The chips and salsa were also great I had the beef fajitas. Honestly, they felt a little skimpy. Flavor was fine tho. You had your choice of sides. I chose French fries .. which are of the McDonald's variety. So great :). Also had the green chile cornbread. The were muffins and were served cold. So.. cold cornbread wasn't my bag. I took a bite and left the rest. Partner ordered chicken taco and chicken enchiladas. He was surprised it was chicken nuggets in the taco . So he was disappointed. This place is Tex Mex to the max. They have happy hour every day from 3 to 6 so make sure you go try them margaritas out so good. If you're craving authentic Mexican food, this is the place to be! I wish I could give this a higher rating. The place looks incredible from the outside in. It's colorful, it's artsy and it's spacious. The food itself was just sort of okay. I ordered a "wet burrito", but it was just a burrito with enchilada sauce on it. In my mind, a wet burrito is smothered in sauce and melted cheese. Walking in on a Wednesday and sat at the bar. The heat was kicking at 78! The bartender was friendly and paid very good attention to us. Started work a blood orange margarita which I thought was too sweet. The perfect margarita was fantastic. The pork in the pork verde taco was dry but the chicken and fish tacos were outstanding. Iguana has great service again! I've always enjoyed the food and drinks, but the new manager seems to sorted out the hospitality side of things. I visited twice over the last month once for Happy Hour and once for dinner. Their HH from 3p-6pm is one of the best values around. I shared margs, queso and the corral snake salsa with friends. I went there for dinner before a downtown event because they're close to the highway and they have plenty of parking. The new management has done wonders for this classic Auto Alley spot! read more

Absolutely the freshest cornmeal tacos. I can't say enough. I normally order something new on a revisit to a restaurant but I can't get enough of the shrimp tacos. Our server didn't give us silverware, so we spent a couple of minutes looking for her. I wished they had warmed the tortillas. The taco was flavorful, but the meat was greasy with a lot of liquid. I've always loved Iguana but haven't been in awhile. We went in the middle of the day on a Saturday and there were a few tables. We were sat in the bar away from everyone so maybe that's why our server was inattentive. I ordered a chicken sour cream enchilada and a pork taco that had pineapple and cilantro. The chicken in the enchilada was dry and not shredded well. The pork taco had a weird unexpected sauce. The elotes were too limey and the corn was mushy. The Mexican potatoes were dry and hard. My husband got the cheese enchiladas with chili and it wasn't great. Our Negro Modelos were good, lol. The chips were perfectly thin and crisp. Our server didn't check on us or refill our waters. If I knew how good the roasted cauliflower taco was going to be, I would have gotten it for both tacos. I loved everything about it. It was a house made thick corn tortilla with diced up roasted cauliflower topped with pickled cabbage and crema. SO DELICIOUS. The carne asada was also good too but nothing compared to the cauliflower. I got the green (cilantro) rice and retried beans. Also both very good. Our waiter did notice this when he was finally tabbing us out. I had the skinny burrito which was A-OK but know it is more of a wrap than a burrito. I would order it again especially with the sides of the elote and grilled veggies. (Seriously, you must order the elote here.) Others had the nachos (HUGE), enchiladas, a smothered burrito and the chopped avocado salad. I would order the salad on my next visit. I do love the surroundings and the vibe here. But, given the chance to eat lunch anywhere in this area, I would choose elsewhere. That is not necessarily a slam against Iguana, there's just a lot of great places in this area. Horrible service. I made a reservation and we arrived on time and nothing was prepared for us. The waiter never actually introduced herself and never came by but to drop off orders. We always had to waive her down to receive any assistance. I've been to this place many times and I've never seen such horrible service before. We had to keep asking for obvious things. You really can't beat the prices here. There's rarely a long wait, the food is good, and the service is usually fast. I usually skip the menu entrees and go for a side of beans, rice, tortillas, and guac. The vegetarian menu items are limited.
