I visited Mama Tequila for the first time on a Tuesday night with friends expecting it may be crowded for taco Tuesday, but there were only a handful of tables filled and we were seated right away. The atmosphere is lively with bright lights and cool art throughout the restaurant. I ordered the chicken taquitos which came with two dipping sauces. They were delicious and had a great crunch, And I really liked what I think was an avocado sauce. My friends both got quesadillas, which came with rice and beans and they said everything tasted amazing. I'd love to visit again for drinks and to try their street tacos! read more

Have never been very impressed by Mama Tequila ever, but I still decided to go back yesterday with a group of girls. We were there dancing and out of nowhere the bouncer came over & grabbed one of my friends arm & just pushed her out. So aggressively, width no explanation! What kind of a place does that when you're just dancing. Worst atmosphere, MUSIC SUCKS, bouncers are so rude. Won't be back & will tell every person I can about this awful night there. read more

I'm new to Lexington! My first time here will most definitely have been my last. I've heard some good things about this place so I decided to give it a shot. I went for the bar/night life and when asked for my ID was immediately turned away for being out of state. Exact words were "I've never seen a New York ID has to be fake". I understand the out of state thing it's happened before but didn't ask for a second form or anything just had to be fake when I'm just not from kentucky and I'm 22 years old. Truly the very worst service imaginable. Our waitress was Mavi Z according to the receipt. The restaurant was Saturday night busy, but I would assume they should be used to that due to their location. She was rude from the beginning for no reason & it only got worse. Everything seemed to be a huge inconvenience to her & all her responses were snippy. To top it off, my food arrived 30 minutes after everyone else's dish arrived. When I asked to have it canceled because who wants to eat alone, she basically bit my head off. I mean, I was just wondering if I was going to get to eat dinner which seemed like an ok question for me to ask in a restaurant ‍ Another server did eventually bring my dish and I was charged for it even though I asked to have it canceled. This spot was very average. My friends and I came for Sunday lunch. They had music but it was really too loud for a Sunday afternoon. The food and service was just so so. Food was pretty bland. Buyer of meal has points but no attempt to help him redeem and female server said it's linked to credit card but no way helped him to redeem as server said it would prompt us. More points added to account. Our actual server couldn't check use out. Margarita ordered was lime on the rocks, was on rocks had a blood orange on it and tasted Smokey like mescal. Took complaining to our waiter 3 times and 3 other staff members to get it right and was replaced. Ordered a 2nd margarita and not as good as 2nd one brought. I wish I could this place a 0 star. I was out on a Saturday night with a group of of 5 girls just dancing. I was pushing and singled out by the a random bouncer who came up to me for a no reason and told me to leave without any explanation. I will be reporting this to the owner. Server asked if I wanted shredded or grilled chicken. He failed to mention that grilled chicken was an additional $2 charge. Someone else at my table also ordered a quesadilla with grilled chicken and fajita vegetables which he failed to mention was an additional $2.50 charge.
