The owner Mike Hamdorf told me my Homeowners would pay for sure, but they would pay nothing, and then Hamdorf billed me several thousand dollars. Smelt Like mildew until i called kings king's carpet. Now one year later they were sent to do my carpets and omg... my house flooded a little but was thankfully caught on time. Was not bad. There is at least one other review from another customer of his, as well, recounting a less than great job done and Eric being unwilling to make it right. Wish we would have believed it. We hired this company to clean three carpeted bedrooms before we moved into our home. Two were smaller rooms, and the third was the primary bedroom, where there was visible pet waste staining that we disclosed ahead of time. My husband and I were not home during the cleaning, but our housekeeper was there working at the same time. Based on our housekeeper's account and the timestamps from our text conversation with the Eric, all three rooms were completed in under an hour. At the time, we didn't question this because we are not carpet-cleaning professionals and assumed the job had been completed appropriately. We were also told that the carpets "weren't that bad." About three weeks later, however, we began noticing significant odors in two of the three rooms. We have taken several steps ourselves to try to identify and remediate the odors, and they have persisted. To be fair, we cannot say with certainty that the odors are coming from the carpet or that the original cleaning caused the problem. However, given the pre-existing pet staining and how quickly all three rooms were cleaned, we became concerned that the carpets may not have been treated thoroughly enough. We contacted the Eric directly, explained exactly what was happening, and asked whether he could return to re-clean the affected carpets and possibly use an enzyme treatment to help address any odor source that may remain. Instead of working with us to troubleshoot the issue, he called and told my husband that he would not return unless we paid an additional charge, stating that he cannot do "free jobs" for people and suggesting that customers could use complaints like this as a way to get free carpet cleaning. That response was particularly disappointing. We were not asking for additional rooms or trying to get unrelated work for free. We were contacting the person who had cleaned these exact carpets only a few weeks earlier because a problem had developed and we wanted to give him the opportunity to address it directly. We understand that a business cannot provide unlimited free services, and we would have been open to a professional conversation about what might be causing the odor and what could reasonably be done. What we did not appreciate was having our good faith concern treated as though we might simply be trying to get free work. Between the three-room job being completed in under an hour, the persistent odor developing shortly afterward, and the dismissive response when we asked for help, we unfortunately would not use this company again.
