes with "so oh sorry you're actually supposed to be at this (two top) table" and moved us. Queso came out cold, tortillas were packaged. We order drinks and an appetizer. Then dinner. Our dinner arrived before the appetizer, so we canceled the appetizer. My add-on never came out either so we canceled that as well. Food was the most boring Tex-mex we've ever had. My cilantro lime rice was absolutely unseasoned, plain instant rice scattered about the plate as if it had been dropped by a claw machine. We took a chance on this place and were supremely disappointed. Two stars are for our server who was very nice in spite of all the disappointment. There are countless better places to get Tex-mex in OKC. read more

The ambiance is the best part of a visit to Mama Roja's. It sits on Lake Hefner and has spectacular views. The inside is very pretty and classy upscale. Beautifully tall columns, striking stone tile flooring, and lots of beautiful plants. The food was excellent: served hot with lots of flavor. We really enjoyed the combo fajitas. Mama Rojas's is what I would call upscale Mexican cuisine. Saying that you can expect it to be a little pricey and a high end atmosphere. No disappointment there. Being situated on Lake Hefner is picturesque all by itself. The food tastes good. However we are talking a bout a more of an Americanized Tex-Mex style rather than authentic south of the boarder. I mean come on who puts American Cheese in an enchilada? LOL So depending on your expectations of style and whether you value ambiance more than authenticity than Mama Roja's is a beautiful place to go get good tasting food but be prepared to lay down a little more cash. read more

I have to say the best thing was the chips, the salsa, and the queso. After that said to say it went downhill, we had ordered some onions and peppers that never came until the very end it took forever for tortillas to come out to the table and by the time that I had to remind them about the onions and the peppers, the tortillas in the queso were coldthe lack of attention or checking in if we needed anything was not there oh the other good thing was the rice. First time visiting here and it was amazing! We had Demi has our waitress and she absolutely went above and beyond. She made me a strawberry lemonade even though it wasn't on the menu and added a cute strawberry garnish. The lemonade was delicious as was our food. I ordered the carne asada tacos and threw some of their tomatillo avocado sauce on them I can't even describe how good this food was. I also got two meals out of it! The restaurant itself is located right on Lake Hefner so we got a beautiful view of the lake while we ate. It is also wheelchair friendly! Had no issues getting around in my chair, although the bathroom door is quite heavy for wheelchair users the staff was really on it for opening doors and making sure I could get around easily though. Well my wife loves this place! I like it ok!! My waiter was probably new? He did ok, but a few things could have been better. Even though he repeated my order back to me most of the order was wrong! It had been right years since I dined at this restaurant, now I can see why. The location was the reason I choose this place. My family was visiting for the first time and they decided on Mexican and so I decided why not have a view with dinner. That was the highlight of the meal. Service was medicore at best. The setup was terrible! A bowl of broken chips which were barely enough to dip was not a good way to start out! I think the server would have noticed that it was the bottom remnants that were in the bowl. She quickly replaced with a fresh bowl. Luckily the group wasn't hungry! My sister wanted to go to Mama Rojas for her birthday April 19. Christian was our waiter and he did such a good job waiting on us. However, my sister and I ordered the chili relleno and it was Awful!! The pepper was covered in a thick batter like someone had molded cornbread around it. There was no contents inside the pepper. When I finished my meal I had a plateful of cornbread piled up. She ordered a margarita that she would not drink because she said it tasted like kerosene. The food was phenomenal. The service was excellent, and the Ambience was relaxing and most pleasant.

My sister was in town visiting from FL and I wanted to take her to lunch somewhere with a nice view. We arrived quite early and requested a table near the window and got one of the best tables! Daria was absolutely amazing and her kindness alone would make me return. Our server Ricardo was very attentive and kept our drinks full and made sure our meal was out in a timely manner.
