There were a few snags during the process, but both Santiago and Fernando made them right! It was a lot of materials that were ordered so small hiccups like missing parts (very small ones) and damaged items (most likely in transit) are to be expected. They credited me for the damages and even gave me the missing pieces, without giving me any grief. One time to check on the inventory and the second time I came with a truck to haul the wood. All staff encountered were pleasant and pretty helpful. In addition, the price at TW perry was $11 less per sheet than a local competitor. It saved me $50 going here. The parking lot is small, but it's not needed to be any larger since the traffic was minimal both times I visited. It's nice that the entrance is off the main road and it's easier to exit, especially with large trucks that frequent there.

In summary - KBS is not too big nor too small, not too expensive but not cheap, so they were just right for us - average homeowners who seek the very best value. In this regard, KBS was just right. Some highlights........ 1) The crew is experienced and cohesive. They've been together for a good long time. They work well together and we never observed inefficiency. They just work hard all day long. 2) I never had to worry about workers in our home. Honest, polite, professional, kind, and responsive are words I'd use to describe them. 3) Communications were timely and valuable. My advice is to take notes of every communication for reference. In one case we forgot it was our responsibility to acquire an appliance. Uh oh, it was our fault and a written record would have been useful to refer to. Yikes! 4) The budget estimates were honored. there was no bait and switch. Prices were transparent to us. 5) We enjoyed reviewing recommended selections of cabinets, floor, hardware, appliances, sinks etc. Today, we feel somewhat knowledgeable with KBS as our tutors. 6) Cleanup and construction debris was timely. Thanks! 7) The crew was OK with our two dogs. I think our doggies missed them when the jobs were done. Final note: The sign of a great contractor is NOT that nothing goes wrong. Rather it is how the contractor responds when something does go wrong. In this regard, KBS took care of problems I was not even aware of, and when I was, they swarmed to make it right ASAP. For example, a quartz kitchen countertop cracked. Surprised. The piece was faulty. The crack was not due to poor installation. We only had to make one call to Dan who took care of it. Easy peasy. No hassles or haggles about responsibility or cost. Perfect. I've a few more impressive examples. So the more work we observed, the more confident we became in KBS. In my life "trust" is earned and hard to achieve in the contracting world. So, it is with pleasure to say KBS was trusted. We'd hire them again whenever we have a future need. Simply excellent!

This was a big project and from the moment we met with Dan, we knew we wanted to work with him. He helped us redesign our first floor (including kitchen and bathroom), meeting with us multiple times to come up with a design that worked for our needs. He helped us figure out what materials and design elements worked for our home, really going above and beyond to help us make a lot of decisions. His experience meant that he was able to take our vision of what we wanted our home to be and turn it into reality. The actual project itself could not have gone better. The crew was phenomenal. Their attention to detail and quality of work was exquisite. We did not run into a single issue for this entire project and the final result massively exceeded our expectations.
