A beautiful entrance with artificial flowers covering the walls, a heart of red flowers. Inside a collection of pottery resembling relics of pre-Columbian times. The menu was limited. I swayed between steaks, and decided on Puerquito, a dish for two. Slow roasted pork, rice & peas, onion escabeche, maduros. Delicious. I had left-overs for two more meals. The puerquito was huge and could've fed 2-3 people. I would expect a slow-roasted pork to be softer and juicier, but it was dry unless you're eating straight fat. My wife and I visited on a Friday around 5:30 pm, it was not crowded at all, we got seated by the window with an outdoor view of the highway. For our appetizer, we ordered the Chicharoncitos (pork bites) however I realized after that they gave me Ceviche de chicharron which was totally different than what I was expecting as it came mixed with yuca, cilantro and lime sauce. I will give that a 1 out of 5. For our entree, we ordered Churrasco (grilled steak) with a side of white, black beans and a side of sweet plantains, my wife had the Chillo Boca Chica which is the fried red snapper with rice and peas. The fish was pretty well flavor however the steak could have used a little bit more seasoning. However we had a great time and will visit again. Additionally, there was a piece of glass in my friend's drink, which was extremely concerning. We ordered several appetizers which did NOT come out. I booked for NYE at 7:30 pm for my birthday dinner. I never received a call, a text, no form of communication to express that they had an event and would be closing at 8:30 pm to service the guests at that event. I was running behind and asked my friend to call at 6 pm to see if it was possible to push our slot back 15 minutes. The host told her that it was fine but that we would have to leave at 8:30 pm, which we were fine with. When I came in, the hostess at the front very much made me feel as though she didn't want to service myself or my friends. Stating that she didn't have a reservation under my name and once I showed her my confirmation email, I can't say that she was exactly moved. She went to get her manager, my friend told her the situation, and the manager said it was fine but we'd have to be gone by 8:30/8:45 pm latest, to which we agreed. The manager left and so did the hostess, once the hostess returned she came with a man (who I assume runs the establishment) and two other men (for what, I'm not sure) and we were told we couldn't be seated because of the upcoming event. My friend re-established that the host gave her the ok and should've communicated that they weren't able to service us before the event. I, also, stated that I should've been communicated with prior so I can proper accommodations and the "boss" stated they have an automated system so essentially taking no fault for the situation.
