It is going to be difficult to put into words how grateful I am to have met Kathy and Mike a few…read moreweeks ago while I was in Arizona. Just a quick background, I own and operate a holistic, recovery and development focused, CrossFit gym in Southern California. I work with clients every day who are in pain, rehabilitating injuries, looking for answers to becoming healthier and more integrated and balanced in mind, body, and spirit. I was out there for Level 2 Certification in Fascial Stretch Therapy training and had the honor of meeting these two amazing individuals. The workshop is 90% hands-on, so naturally, practitioners will not only work on stretching, but also get stretched, the other half of the time. For those who are not familiar with the fascial/connective tissue system in our bodies, they can store all kinds of information from the past. Repressed emotions and traumas also live in the fascia. During the second day, I started to have overwhelming flashbacks and emotions come to surface. And that evening, I had a terrifying nightmare, and woke up to the sound of my own screams and sobbing. Dreams are the realm of the subconscious, and through the release, I was able to integrate a deeply compartmentalized and unconscious fear I had. I was sharing my experience with Kathy the next day, and started to feel overwhelmed with painful emotions again and without skipping a beat, she embraced me into a safe, and unconditionally loving hug, I don't know how much time had passed, but I felt my pain turn into peace and calm. I've been on an active journey to heal not only emotional traumas, but serious physical injuries from extreme sports that left me crippled for years. I have worked with so many professionals from all across the spectrum, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, the whole gamut. Kathy spoke from a place of understanding and compassion and was able to create a safe space for me to allow myself to be okay with what was coming up. Shortly after, her partner Mike, came over to me and offered to help me ground my experience. Normally, I would decline, I have a hard time accepting help, but something in my gut told me to surrender to the moment. Mike took me aside and without many words spoken started working on me. It was a combination of Reiki, CranioSacral Therapy, and probably many other modalities he was drawing from. The experience was transformative. I felt connected in a way that resembled a spiritual awakening of sorts. All of my senses were flooded with information and I could feel my consciousness processing everything and transmuting it into space. Mike showed great patience and care and helped me find the courage to let go and allow myself to surrender to the experience. It was liberating. I decided I had to schedule a session with Mike before I left back for California and so we had a session a couple days later. Mike was super attentive and listened as I brought him up to speed on my history of traumas and progress I've made. I felt comfortable and motivated to share all the details, because I could sense his genuine interest in my well-being. He was even kind enough to customize our session to maximize our time together since I could only see him while I was in Arizona. Instead of doing a regular session, we sat down and came up with a game plan, and tools that I could use in my every-day to help me function when my PTSD gets triggered. The session was thoughtful and exactly what I needed. That evening, I had so much clarity, after letting go of so much energetic dead-weight and heavy emotions, it was the spark that helped me figure out my next step in my career. I'm back in California, and have been on fire, elevated in all areas of my life, professional, personal, family, relationships, and creativity. I am excited to continue my journey and feel refueled and motivated to give my very best effort. If I lived in the area, I would be seeing Kathy and Mike as a regular client.
