They were able to squeeze us in last min for a half day white water rafting trip. Everyone who works there was super friendly and went out of their way to introduce themselves to us. After a short ride on the "cool bus" and and a little safety talk, we were on our way. Our guide Chris was super cool and knowledgeable about the area. In between rapids and one liner dad jokes he told us about the different cliffs and other stuff on the river. Overall it was an amazing day that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Highly recommend this place for all your salmon river needs!!

Found the company through Groupon, and had a great time the first time so we came back with a group of five adults and five kids. Catfish was the guide both years for the "grown up's" raft, and Taylor was the guide for the kids. Our guides were great -- Catfish took us through the most exciting parts of the rapids, and was very knowledgeable about the river. Taylor was careful with the kids (didn't take them through the most hairy water) and was very nice, letting the kids take turns controlling the raft during calm spots. The water was a lot better in July than in June, and the half day trip took a little less than three hours. The rapids were fantastic -- some of the best we've encountered in Idaho. The guides had dry bags for our phones and keys, and coolers with drinks. We'll use H20 again and will try to book a whole-day trip next time. A great experience with great guides.

The personal equipment, as well as the equipment supporting the entire tour, was of exceptional design, quality and maintenance. Meals cooked by the guides were creative, nutritious, and plentiful for hungry paddlers. The guides were extremely knowledgeable about the entire length of the river, which was greater than 100 miles. They know how to attack each obstacle to provide a high level of adventure while doing it safely. All of the staff were well educated and friendly. They all had an amazing general knowledge of botany, zoology, geography, and natural history. If an individual guide could not answer your question, they were quick to research it in their extensive library or consult other guides. This trip was a reunion for me in 17 of my West Point classmates. The guides did an amazing job of making it entertaining, enjoyable and memorable.

The food was great, the views amazing, the cellphone-free environment much appreciated. The best part? The company. The oars staff were friendly, highly-capable, and were the most entertaining part of the trip. I've never talked so much my whole life, but these guys were a hoot. We saw a few people get drunk, beligerant, and not wearing PFDs across the river one day. Some of the other river guide companies do not operate a tight ship. I'm so glad we went with OARS because my stress level was zero other than the rapids. The 5-day down the Snake River was perfect as you really get into the groove of rafting that 3rd day. I just wish I could have stayed on the river longer!

A friend and I went by van ride up to the launch in Wallowa and went forward into the wilderness of the Blue mountains. This is geologically beautiful country with magical rock formations thronged by big horn sheep - we saw a group of 20 that entertained us across the river at camp. The fishing was fantastic. Half of the fish were around 14 inches up to right around 20 inches. These are highly capable broad-shouldered fish. Captain Grant, Captain Bobby, and First Mate Callen capably led our expedition. The well-trained and yet affectionate dogs put a cherry on top. Highly recommended. I effing love Oregon. They have a rail ride too.

Jerry and Madeline worked so hard to make sure all of the guests on the trip were well taken care of. This was a 3 day two night food and wine trip and Chad from Dusted Valley Winery made sure to keep our cups full and was very informative about his winery. I felt so relaxed and pampered and it was just what I was looking for. As for the food, it was fantastic! From scratch made s'mores and hors d'oeuvres to black cod and steak it was so delicious! Thanks again for such a great time. I am looking forward to a trip next year to the Hell's Canyon and hopefully with this same crew.

The first thing you should think about when planning such a trip is the skill and reputation of the guiding service. ROW totally rocks! Everything is considered and planned for and if surprises come up (which they always do) ROW gets top marks for handling everything in a professional and incredibly fun manner. The guides were mega-stars; the food and drinks were superlative at every meal, and the equipment was first class. As importantly, it was a great learning experience that ranged from rafting and kayaking technique to Native American history and riverine ecology as well as environmental education about the plant and animal life. Bottom line is that I can't remember a better time on any river anywhere. They made such an impression on all of us that we've already started planning for next year's trip and we can't wait to see them all again. Below is a picture at our first night's wondrous camp showing my athletic honey (who begged them to let her carry her own equipment to our luxury campsite so she could get more exercise). We'll definitely be booking with ROW again and 100% recommend the company and our guides!
