(I still drive to Boston to get my hair colored, as I will not trust a new colorist easily, especially one in a small town.) I made an appointment here for a trim, walked in at my time and was not greeted by anyone for about 3 minutes. There were hairstylists in view and no one at the front desk. Finally a woman came over, confirmed my appointment and said my stylist would be with me in a few minutes. 5 minutes later I left, went to my car to get something to read and came back. I waited another 5 to 7 minutes. In the meantime, I am judging the salon based on the brand of products they have displayed; this typically speaks to level of training the stylists have, and of course they are going to recommend this products. They have Paul mitchell, which you can also buy at Procuts. Not really impressed, but I'm just here for a trim. The salon area looks clean, the hairdressers appear to have decent hair styles. However, the clientele can be heard cussing and gabbing loudly from the waiting area, which gave it more of a bar/nightlife vibe. One woman's husband is even seated in the salon area, participating in the boisterous conversation. I get up and approach one of the hair dressers closest to me, asking if they know if (whatever the stylists name was, I don't remember) was around? She is at the adjacent chair, within view of the waiting area- which means she knew I was waiting and yet couldn't take 30 seconds to come and say hey I'm sorry, I'm running late. She does a decent job at a trim, but I really didn't appreciate having to wait so long while not being acknowledged by her. If I am the paying client, and a new client, I would think you would really step it up with the customer service- at least acknowledge my presence. Save your money and go elsewhere- I seriously have had a comparable haircut with better customer service at Supercuts. I am still searching for a local place to get my hair trimmed... I've been in this area for 2 years. I would rather pay more money to be treated warmly, as if I matter and I'm not a disposable commodity like I felt I was treated here. Disappointed.

After some recommendations I ended up at Salon De Moda. And boy am I glad I did ! They are open late during the week and have Saturday appointments for those of us who have to work until five or later. My appointment was for two and I was greeted and seated right then. Why make an appointment if I have to wait ? No waiting here. The salon is super clean and very inviting. The workstations look like tool boxes and they have all kinds of neat decor. I was entertained just looking around. Onto the hair experience, I was taken care of by Tanya who is also the owner. What a lovely woman. She did a consultation first which and advised me on what to do to make My hair look full but not have to get it done all the time. I was there for an hour and a half in which my hair was cut and highlighted. This is an hour less Than I've spent at other salons. I was offered a drink which is nice when your just sitting around waiting for color to set. The other stylists are friendly also and every one that walked by said hello and chatted with me for a bit. What a great experience. I can't talk price since it differs for everyone depending on what you have done and kind of hair you have but I can tell you it was reasonable. I love my hair. I would highly recommend going there if your looking for a Hairdresser. Tanya was awesome and I will see her again but I'm sure the other stylist are just as great. It was a very fair price and she was great!! Even though I fly home soon, at least I now know there's a good hair stylist nearby in Plainfield next time I visit. The salon was very clean and she's sweet and professional! The salon is in the same parking lot as La Cantina.

Then he proceeds to take out all these medications and take them while telling me what they're for (I don't care that you need Prozac!) I called and asked for an appointment with a Rachel and when they said she no longer worked there I booked with another stylist. I got Tara. I asked for only a little trim because I'm growing my hair out from a pixie and I SPECIFICALLY told her I did NOT want the layers on the left (fuller) side of my hair shorter than the right side. She started cutting and I mentioned she was cutting a lot off, she simply said it was dead and she had to so I let it go. I was sad but I let it go. I declined a blow dry and went home with wet hair. When my hair dried not only did I realize the inches she took off, but what did I discover?! The layers on the left side of my hair are WAY SHORTER than the right side! Also they flip out in a ridiculous way because she cut through a curl in a weird way. I look lopsided and ridiculous. I'm SO disappointed and furious.

The first time I came here I didn't know what to expect (i'd purchased a groupon to try this place out)... so glad I did!! Rachel took the time to listen to what I was wanting to accomplish and even pulled up some pictures for inspiration. I came back a second time... did not disappoint!! I not only got an amazing color & highlight done but also made an appointment for a return color & highlight... needless to say... I left this place feeling like I looked like one of those Pinterest Models and the prices are really good on all of their services.
