I stumbled upon this place today while walking around my neighbourhood. I love Indian food so, of…read morecourse, I had to investigate. Apparently, they've only been open a couple of weeks. Walking in, the space is mostly kitchen, with no seating (under COVID conditions). The previous (burger) restaurant that occupied this space before had only two tables of two and a counter in the window. There are currently two tables of four set up under a tent in the parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. These tables could have been cleaner. In addition to TV screens hanging from the ceiling, there is a large menu on the wall with (I'm guessing) their six most popular items. I ordered the Tandoori(?) chicken from this menu. It included two leg quarters, salad, rice, naan, and a drink for only $9.99. Not a bad deal. It took about fifteen minutes for my order to be completed. A few other customers were ahead of me, also waiting, some impatiently. Once ready, I sat at one of the tables out front. Hmmm, no napkins? Only a spoon to eat with? Where's my drink? Once I got that sorted, it was time to eat. The chicken was a tad on the dry side and the flavours a bit understated. The salad consisted of lettuce, cucumbers, and red onions. The naan was large and fresh. The rice was plentiful, nice and fluffy. I'm used to bolder flavours in Indian cuisine. Overall, it was just okay. I'm used to bold flavours but I found the chicken a bit underseasoned. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't as good as I was anticipating. Hopefully, these issues will be sorted out in time. PS - The fly strips hanging in the restaurant were a bit of a turn off.

I haven't had a chance to get to Zeera during the pandemic and I have missed it terribly so tonight I hopped onto Uber Eats and placed an order! I opted for some oldies but goodies and a couple of dishes I hadn't tried before. The bread basket is definitely a must have. All of their naan is delicious and I can never choose just one kind. Why not get an assortment? The other staple I ordered was Aloo Gobi. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, as always. The dishes I hadn't tried before at Zeera were their chicken biryani and paneer korma. Both dishes were incredible and I will definitely order them again. I've had saag paneer countless times but I've never heard of paneer korma. I love korma so how could I go wrong? A definite winner! (I made my own Raita though.) When you compare price to serving sizes, it's one of the more expensive restaurants I go to but when I'm in the mood for Indian cuisine, Zeera is my go-to!

We tried the Amritsari paneer tikka - it's to die for! I really loved the marination on it wanted the flavour ( one of the best I have had in Canada). The staff is really nice, loved the quick service. The place is little on the pricier side but great for special occasions!

I'm not sure how long they've been there or why I hadn't noticed them before but I'm always up for a good curry so we popped in for dinner. The menu is quite extensive and it took us a while to look over everything. Since this was our first time here, we opted for dishes we were familiar with so we could benchmark them against our favourite Indian restaurant. Our selection consisted of Aloo Gobi Masala, Tandoori Butter Chicken, Malai Lamb Curry, Super Naan, Masala Raita and Basmati Rice. Everything looked and smelled amazing so we were excited to tuck in. First, I have to say, this Aloo Gobi has set the bar higher and is now the benchmark by which all future Aloo Gobi dishes will be compared against. The curry dishes were also amazing. In fairness, ordering butter chicken was safe, but we also wanted to have something we hadn't tried before. You can never go wrong with lamb and the description of the Malai Lamb Curry sounded irresistible... it left me gobsmacked. Are you kidding me? This dish is packed with flavour and the lamb was cooked to perfection. We actually considered packing up the rest of the sauce to bring home. Honestly, it's that good. Definitely a MUST! Absolutely everything from start to finish was delicious. The owner/chef (?) came out for a chat and to regale us with descriptions of other dishes to try next time... and believe me, there will definitely be a next time! Have I just found my new favourite Indian restaurant? I think I might have.

Restaurant Review…read more When we first entered the restaurant, it was beautifully decorated for Raksha Bandhan, and the festive atmosphere immediately set our expectations high. We were visiting from New York and were looking forward to a memorable meal and a great experience. Unfortunately, what followed was extremely disappointing and ended up affecting the rest of our trip. The bhatura was cold and chewy. When we brought this to the server's attention, the server did replace it, which we appreciated. However, the naan was also served cold. When we asked if it could be replaced, we were asked whether it would be okay to simply warm it up in the microwave. For a restaurant serving Indian food, this was incredibly disappointing and not the level of food quality or service we expected. I understand that the server appeared to be a student and may not have known how to appropriately handle the situation. To the restaurant's credit, the manager eventually came over to remedy the situation and asked whether there was anything missing from our order. However, by that point, the experience had already left a very poor impression. Unfortunately, the biggest concern was what happened afterward. I became very sick to my stomach and felt like I was going to throw up. I had difficulty sleeping that night, and the following day was a travel day for us. Being sick and exhausted significantly affected our plans and unfortunately messed up the remainder of our trip. The one star is only because the review system does not allow me to give zero stars. Between the cold and poorly prepared food, the inadequate initial response from the service staff, and becoming physically ill afterward, this was an extremely unpleasant experience. We were visiting from New York and had high hopes when we walked in, especially after seeing the beautiful Raksha Bandhan decorations. Sadly, the experience did not come close to matching that first impression. Please think twice before visiting this place. The service was not at all good, and our overall experience was far below what we expected. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both the food quality and staff training so that other customers do not have a similar experience.

It's savoury, very flavourful, well prepared, and nicely presented. On this visit, our group sat on their spacious patio, recently opened for the season. Our evening started with cocktails and live entertainment. Refreshing. Great start! That was followed by their delicious appetizers and mains, all beautifully presented. * Pani Puri * Vegetable Tandoori Momo * Vegetable Steamed Momo * Chilli Chicken Momo * Wai Wai Sadeko * Dragon Chicken * Chilli Paneer * Chilli Chicken * Sekuwa Chicken * Vegetable Chow Mein * Vegetable Thakali Thali * Mutton Thakali Thali Our choices included veg and non-veg selections and we enjoyed every bite. Everything was flavourful and more than satisfying. Delicious! For special events, they have private banquet facilities on the lower level that can accommodate up to 150ppl. The servers are wearing traditional garments and there is beautiful artwork on the walls . Friday - Sunday they even have live music. They have a large space in the restaurant for parties and events. After speaking with the owner, I found the upstairs event space can accommodate 50 patrons and the downstairs hall can host 200! Wow. Now onto the exciting part; The food. We ordered a couple different dishes and shared Dahi Puri Chicken Choyela Chicken Steam Momo's Chicken Chow Mein Thakali Set - Mutton Paratha I'm a huge Dahi Puri lover. This version blew me away... The flavor profile was perfection. ( My friend LOVED this dish as well. ) Next up were the Momo's. They're known for their Momo's. I do prefer a steamed Momo, so we went with steamed chicken. The portion size was quite large and the dipping sauce paired well; they had so much flavor. The next appetizer dish was one I have never had before; Chicken Choyela. I generally don't enjoy crunchy / textured foods but my friend quite enjoyed the puffed rice addition of this dish. The chicken had a unique flavor, unlike anything I've had before. It was solid. Their Chow Mein is another dish that they're known for. I seem to prefer noodles over rice these days. (But, I'm generally disappointed with most places noodles.) These were SUPERB! They had a smoky flavor to them and were a 10/10. I've had Thali but never a Thakali. While similar, they are different; We chose the mutton option. This dish was incredibly tender and bursting with flavors. Dish after dish impressed us. This spot hits all the right notes and is a definite must visit if you're in the area. My friend was so impressed, he's already planning his next visit!

Although Daal Roti has been open for four years now, and is very close to home, this was my first time dining here. The food was decent but it wasn't very warm, and appeared a bit sparse. I had scrolled through their Instagram and really loved the fact that I could get Thali here! It takes me back to when I would got for a curry in England. There's just something about all the little dishes with flavourful treats that just makes me happy. We arrived shortly after 1pm on a Friday and there was just one other couple in the restaurant. There's not a lot of seating so I would imagine this place is bustling on the weekends with their buffet. The restaurant is tidy and the gentleman who served us was really nice and very helpful. After looking at the menu and having a chat with the waiter, I opted for the non-veg Thali. Apparently, it's normally a takeaway dish but for an additional $2, you can have it in the restaurant. So, we had assumed the reason for the extra couple of quid was because they would be using proper dishes and the extra labour for cleaning that, etc. etc.. Apparently not. We were both taken aback when our lunch was served to us in a plastic takeaway container. I'm not going to lie, it was a little disappointing. Part of dining out at a restaurant is the experience and plastic just doesn't cut it. The food was really good and there certainly was plenty of it. We were both satisfied with our lunch and I would definitely come back again to try other dishes. I'm not sure I would order this dish again though, given the presentation. Because of that, I can only give this restaurant a 3-star at this time.
