Everything was so good I barely took photos of the food but definitely eat here if you're ever randomly in Pickering

We somewhat last minute made a reso (a couple hours prior for 15 people) and were received with a very warm welcome. I'm from BC travelling with a group, selected here purely off of reviews. Do not miss here! Every dish was absolutely amazing, we had several people new to Indian cuisine who loved everything they tried. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and it was all amazing. I can't recommend this place enough!

16.99 for butter chicken. It was tasty but not a lot of pieces of chicken in it. A little overpriced given that there are a lot of competitors in the area. Punjabi restaurant but they say all the meat is halal from Amir n Sargeant Farms. We had the fish curry, chicken tikka biryani, malai curry, masala fries, garlic naan and butter chicken. They were all good but not very spicy. Very mild.

I recently discovered this new restaurant while driving by and I just had to check it out. I love Indian food! It's a tiny little spot, with seating for only 10 diners at 3 tables. Most of their business is takeout. I chose to dine in for a late lunch and all of their customers during that time were takeout. With several yummy choices, I settled on the Tandoori Butter Chicken with rice and a samosa. A drink was included. The meal, served in a round plastic takeout container, minus the lid, had rice completely smothered in a delicious butter chicken sauce but only a few pieces of boneless chicken. Although I would have preferred more meat, It was rich in flavour and tasted really good! The samosa was also very good. I'll have to come back to try more of heir offerings.

A great spot for Indian food in Pickering! I believe it's a relatively new addition to the Whites Road Shopping Centre. You're able to order online through their own website which is a great alternative to going through an app. They specialize in tandoori dishes which are grilled items in a clay oven. They have a lot of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for each area of their menu from wraps, BBQ, and curry dishes. There's a lot of delicious sounding side dishes from butter paneer poutine to chicken 65. We were happy enough to find out that they actually do everything really well! The butter chicken was so creamy and flavourful. The sauce was soaked up with their huge, fluffy, and tasty garlic naan. The chunks of chicken were incredibly tender as well. We also had two dishes from the grill - the tandoori chicken tikka and the malai chicken tikka. Both came with a green sauce that seemed like it had a hint of mint and soothed a bit after the spice. The former was only mildly spicy but still left a bit of a kick on the tongue. They were also accompanied by green salads with hidden cucumbers underneath them that helped with any spiciness. This chicken was also amazingly moist and flavourful even without the sauce. The meal here was really a hit and we were all stuffed after a dish per person order. Will be back for sure!

We ordered the tandoori chicken tikka for $11.49 and the butter chicken for $16 for 2 people. The tandoori chicken tikka was 5 pieces. The butter chicken was 6 pieces. You can see in the photo the portions of meat are disappointing. I would rank flavour 5/5 value 3/5. I felt it was pricey for what you got. I won't likely order again ala carte menu. However their lunch specials are tasty and good value.

A bit disappointed actually. The samosas were pretty burnt! Mistakes do happen sometimes - the oil may have been too hot- but what was more disappointing is that the samosas passed inspection and got packaged and given to me. Or worse, they were not inspected before they left the kitchen. Now this was a really cheap dish (less than $10 for 6 samosas), but disappointing nevertheless. Hopefully this is not happening with other dishes. I am still tempted to try out other dishes, but the temptation has weakened considerably. I try out and review eateries pretty frequently on Yelp but not too often on Google. Taste-wise, the outer crust tasted burnt, and the filing was not as hot as I would have expected. It seemed to me like it was taken out frozen or from the fridge and put into oil that was too hot - the outside got burnt and the inside did not warm up. The filling tasted ok, traditional North Indian samosa taste. If you're thinking of trying out this place I would advise a bit of caution. I would definitely not expect this as a first time customer...

Folks, I highly recommend this place for people who want to get a taste of real Indian Delhi style food in GTA. The food is so tasty with the right amount of spices and heat. I am writing this review after trying out Take-Out twice and Patio Dine-In once and can vouch that food has been consistently excellent. I have tried their Chola Kabab, Fish Tikka, Keema Naan, Aloo Kulcha, Chole Bhature, Tandoori Chicken & Baigan Bhartha and each and every of these dishes has been one of the best or even the best I have had so far. The owner of this place is a foodie and understands what customers want a very nice person to talk. I wish he gets to convert it into a proper dine in place as well.

Food is generally good. This time the tandoori was way too burnt. Must have been an off day. The green chicken is a must try

Milanus is the best Indian in Durham region by far. It's right at Highway 2 & Whites Road just off the highway in Pickering. The owner is super knowledgeable and has clear passion about his craft. The food is delicious, fairly priced and very consistent. My girlfriend & I go there regularly and they have been so good and so nice to us when we come. Great customer service and great overall experiences. Thank you!!! Will def be back.

I haven't had a chance to get to Zeera during the pandemic and I have missed it terribly so tonight I hopped onto Uber Eats and placed an order! I opted for some oldies but goodies and a couple of dishes I hadn't tried before. The bread basket is definitely a must have. All of their naan is delicious and I can never choose just one kind. Why not get an assortment? The other staple I ordered was Aloo Gobi. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, as always. The dishes I hadn't tried before at Zeera were their chicken biryani and paneer korma. Both dishes were incredible and I will definitely order them again. I've had saag paneer countless times but I've never heard of paneer korma. I love korma so how could I go wrong? A definite winner! (I made my own Raita though.) When you compare price to serving sizes, it's one of the more expensive restaurants I go to but when I'm in the mood for Indian cuisine, Zeera is my go-to!

I stumbled upon this place today while walking around my neighbourhood. I love Indian food so, of…read morecourse, I had to investigate. Apparently, they've only been open a couple of weeks. Walking in, the space is mostly kitchen, with no seating (under COVID conditions). The previous (burger) restaurant that occupied this space before had only two tables of two and a counter in the window. There are currently two tables of four set up under a tent in the parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. These tables could have been cleaner. In addition to TV screens hanging from the ceiling, there is a large menu on the wall with (I'm guessing) their six most popular items. I ordered the Tandoori(?) chicken from this menu. It included two leg quarters, salad, rice, naan, and a drink for only $9.99. Not a bad deal. It took about fifteen minutes for my order to be completed. A few other customers were ahead of me, also waiting, some impatiently. Once ready, I sat at one of the tables out front. Hmmm, no napkins? Only a spoon to eat with? Where's my drink? Once I got that sorted, it was time to eat. The chicken was a tad on the dry side and the flavours a bit understated. The salad consisted of lettuce, cucumbers, and red onions. The naan was large and fresh. The rice was plentiful, nice and fluffy. I'm used to bolder flavours in Indian cuisine. Overall, it was just okay. I'm used to bold flavours but I found the chicken a bit underseasoned. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't as good as I was anticipating. Hopefully, these issues will be sorted out in time. PS - The fly strips hanging in the restaurant were a bit of a turn off.

This establishment is much closer to me, so I was hoping to LOVE it. I came for lunch to celebrate my father's birthday. Not sure if dinner is better but lunch didn't have very many options. I'm quite familiar with Indian food and I'm not a picky eater. I personally found there weren't many curries to choose from. The kofta being the worst. The chaat bar was ok, but not having green chutney was a little disappointing. The little samosas were cute, but found them pretty dry and not overly flavorful. The daal, Aloo curry and paneer curry were all just ok. The server was friendly enough and told us breads would be delivered to our table. I waited for her to come back so we could order some breads...she didn't. I eventually got up and asked for some Roti; which were fresh but dry. My dad loves Indian food and eats at his local restaurant every week with his sister. He was very disappointed in his meal and said if he was new to the cuisine, this visit would have turned him off Indian food completely. As a foodie I know places can have good and bad days. I'm sad that this wasn't a great experience, since I wanted it to be. I feel bad wasting food and I managed to finish what I liked but my dad left the majority of his Thali. He did eat some chaat and Gulab but the overall experience wasn't what we were hoping for. As a side note: I know my dishes and I'm able to tell what is what but I would think for those coming in who are new to the cuisine or unfamiliar with Indian dishes maybe little signs with names might be helpful

Horn Dawgs does a brisk take out business, and I can understand why…read more We ordered the Puppy Dawg Meal and got an amazing quantity of food. Jenna, who took my order, was friendly and professional, efficient, but willing to give her time and opinion to help me decide on the order. Now that's good service. This was my first time here, and it is great to have some quality BBQ so close by in Pickering. Main event: The Ribs. These ribs are amazing. I had them sauced with the terrific house sauce (sauce so good that I bought a jarful - Jenna told me that they just made it this morning!). The ribs are tender, but have a nice tug and chew so that you know it's meat (as opposed to the fall-off-the-bone, melt in your mouth kind that make you feel like you are eating stewed meat - kind of like what happens when I make ribs for my family). The sauce complimented the meat well, enhancing the flavour while allowing the porky rib quality to shine through. I can't say enough about them. The chicken was as close to perfect as I have had. On its own, some might call it under spiced, but you can add that yourself. Personally, I like it just as Horn Dawgs makes it: a simple, very crispy, savoury coating with moist chicken inside. The white meat was really juicy and tasty! Pulled pork was great. Some nice, crispy, lightly charred bits to give some contrast to the moist pork meat. We have quite a bit left over, because everyone was all over the ribs and the chicken. My advice about the pork: ask for your sauces (of course I recommend the house sauce) on the side, so that, if you have left-overs, the sauce doesn't make them soggy. Just sauce each portion to your preference, just after preparing the portion. Our sides also lived up to the expectations set by the mains; smooth, creamy mashed potato, sweet and savoury cornbread; really stand-out baked beans, with a sweet but smoky flavour; fries that actually tasted like potatoes! To top it off, excellent service, easy parking and (for me) a convenient location. It is somewhat hidden behind a Thai food restaurant. It is just east of the Pickering Go station. Great Service and great food! If you are in the Pickering area and craving some BBQ, skip the big chain restaurants (abundant in Pickering) and head on over to Horn Dawgs! Support a local business and have some top notch food all at the same time! Righteous, and tasty! All they need to do is adopt a pup, feature his story, and then, Romeo, I will be your Juliet! P.S. A week or two later, I made some ribs myself and sauced them with the jar of sauce that i bought at Horn Dawgs. Perfect! I can see why this sauce has won awards.

(Take out) Impressions: all the positive reviews may be about the volume and price than delicacy. We ordered: # Crispy buffalo chicken sandwich (side: onion rings) $13: The chicken was supposed to be crispy, but it was not. Yes, it was take-out so that may be the factor. However, the chicken was drenched with sauce... the focus was volume (with onion rings) and sauce, rather than the texture. # Single dawg (Side: beans) $26.50: Came with 1/4 pound Beef Brisket and 1/4 pound pulled pork, drizzled with HD bbq sauce. And 3 bone St. Louis Ribs. Again, huge volume for the price. Abundant French fries. But the brisket texture was mediocre. Pulled pork was tender, but beef brisket and ribs were crunchy at the edges and inside was a bit dry. It came with 2 slider buns, regular small buns which were grocery store level. # Poutine (large, $9): Huge, but nothing special otherwise. The gravy did not taste natural, but good enough. As good as fast food chain. The fries are homestyle. I did not try their wings which are their most popular items with variety of flavors. May be I want to try them. Who does not like wing deals on a lazy relaxing Friday night!?
