It's a great little escape from Kansas City that's under an hour drive from downtown itself. They have: -Tons of pumpkins -A maze -Goats, chickens, horses, pigs, and other animals -Cider slushies, candies, and fall goodies While we most recently visited on a Monday (kids were off school), the weekends are where it's at here. They have more food options, pony rides, and other fun stuff for the kids. It's understandably quieter during the week. Oh and let's not forget the overall setting: bucolic, relaxing, and pretty beautiful for Missouri countryside is I may say so myself. I totally see why people get married here.

I realize outside is a little safer but I don't want to be forced onto a wagon with strangers who may not be wearing masks. This review is more for people who are wondering about their guidelines and if it's safe. They do usually have pre-picked pumpkins for sale that you don't have to ride a wagon to get to which is nice but I think I'll have to find a pumpkin patch that has some actual guidelines for Covid this year.

The space is located just outside of Weston, and the ceremony area backs up to a beautiful field with a tobacco barn in the distance. They've done a lot of landscaping around the area, so there are flowers and mature trees any where you look! They've got two places outdoors where you can have an open-air wedding, and they even have a third space that's covered. Yay for an included rain plan! Christy and Kate, the owners, were wonderful to me throughout the wedding planning process! They returned my emails in a timely manner, and were easy to work with to make my dream wedding happen. I like that they allowed us to use several different things throughout the property without an additional charge. I even needed a small table for the ceremony and they took one right out of the management office for me to use for the day! These ladies know how to figure things out and make it work! When I got the hair brained idea that I wanted wedding pictures IN the tree out front, they found me a stepladder to make it happen. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because of a couple of snafu's during the months leading up to the wedding. About a month after we signed the contract, we got a letter from them saying that we suddenly had to pay taxes on something that wasn't included before. It wasn't a huge amount, but it was $200 or so that we hadn't planned on, and I'm still unsure of what exactly we were having to pay for. The other issue was that the lady (note that it was neither Kate or Christy, although they showed up later in the day) who was there while we decorated wasn't the most friendly. I never got the lady's name, but she criticized our drink choices, made fun of the decorations, and when I went to fill up a bucket of ice, she told me that it was too early to do so. (I knew I had guests coming in a couple of hours and I wanted to have the water bottles cold before they got there. I also knew that I wasn't going to have anyone around who could fill the buckets for me later, so what ended up happening? The groom and I filling up metal washtubs with ice...in our wedding outfits!) Nothing the lady did was really "bad" per se, just a bit unprofessional. The day was wonderful, and it wouldn't have been that way without Eventful. The place is moderately-priced, too, for the amount of space that you get, so it's definitely a place I would recommend!

Apparently, it's hard to get a spot to reserve for the venue and I somewhat see why.The parking area to the main venue area is a climb especially if you have heels and/ or older guests with you. Do I recommend it? Yes but I might want to look other places since I don't feel like it's unique.

It had a vibe of a deserted pumpkin patch--random picture ops like phone booths and other oddities scattered around that didn't seem to quite make sense. There was a sign for a general store, but it didn't look open, if it was ever a store at all. Then, we found some double saloon doors leading to what appeared to be a bar. A sign inside said, "If you want a drink, call Jeff." Now, I don't know where Jeff was or what he was up to if he wasn't tending bar, but I wasn't about to find out. We snapped a few pics of the dusty artifacts, but didn't venture too far. After all, we were on a quick weekender, and the idea of a trip to urgent care for a tetanus shot didn't seem like the best plan. All in all, it was a quirky stop with some decent photo ops, but I read there's a B&B on the property. Can't say I'll be booking a stay anytime soon, though!
