Unfortunately no roti was available so we tried the dry curry mee with chicken, seafood laksa lemak, fried chicken and a taro pudding for dessert. The dry curry mee was very good but we weren't that impressed with the laksa - it had a more buttery rather than coconut milk flavour and they used short fat rice noodles ("mouse tail" noodles) which are not our favourite. The food here is Malay style rather than Chinese Malaysian style so I don't think that this is the place to eat noodles. We're going to come back and try the nasi lemak (which looked amazing) and some roti! They have a good coffee machine and use Wolff Coffee which was excellent.

I would definitely rate the food as some of the best Malaysian/Indonesian food in Brisbane.

The serving was a bit small and my hubby was still hungry after his meal which usually doesn't happen. It's pretty disappointing - but I'm glad we ordered the roti too. The restaurant runs quite busy and it's not unusual to have a line on busier days (such as weekends). This time, we ordered two Malaysian staples for lunch - Nasi Lemak and the Roti Canai with Teh Tarik as a drink on the side. The Roti Canai came out very quickly. The roti itself had a nice fluff and butteriness that, while easy to break, had the right amount of chewy texture when eaten. The sauces that accompany (sambal, dhal, and curry) are also well complemented. The only downside is the serving size, one piece of roti, for what is, around $8. While this may be sufficient for some, the majority would be better ordering a smaller side (e.g. chicken skewer satay) to accompany. (Rating: 4/5) The Nasi Lemak was a bit disappointing. It comes with peanuts with fried anchovies, cucumber slices, sambal, half an egg, and beef rendang (which can be swapped for fried chicken or curry chicken). The rice was well done; however, the anchovies were a bit chewier than I would have liked and sambal tasted a bit more on the sweeter side/lacked a real spicy hit. The beef rendang felt a bit tough and dry for my liking. That said, the serving portions were good value for money here (it was a fair bit to eat for one person). (Rating 3.5/5). We also ordered cold Teh Tarik (a pulled milk tea that is often served in Malaysia and Singapore). This was okay and had a nice milky texture; however, we felt that it was overpriced given the amount of ice that was given (more than half the drink was large ice cubes). There's a charge if you request no ice. (Rating 3.5/5) Service is a bit hit and miss. The place gets busy and is set up for efficiency, so you end up looking at the menu, writing down a selection, and then pressing a buzzer for the waiter to come and collect. While service can be quick and efficient, it can be a bit robotic and sometimes you feel that you have to make yourself known/press the buzzer a few times to get attention. (Rating 3.5/5) At the end of the day, the experience was okay, and there is a lot of variety to try on the menu. I'd come back, but it wouldn't be somewhere that I'd (a) join a long line and wait for, (b) take my Malaysian parents, or (c) take a date I'm trying to impress.
