The women's group at my church was hosting a tea party, and while I wanted to make sure we had enough tea cups for anyone who forgot theirs I also was on a very tight budget. Wear a mask!!! The cashier, younger woman without a mask, seemed to be a bit offended when I asked her to use sanitizer after coughing, and before she rang up my items. She got into a discussion about how she is already had covid and she's not vaccinated but won't wear a mask while working/volunteering because it's "hard to breathe." Other than the mask and coughing issue, prices are good and selection is varied. Nice staff. read more

I found myself needing some dressier clothes on short notice two weeks before Christmas. The thought of shopping at a typical department store during the holiday rush filled me with dread. Well, why not try some thrift stores instead? I made the rounds of a few places and this one by far was the best. The prices were extremely reasonable, with most clothes being around $3, even less if it happened to be the featured tag color that would be half off. This place understands what a thrift store is- to move merchandise as fast as possible at a price point people who shop at thrift stores can afford. I have to say I tried the Goodwills and they are ridiculously priced, why would you pay as much or more for a tank top used at Goodwill as what you can buy it for new at a place like Target? Goodwill has lost touch with its audience. Another good place besides MM Thift is the St. Vincent de Paul at 1111 8th Ave W, Bradenton FL - they close early, I think 3:00 p.m. but they are pricing their items reasonably also. I really like the thrift shops that price merchandise to move quickly so every time you shop there it is a different adventure. read more

Last week dropped off 10 huge garbage bags of clothes for all seasons. I chose this shop because they make incredible donations to local nonprofits yet keep prices lower than Goodwill in my opinion. Very nice helper at the back door and we unloaded it quickly. I shopped and my passion is books. Huge revamp of this section with great labeling and organization. They even have sheet music for sale! Very organized in there, not smelly, and workers are helpful and thoughtful, wearing masks and being gentle with some folks who were lonely and drop in for human warmth. Best prices in town for a repurposed store. The end of the month sales are awesome. The volunteers are so friendly and the store is very clean. I especially appreciate that it is a non profit, not like other thrift shops. I only donate my stuff here. I get most of my sewing needs there, buttons, zippers, thread... It is definitely worth the stop. read more

This is such a great thrift store! Well priced, clean and well organized. The staff was super helpful and nice. I also loved that it was affiliated with the nearby hospital. However it smelled strongly of Lysol in the store, but I guess I can't say that is a bad thing! read more
