Yes, the…read morewilderness of Hells Canyon and the river is stunning in its beauty, but this three-day trip was perfect in every way because of our top-notch tour guide, idahoafloat Dave (owner-operator) and his guides Austin and Sam are professional and knowledgeable - with safety, comfort, and enjoyment of their guests top priorities. The day before putting in, Dave stopped by the motel where we were staying to give us an orientation and give us waterproof bags to pack before morning. He showed up promptly the next day to take us to the dam to get started. Meanwhile, Kate back at the office was a key member of the team, reaching out to me to ensure my dietary restrictions were accommodated in the menus for the trip. Dave and his guides were on top of the river conditions, stopping to scout the more challenging rapids and smoothly navigating all of them. Coffee and breakfast was ready to go when we came out of our tents (and the coffee was better than I expected on a camping trip). Every meal was very good and balanced - Dave and team went out of their way to ensure our satisfaction. Near the end of our trip, a couple guests strayed away and the guides went on their way to make sure everything was ok. There were plenty of drinks for everyone. Captain Eric and Cassidy were great. They played music during the ride at our request and were very helpful getting in and out of the boat. Captain Eric had years of experience driving that boat so we felt very safe. We saw deer, big horn sheep, eagles and a sturgeon. They were able to squeeze us in last min for a half day white water rafting trip. Everyone who works there was super friendly and went out of their way to introduce themselves to us. After a short ride on the "cool bus" and and a little safety talk, we were on our way. Our guide Chris was super cool and knowledgeable about the area. In between rapids and one liner dad jokes he told us about the different cliffs and other stuff on the river. Overall it was an amazing day that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We've done two half-day trips with H2O over the past two summers -- the first in June of 2018 and…read morethe second just yesterday. Found the company through Groupon, and had a great time the first time so we came back with a group of five adults and five kids. Catfish was the guide both years for the "grown up's" raft, and Taylor was the guide for the kids. Our guides were great -- Catfish took us through the most exciting parts of the rapids, and was very knowledgeable about the river. Taylor was careful with the kids (didn't take them through the most hairy water) and was very nice, letting the kids take turns controlling the raft during calm spots. The water was a lot better in July than in June, and the half day trip took a little less than three hours. The rapids were fantastic -- some of the best we've encountered in Idaho. The guides had dry bags for our phones and keys, and coolers with drinks. We'll use H20 again and will try to book a whole-day trip next time. A great experience with great guides.

He was a walking encyclopedia and I am glad we booked with him. I recommend his rafting tours to any family wanting a break from reality and a fun and educational time on the lake.
