I wasn't scared off by the reviews. I had the salmon at the bar with a couple glasses of wine. Everything was great. I do think they need to up their wine offerings, but it was fine. Each time I travel to NJ for work, dining at Blossom is a must. Conveniently located inside of the Hilton hotel, so I don't even need to leave the property after my tiring flight. Michelle, my favorite server, now knows exactly what I like and always prepares my cocktail perfectly. My salmon was cooked perfectly to my liking, and the side of spinach was a healthy taste of heaven. The food is fresh and delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. Was staying at the hotel on a Saturday night and I stopped in to look at the menu. I decided to get the half chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Wanted a drink after staying in the hotel. The bar is definitely smaller , not many seats and the setup is an awkward line across. We opted to sit at a table instead which was better. They have a few TVs playing sports. Seemed like most people stopped in before going to their room for dinner or a drink. Only one bar tender but everything seemed handled. We got a cocktail and glass of wine. Cocktail was fine, wine was just awful and tasted old. Unable to speak to how the food was. This place is convenient, that's what it had going for it. read more

Was in East Brunswick for work and stayed at a nearby hotel. This was the only restaurant within walking distance. Blossom closes after lunch then reopens at 5 for dinner. I sat at the bar because I travel alone. The restaurant servers brought the food to the bar. I had Happy Hour deals Wings Garlic Parmesan and Bang-Bang Shrimp. I only recommend one of those for one person as the servings were good sized. They were both ok but the conversation was fun with the bartender and customers. read more

Located at the Hilton in East Brunswick this is where you have breakfast at the hotel as well as lunch or dinner. The service is spotty depending on when you come. I came for lunch and had the caesar salad with chicken. It was massively overdressed but the chicken was cooked nice. Overdressing a salad is a fundamental reason why a lot of salads are not very good. I also started with the cream of mushroom soup. It had a bold mushroom flavor and a creaminess to it that hit the spot. This is not my favorite type of soup but was surprised by it in a good way. This isn't 5 star dining and so don't expect that. When you are stuck at the hotel with no other options give it a try. It will fill you up at a good price. Hotel food usually stinks anyway but this one is edible. read more

This place inside the Hilton East Brunswick is an adequate choice for a meal. If you are staying at the Hilton, it is quite convenient. I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express and this was still the only walkable option for me in this ex-urban location. This restaurant is rather typical of scaled-up hotel restaurants in that it is slightly overpriced and, at the same time, somewhat lower in quality. I would, again, use the word adequate. I had two appetizers including a salad and the Acapulco Shrimp. Both were pretty good and I especially enjoyed the shrimp. The service was actually good and I had no complaints about that aspect. But the bill with food, drink, tax and tip was over $30. It was a below-average value in my estimation when all was said and done. All things considered, I think a 3-star rating is fair as this place is really one either for those wanting convenience or who are a "captive audience". read more

7pm on a Monday night. The restaurant is 25-30% occupied and, "the kitchen is backed up". It's 8:32 and appetizers ordered at 7:15 still aren't here. We got up to tell the manager we were leaving and his response, "to be honest with you, we only have one person behind the line so we are really behind." Being honest was achievable at 7:30 - not an hour later. Just before 9 we received our order. The flatbread pizza was a close second behind Kroger brand frozen. The salad was reasonably fresh and my colleagues found their dishes to be good, though hunger was a key factor. The restaurant comped a good chunk of the meal cost. Nice, but as a business dinner 'who paid' was not a concern. A reasonably quick bite, business discussions concluded and then a return to the room to plow through email and such was job 1,2,& 3. Bottom line: A reminder why I rarely eat at hotel restaurants. read more

Driving home from work last week I had a hankering for Asian food, in fact any eastern or south eastern style would have sufficed and my nearest target close to home was Blossom Restaurant on Howard Boulevard. I ordered online and opted for pick up since I was already sitting in the parking lot. Corn Chicken Soup, Vegetable Spring Rolls and General Tao Chicken. 10 minutes later I was prompted to pick up and walked into a nice restaurant. There were a few tables seated and the ambiance was soft with low lighting and dark decor. The food unfortunately carried the dark and dismal along for the ride. The soup was a mostly flavorless thickened chicken flavored stock, whisked egg whites and maybe two corn kernels. The spring rolls looked and tasted like something from BJ's or Costco and the chicken was not nearly the General Tao that I know and love. This one was a cross between sweet and sour and something out of a 1970's homemaker cookbook. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't memorable. Personally I wouldn't go back. read more

Basic hotel restaurant with a great wine selection which is unusual & friendly servers. I've eaten here twice & enjoyed my food both times. The french onion soup was good but I wish they let the cheese drip down the sides of bowl as I love pulling that off & eating it! The house salad which chicken was excellent but I wish they chopped the leaves up instead of giving me very large whole pieces of lettuce. They get slammed in there easy when large tables show up so bring your patience if your food takes some time - it's pretty good - enjoy! read more

We took a first time a six days vacation to East Coast New York. On the fifth night before we flew back to LA, we stayed at the Hilton. We were with a tour group and had Chinese buffet for about four times cause we were taken to the buffet by the tour guide. I was so sick of the buffet or Chinese food by the fifth day. Thank God we decided to eat American on our last night. I ordered the veggie quesadilla and the wife had fettuccine with ravioli. It was the best veggie quesadilla and fettuccine with ravioli I ever had and the portions were very very generous and the prices were very reasonable. I am not sure about other people but I highly recommend this restaurant. Although the restaurant was pretty empty cause it was a Thursday night about 7 pm but the service was excellent. read more

I rating this a 4 star for the amazing service! Joseph was very attentive and payed attention to our order details (my wife generally deviates from the menu). The food was okay. I had pan-seared wasabi crusted tuna. The tuna was very flavorful but over cooked. My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad but wanted more veggies. Joseph said that wasn't a problem. The late of steamed vegetables included baby carrots steamed to perfection, perfect broccoli and multicolored cauliflower that was very tasty. I would leave 0 stars if I could. I was staying at the Hilton for a business trip and it was a rainy night so I thought I would give the resident restaurant a try. Big mistake. When I arrived the bar area was full but dining room was mostly empty with only two-three other parties and it was self seating. I sat down and no one greeted me for 10 minutes, then someone brought me water. Ten minutes later I had to flag someone down to bring me a menu. A while later I had to flag someone down to place an order. 45 minutes later my food never came (and by this time, two new parties walked in and had similar treatment). I decided to leave, and I felt I was being rude so I was looking for a manager or server to explain that I was leaving and to cancel my order. Couldn't even find a single soul! I would like to add that during my time there I saw 2 servers and 3 managers wandering about. God forbid they had a full dining room. Avoid this place. read more

Failed to do the ONE JOB every restaurant does. I went here with five other people, ordered food and literally never got the food brought to the table. Everyone else did and the waitress never came back to check on us. Fast forward 25 minutes later when she comes to give us the check and I inform her I never even got my food...she then asked if I still wanted it or something else (I needed to leave and just told her I had no time and to make sure not to charge me for it). Here's the real kicker.. I did have a drink during this time and when it came time to pay the bill, I had no intention of tipping her but they included gratuity! Go somewhere else. read more

I was definitely weary of this place based on the reviews. However, I couldn't have had a better experience. Ahmed was my server and was extremely attentive and kind. I had a simple risotto dish and it was just fine. Service and ambiance was excellent. I could tell that everyone (not just me) was being tended to. I can't say the place is Asian fusion by any means, but I still enjoyed my meal and even more so, the service. read more

We ate here due to its convenience in the hotel and almost immediately regretted it. Service poor, food worse and manager disengaged. My son's salmon was obviously frozen, past it's prime and undercooked. He felt ill after eating several bites and realizing it was off. We sent it back and requested a substitute meal, but he was too ill by the time it got there. We were then ignored and requested manager in order to get our bill. By the time he got there we realized just how poor the service was and requested the meal be comped. He grudgingly did. My second son reported he felt ill on the drive back to his apartment.
