Her bedside manner and patience in answering questions prior to the procedure was top notch.

I've been going to this Dr. for a very long time. Never had a problem, well that changed after my…read morehusband needed an endoscopy and they found a tumor in his throat. Dr went over by my husband's bed in recovery and the Dr. said he did biopsies and then proceeds to loudly proclaim he thought he has cancer....Wow people turned around and looked in our direction. He needed a follow-up endoscopy after chemo treatment to check on some dysplasia and swallowing issues. ( had a C.T. scan a week or so prior, and findings were the tumor was gone) While I was sitting in the waiting room I spotted the Dr. in the receptionist area, and I asked him how it went and he said he took biopsies and I just mentioned about the scan results and he coldly told me " well the cancer is back " with a little smirk of a smile on his face. What a " CLOD", this guy has become. He didn't even bother to go see my husband in recovery. We are talking about peoples lives here not going over a grocery list. This guy needs to hang up his" shingle "if that is how he treats patients , not to mention him shouting possible findings across the recovery room. I can't emphasize how much this upsets me to have such a callus response to a person's medical issues. Never Again, that's for sure. The nurses at El Mirador are outstanding and have such praise for them. This in no way reflects how they do their job, which is wonderfully. The Dr. ....Not-So-Much.

The nurses at the El Mirador Surgery Center are the only reasons I gave this place a two star…read morerating and not a one star. I did everything they asked me to. I was having a totla anxiety attack and I asked if they could give me a Xanax or Valium or something and they said no, we don't do that here. You'll just have to "deal with it". So I waited for an hour because they took my phone and personal belongings away and all I could do was look around at all the other "cattle" in our respective pens. Meanwhile, I saw another patient across from me during prep meet her anesthesiologist and have a 5 minute chat where he answered all her question and review her chart. Then they wheeled her away. When it was my turn, they was no chat, just wheeled into an exam room, two older guys and a nurse. No one introduced themselves or said hi so I felt like pig about to be butchered. They asked me my name and date of birth and why I was there. Instead of saying Colonoscopy, I said, "To get a camera shoved up my ass." No one even laughed as I was trying to keep the mood light. They gave me some versed and something else presumably to knock me out, and the ONLY thing I asked was that I didn't want to rem, ember anything that happened during the procedure and they assured me I wouldn't. Well, guess what. I woke up in the middle and felt the worst craps ever while they were maneuvering something around and I groaned, "Owww! That hurts! Please stop!:" They must have eventually given me more drugs because I woke up and my husband was there, but what a horrible ordeal. The pain was awful. Like the worst gas cramps you've ever felt. And I didn't get THE ONE THING i asked for -- not to remember anything during the procedure. Between the impersonal treatment telling me to "just deal with it", waiting almost an hour in a bed while everyone else went ahead of me when I told them how anxious I was, and the incompetent ability to keep me sedated during my procedure (20 minutes long, I might add), this was the suckiest thing ever, and I suggest you interview your doctor before you let just anyone shove a camera up YOUR ass if you have to have this hellish procedure done to you after you turn 50. And find a place that gives you a Valium first. That seems at least a little humane.
