If you're looking for empanadas, Mama Empanadas Woodhaven location is a nice chill spot. Plenty of seating for two or for groups. Orders are made fresh to order nice and hot! And the empanadas are slamming, I love the rice and beans empanadas but they have many varieties of Empanadas. Whatever type of empanada you're craving, they probably make it. The green sauce goes amazing with the empanadas, they have another sauce but I passed. The cashiers/hosts are very friendly, helpful, and cute ! So if you're up on Jamaica Ave by the Woodhaven area, stop by and check them out you won't regret it! Real talk!

The little rude fat girl with a bonnet on at work

Loved this place when they first opened. Now theres a little fat girl with the bonnet. that's always rude you say hi she says how can I help she never smile never greet. After I placed my order the slim girl asked me what sauce I asked her for pink and green she tossed in one of each. I opened the bag and had to ask for napkins and told her I have for empanadas and needed more sauce she said one sauce per empanada so why'd you give me two the first time smh. This is my last time coming to this location.

I was driving by in the neighborhood and saw Mama's Empanadas, a Colombian restaurant and decided to stop in because I was hungry. I love empanadas so I wanted to try their empanadas. The restaurant is very clean and have plenty of seating for dine In customers. I was surprised by the extensive menu options to choose from. I particularly like that there so many unique varieties to choose from that I would've never considered in an empanada. I ordered 5 in total, 1 broccoli and cheese, 1 beef, 1 beef and potatoes and 2 chicken and potatoes, all in corn flour. They also offer them with the wheat flour option. The added bonus is they are made to order and not just sitting around under a heat lamp. All of my choices were absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my first experience at Mama's Empanadas.

Came here yesterday because my friend suggested it. I tried the cheeseburger, chicken fajita, and the Biagra empanadas and they did not disappoint! They were so good I have to go back. They prices were great too. I wish there was a spot in Nassau, I'd be there all the time.

While I love the empanadas from mamas I am not sure what is going on with the staff in the counter. Either they're over there job or simply have an attitude because they think it's attractive. From being available to take our order to packing our order with another of the side sauces. Everything seemed to be an issue. Well I have no interest in returning to this location and to be honest I haven't stepped into another mamas empanadas since.

Decent empanadas. A little small for the price. Wait time a little long but I don't mind because they are made fresh which I prefer! Will be back.

I want to say the empanadas are always amazing from Mama's. This is my first time at this location. The two stars are for the customer service. There was one customer waiting for her order. The two cashiers were brain dead, I and three of my companions walk in, are reading the menu and 5-8 minutes and my friend had to ask if we can order now. They didn't greet us or let us know they were ready to take our order. My friend ordered first, the cashier was not actively listening and even when I was ordering we were repeating ourselves and her answer to our questions were short and tinged with a bit of distain but we waited for our order. While our third friend was ordering the woman waiting asked aggressively if her order was the one sitting at the "ready counter" behind the registers, and the one cashier taking the order, rudely tells the woman to "wait" the customer points out that she's the only one waiting for her order. And with an attitude the cashier reluctantly hands off the customer her food. No empathy or apology! I ordered The Chili Dog, The Cuban, The Meatball Parmigian and a beef corn shelled Empanada. When I received my order and inspect everything, I ordered 4 empanadas, and saw I was only given two sauce packets, one pink and one green. I went to ask for more pink sauces, and Valeria, a third woman that came out to distribute the orders asks to inspect my bag. I point out I only received two packets. She aggressively states its because she had just packed it herself she takes my bag and checks inside of it to make sure I had the two packets. When I asked her AGAIN for two more sauces, she said there was a packet policy where it was 3 sauce limit for every 3 empanadas so which did I want and that there was a fee for additional sauces. I asked how does it make sense to limit sauce amounts and to charge customers, she points to a sign that was somewhat hidden behind the registers and hanging plexiglass. So I trade my green sauce for two pinks. When my friend who had ordered first gets her order, she asks Valeria for her water, Valeria rudely asks, "did you order a water?" My friend lost her cool and states Valeria should've reviewed the receipt properly rather than question her. Unfortunately, my friend had to lose her cool and called Valeria out on being a rude BITCH and recommended that Valeria please improve her customer service skills. She had ordered the Sancocho de Gallina and side of rice, according to her the soup lacked salt and the rice wasn't cooked thoroughly or washed properly. Also since we parted ways after getting food, when she got home she sent me a photo of her 9 sauce packets. She ordered 8 empanadas so technically, while Valeria was being a rude bitch to me about wanting ONE additional packet and threatened to charge me for it, she had gone and given my friend 3 additional packets!!! The entire interaction with these women really ruined our experience. I hope these three girls get better training ASAP. Again, THE EMPANADAS ARE AWAYS DELICIOUS!!! The only piece of helpful advice the brain dead cashier shared with me is that they are found on UberEats. So please, don't hesitate to order food from Mama's just avoid the dodo birds that work at the one here on Jamaica Avenue.

Very good soup, we ask for a small as we had no idea what to expect. The bandeja tipica is $21. For the price you get rice and beans with avocado, a fried egg, longaniza, thinly pounded steak, a piece of sweet plantain and chicharron. We asked for some of the home made hot sauce and we got a some slightly picant vinaigrette that had cilantro and onions, very good bit no spice for my taste buds. However the meal is good enough to feed 2 hungry souls. My wife and i were very stuffed. We noticed they advertised mondongo soup but that is only on Sunday and Wednesday, so we will jave to come back and try it for sure. Our server Maria was very cordial, attentive and friendly. Definitely a new spot to enjoy Spanish food.
