I was visitind Natchez Mississippi with a friend who has been here all her life and wanted to return for a short two day trip. We passed this place which she said she's never been to we gotta go there so unique so the next day we turned around and went and inside and it was amazing as amazing as the outside that this place existed for so long and so unique I checked it out on yelp I must say the only thing I had was a piece of cake and it was delicious if I ever came back this way again I would definitely want to try their lunch. The people were so friendly when you walked inside so if you're passing by stop by, they only have lunch from 11 to 2 every day

    Historical landmark.

Home cooked food made with love and fresh ingredients. Mile high meringue pies, ice box pies, and house baked cakes that tower forever made in-house by Tori. The meals come with a hearty beef vegetable soup. I had the Sesame chicken salad and 1/2 a Ruben. Very flavorful and filling. Warm friendly service accommodates special requests, mix and match sandwiches, or 1/2 orders of their amazing deserts. A lot of daily regulars enjoying their lunch with the staff knowing their customers names and orders. Very comfortable shabby chic farm house dining like you're eating in your Maw Maws kitchen. A must try house-made blueberry lemonade.

Mammy's is a very unique establishment given that you are dining in the dress of a very large woman. The skin color of the lady has been lightened which appears to be an attempt to be less offensive so I guess they're trying right? Putting that aside, it is a unique atmosphere in which to dine. That being said, the inside of the restaurant feels like you're at your grandma's kitchen table. Very quaint and no frills. The restaurant is open for lunch only so get in early so they don't run out of specials as it's a small restaurant and popular with locals. The food is southern country home cooking which is certainly not fine dining but has its merits. The Reuben is VERY good and when you order they allow you to do half portions so you can try multiple options which I love. The desserts are where mammy consistently shines.. All the pies are amazing. Also, our server was lovely and accommodating to any and all requests which she told us from the beginning. We loved the service and tipped above 20% bc it made our lunch so great. I would definitely stop at Mammy's if you're passing through Natchez at least to say that you did!

Excellent stop before starting the Natchez Trace drive. They're only open till two so plan for lunch. Our server, Lewis, I think, was full of information about the restaurant, the area, and local history. His daughter is also a server, and his wife cooks. We had a sesame chicken salad sandwich and half a PBJ/ half a grilled cheese. All were served on thick sliced, fresh baked sourdough. All were delicious! Each plate came with homemade vegetable soup and either potato salad or house salad with homemade dressing. Again- delicious. We shared a dessert, scrumptious banana caramel pie and had blueberry lemonade which was very refreshing. Not only was lunch tasted and quickly made but the stories and structure were epic! Do yourself a favor and make this your number one lunch stop when visiting Natchez!

A sliver of coconut meringue and chocolate meringue pie. Excellent.

Had the Wednesday special which was roasted rosemary chicken with a brown sauce, rice, a small side salad, and broccoli cornbread. Everything tasted very well really thought this was a true southern experience. The broccoli cornbread threw me until I tasted it, since I like broccoli, I thought it was very good. The chicken was tender the gravy was perfect so all in all the main meal was very good. We also sample two slices of pie a coconut meringue and chocolate meringue and was given a small slice of lemon meringue to even things up. All three were excellent, but my favorite turned out to be the lemon meringue.

Homestyle cooking, taste was good! Liked the Turkey sandwich! Cool building. Located just outside of town

Roast turkey and chicken salad sandwiches with all the fixings. Peanut butter and banana Carmel pie slices

Outstanding and off the beaten path this place is a must stop for tourists and locals. Food is delicious but it is only open for three hours and there is a great deal of takeout orders from the across the bridge crowd. Come hungry and you won't be disappointed

Food and service was excellent! My rueben was SO tasty- meat tender and cheese and sauce really good. Side salad had homemade dressing and it also came with soup! GET's Special of the Day Pork loin was really good. He loved the rice dressing and Southern style green beans. We took a piece of Hummingbird cake to-go (had never tasted Hummingbird cake!) for later and loved it! AND, of course the homey atmosphere of this unusual historic building was delightful!

Wonderful staff, excellent food, fun little off the beaten path hole in the wall so to speak. The chicken salad sandwich and vegetables soup were perfect! The even give you a half slice of pie!

Founded in 1940, this restaurant is in the shape of a 28-foot-tall woman of color with a hoop skirt that houses the gift shop and dining room. It is so named because of the woman of color character in the move "Gone With The Wind". It has been remodeled and renovated several times and gone through many changes. It currently only serves lunch and desserts. The employees are quite friendly, the Reuben sandwich was good, as was the soup. The hummingbird cake (white cake with pineapples, bananas and nuts mixed in, cream cheese frosting, nut toppings) was fabulous. There is a surcharge on using a credit card to pay, though they do accept cash and checks. Inside was decorated for Halloween, and they had several gnomes. I am not sure I will be back. I had passed by in the past and not gone in. I don't even know what to really think.

Taking a lunch break from a conference, I found this on Yelp and we decided to try the place out. Ambiance - 3.5 Stars The old home which was converted into the sandwhich shop has very limited seating; only bar stools and can be elbow to elbow on space. There maybe about 12 bar stools so it might be best to call in or order at the counter as take out. Service - 4 Stars The staff were friendly and pleasant. The main cook checked on us regularly after we made a "New Orleans connection". Food: 3.5 - 3.75 Stars If you are getting a PoBoy meal it comes with a 6" or 10" sandwich and a bag of chips. Drinks and other items or extra. We ordered the following: The Junkin: a traditional Debris slow cooked roast. 3.5 4 stars The PoBoy had the usual condiments of lettuce, tomato and pickles w a light spread of mayo. The buttered bread was light and outside layered were crunchy. Just as it should be. The rendered pot roasted was flavorful and slightly juicy. I prefer my Debris to be more wet. 2. Large Cup of Red Beans and Rice - 3.5 Stars The beans were tendered but prefer to have the beans whole I stead of purée. The sausage and beef were good and the seasoning was good. Prefer it to be a bit more spicer. We recommend the place if you need a quick meal in Natchez near the waterfront.

That was fine as we were tired from driving. However, when we showed up to pick up our order, they were actually open for dine in. The girl who brought out our order was so kind to provide everything we needed to eat back at our hotel-plenty of napkins, utensils and condiments. She knew we were traveling and asked about our travels and was very friendly and kind. Our pizza was delicious-a small pepperoni, green olive and onion. We each ordered a Caesar salad, not knowing how big they were. One salad could definitely feed 2 people. The salads were so fresh, with plenty of beautiful grated Parmesan cheese and croutons. I wish we had a Country Pie Pizza Company near our home. Oh well. Try it, you'll like it!
