The food was fine. The service is totally lacking. We ordered ahead for a 630pm dine in order on a Saturday after our daughter's soccer game. Everyone we interacted with were all totally flat and seemed very overwhelmed..... perhaps it is time to get more help so the staff that is there is not super overwhelmed. So disappointed I can't eat much, and I tried to order a kids' sandwich. The said only way I can is if I order soup or salad with it, that makes no sense. Some people have a lap band, and some people can't eat leftovers due to bacteria. I love the taste of their food, but I wish they had smaller portions for smaller eaters and people trying to portion control. read more

first off...good grinders.But its been YEARS since I had a pizza there.possibly 18 years...that said...we wanted to have a "sit down dining experience. we ordered a Perroni and cheese (16 inch) and the loaded meat one...within 10 minutes our pizzas arrived and the first thing I noticed was "instead of being delivered on a nice (tall aluminum pizza stand...they both arrived on "cardboard circles...As if I "bought a dozen pizza out of the freezer section of a grocery store, heated it up, bam... I knew when "they arrived at our table within 10 minutes they weren't "made by scratch, as you would get in a REAL restaurant or "bar"...Second, I asked for "extra grated cheese" and crushed pepper flakes...Normally, you get each one in a "glass shaker"...NOPE, we got "packets"...The pizza wasn't cut "all the way thru, so we went up and asked for a knife...You guessed it"a plastic butter knife"...Try sawing thru a hot pizza with that one a "cardboard circle...Pulled all the cheese and topping off...The whole "experience was a disappointing "mess"...I make homemade pizza at home "all the time, from scratch...I "just wanting to treat myself for once, and sit down and enjoy a nice pizza made by someone else"...To tell you the truth, we hoped to go to "Pins Bowling in Ithaca, but, weird...They were closed due to Trivia on Tuesdays...BUMMER! ...My granddaughters wanted an "inside sit down pizza party"...Mancino's was the next closet in Gratiot County".I remembered "how delicious Mancinos pizza was 18 years ago...You waited a good 20 plus minutes for them to "make it by hand", but "it was worth the wait". Back then, you got your "grated cheese and red pepper flakes in shakers, and REAL silverware that you "replaced in a container when you finished your pizza... Which, was "so totally different from the one we had today...The crust was like cardboard, and the sauce was so acidic(like tomato paste) Instead of a relaxing experience "it was a battle just to try and get the slices apart....plastic knives? seriously? Yet alone the "frozen boxed pizza they just pop in their ovens and ready in ten minutes...oh, and don't "even get me started on their 7 inch fried pizza bread...I don't think it was 5 inches around...never again... this area Should never have closed Pizza Hut in Alma...Now we have really no other selections to go for a "good "sit down pizza experience"...At least "Pins" bowling in Ithaca gives you REAL plates, and their pizzas ARE made from scratch... As far as Mancino's...I will just stick to their grinders...we tried. our granddaughters, 7 and 14 were taste testers...kids tell the truth... I especially was Very disappointed...So much for "my treat out getting pizza". read more

THEY HAVE GLUTEN-FREE!!!! I grew up in this area and have always loved Mancino's grinders and when I moved back this fall it was a huge amazing surprise they had gluten-free pizza and bread. Both are more expensive as they include an up charge, however I'm used to that and find it so worth it to have one of my favorite treats! As anyone, with diet restrictions, is aware when going out to eat normally means less to no options... it is pure delight to know the entire menu is mine of the choosing. Thank you Mancino's! P.S. I don't have Celiac's therefore, I highly suggestion anyone that does, do you're own research if this place a place for you. I'm simply allergic to gluten and don't have to be as careful as other folks. read more

I love pizza, but this place is terrible. The Bosco sticks have no flavor, the mozzarella sticks are worse and the pizza is mediocre. Will not return anytime soon. read more

Moved to this area recently, heard from a few locals that this one wasn't very good. Regardless, I stopped in to give them a try. The tuna grinder at other Mancinos are usually my favorite. So after a not too long wait, it was given to me wrapped in thin tinfoil, inside a too short paper to-go bag. No cool cardboardy box like the other ones use? What I found was a soggy mess of a sub. The bread and contents were all mushy. I don't think it was in the oven long enough, nor at a high enough temperature. I've worked in restaurants, so I'm somewhat knowledgeable of kitchens. Bottom line, I was not pleased nor satisfied. The person taking the order was just minimally friendly, no greeting, no smile. No "thanks for the tip" even when I paid. The girl who brought me the sub at least smiled and seemed sincere. Not sure if I will go back. read more

I ate at Mancino's often while I was in college and whenever I visit Alma I always return. The grinders are great. My personal favorite is the crab and seafood. They are huge, so the half portion is more than enough. The dining area is always clean and the employees friendly and helpful! read more

Not sure why this place isn't getting more good reviews. From out of town and didn't know what a grinder sandwich was. Now it's my all time favorite. Had a tuna grinder and it was awesome. This place has a large menu and gluten free items. Prompt service and a clean place. read more

Super bummed tonight. I LOVE Mancino's but tonight I'm not sure I'll be back. My nachos were soggy and hard at the same time. What the heck happened to the garlic bread? So tiny now & no cheese? After a long and hot day at the Scottish Games, we found Mancino's. It was clean and AC cool. The pizza is made to order so it took maybe 20 minutes. According to my parents, the regular pizza was delicious. The gluten free pizza was good too -- hard crust, tasty, and good toppings. My mother recently ate a meal with a group from her Assisted Living Facility, they also enjoyed watching a classic car parade. Unfortunately, for my mom, she had removed her mouthpiece (flipper) that supports her other teeth. Without this flipper, my mom would probably lose her remaining front teeth. We called the restaurant and asked them if they had seen it and they had not. We visited the restaurant and talked to the owner Wayne, who was very helpful. He wanted to view the restaurant video with us and we did so, he was trying to help us to see what happened. We eventually looked in his dumpster but decided that it was a lost cause. We gave my mom the bad news that we couldn't find it and she would have to get used to the fact that she had missing teeth. But Wayne, went through the dumpster, after we had left and found her missing flipper. To our surprise and with great joy, Wayne had called and let us know that he found it. We want the story known because Wayne has demonstrated that he's willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to help his customers and deserves your business.
