I don't bowl so I am rating this solely on the food. Had a tenderloin, fries, and a drink for $10. Hard to beat that price and it was hot and delicious. The place was clean. Very friendly service. And a very nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed just sitting there chatting with the cook. I watched her pressing beef patties and putting them on wax paper so I asked her what else she made fresh and she said "Almost everything". I'll definitely be back to try the burgers and some of the other items on the menu. read more

I have been in charge of organizing our company's annual bowling party for the past 3 years. We normally go to the lanes in NKC, but after comparing cost we chose to come farther north and go to Gladstone Bowl. For $45 you can rent a lane for 2 hours. This covers the cost of shoe rental and a soft drink pitcher. We rented 5 lanes for 25 people which broke down to less than $10 per person. On Saturday afternoons they dim the lights which adds to the atmosphere. They also have a snack bar inside - "Smitty's Diner", which has great burgers and the prices were very reasonable. You can't go wrong with $5 - 6 beer pitchers. Two thumbs up from everyone in our group. A very economical way to spend a couple of hours on a weekend. See ya next year! read more

Went here with my 5 year-old daughter a few days after Christmas & had a great time. This is really old school bowling as good as it gets. Old TV screens with the 3 pointy arrows denoting who's turn it is, fugly-ass Velcro bowling shoes, greasy food & huge sodas in Styrofoam cups. (Also booze if that's your jam). The guy at the front was super nice & helpful. I had some questions about how to get set up with my little one & he was happy to help & guided us to a very sweet older man who pulled up our bumpers & brought us our balls (chuckles). They keep the light balls in the back so the "damn teenagers don't just come in & fling 'em down the lanes". Damn teenagers. Let's be clear, the light ball was for my kindergartner. Mine came in at a whopping 2lbs heavier. The ladies at the snack bar/bar were very nice. I just wanted a light snack & I always ask for recommendations. She said beer-battered fries are greater than tater tots which are greater than regular fries. (Yelp doesn't allow the "greater than/less than" symbols?). So...we got the beer battered fries with a huge Sprite in a Styrofoam cup & a side of ranch. Thumbs up. The clientele (while not within the bowling alley's control) were also very friendly & we had fun all bowling together. Just gives you an idea of the crowd the place draws. The sweet older gentleman was always walking around making sure things were going smoothly & helping folks find their balls (another chuckle). I live literally one block from Main Event where I once spent over $30 for one hour of bowling & my little one was bored after about 15 minutes. We spent less than $30 here for 2 hours of bowling, shoes, snacks & drinks & she had more fun (old school like her mama, SCORE!). The ONLY thing they could do better to earn my last star, is play music or the radio or something. Some random lane that nobody was on kept buzzing because of a foot fault (that might be tennis) or something & that was annoying. Some tunes would've drowned that out & entertained everyone a bit more. But, all in all, we had fun & will be back. Thanks for keeping it old school, Gladstone Bowl. read more

What a delightful afternoon! My grandson, daughter-in-law, and I came for the young man's first bowling outing. (We could have had up to 5 total.) The price was very reasonable for 2 hours of bowling, shoes, and a pitcher of soft drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I hadn't been in for a few years and Gladstone Bowl has really upgraded with excellent equipment. We were able to reserve the lane a week ahead so as not to have to wait for a lane, and they even rescheduled for us after the family had to sit out a week because of a covid test. This was relaxing family fun of the classic variety; we will certainly be back. I live not far from their facility and am proud to have a business like this in Gladstone! read more

5- Galactic bowling! I haven't been bowing in quite a few years! We made a prepaid reservation over the phone (the gentleman stated they only take reservations certain times of year, so don't get upset if it's FCFS) The facility is clean and nicely set up. Laser lights and music to enjoy while bowing. (The music could have been just a little louder, I couldn't really hear it over the crashing pins) Check in and out was easy! We went a little early 8:45ish and avoided the 9pm rush. We managed to squeeze in Three games during our allotted time. NEGATIVE 5 stars the service at the bar, the woman was so rude and unpleasant. At one point I almost asked her what her problem was. During the course of our evening we ordered a couple of buckets of beer and at one point I asked her to make a mixed shot (pineapple upside down cake) she literally said "you want me to get the cake vodka from the corner" let out a sigh and grabbed her step stool. She angrily mixed our drinks and served them. I gave her a $20 for the $9 round she handed me back a $10+$1 I asked her if she could break the $10 so I could tip she ignored me.... so I placed the $1 in the bucket and went back to my lane. My over all experience was pleasant, our group had a good time. I would love to do this again, but we'll prolly try another location. The staff member we had the most I interaction with treated us the poorest and left a lasting impression. Not sure I can deal with the cranky bartender again. read more

Bald guy at front is a jerk. We called at 5:00 to ask if we needed to reserve lanes for galactic bowling, he said "nope first come first serve!" And immediately hung up. So we bring our kids up at 8:30 to get a spot and it's sold out, mind you there's about 10 people total in the whole place. So we ask how early we need to get here to reserve a lane? The same guy rudely says you can come in anytime to pay for a lane, I don't have time to reserve them over the phone! ??? Okay thanks for being rude. I haven't been bowling in forever, so I decided to surprise the husband with a bowling date. I had googled bowling alleys and it took me to the Gladstone Bowl website which has a ton of awesome deals listed. $2.50 shoes all day on Sunday and $1.00 games before noon! Sold! Games after noon on Sunday are only $2.75, so still a pretty solid deal. I was impressed with the building as well (granted bowling alleys have the bar set very low). Everything was clean, the bathrooms have lockers and are in good shape and we didn't have a single mechanical malfunction during our 3 games (doesn't it seem like something ALWAYS gets stuck?). We also got sodas and mini-funnel cakes from the snack bar and they were well-priced and DELICIOUS. Definitely equally to what you would get at a carnival, but without having to stand outside in the sun all day. They are small, however, so I wouldn't recommend sharing yours :) Anyway, great time at Gladstone Bowl! Clean, friendly and fun. A great escape on a hot Sunday for cheap! read more

Says that their alleys open at 10 am clearly incorrect! My daughters woke up super early to come and we are shocked by a full parking lot with people already bowling and no room for us. What a shame! Visited here for the first time recently (thanks to a Groupon), and I gotta say -- I'm impressed. And I'm not even a regular bowler. I called in to make my lane reservation, and the desk folk were insanely polite. Walked into the place, and you can just tell it has a lot of heart and soul behind it. Groupon says it's been around for 50 years; I'd believe it, because the folks running the place during my visit cared a lot about the place. I was sold when I picked up a soda and one of the desk guys (who just happened to walk by) suggested I check it first because he just changed the tank. That's paying attention to your customers. Galactic Bowling on weekend nights is $15/person (including shoes), for unlimited 2 hours of bowling. We bowled 4 games and probably could have gotten in a 5th if we weren't Tweeting and Facebooking so much. Plus, the drinks are dirt cheap -- sodas were less than $2, and the nightly alcoholic drink special of a mudslide was less than $4. This isn't your polished Lucky Strike or mega-plex bowling alley -- and that's a good thing. read more

Been bowling at Gladstone for a couple months now on a regular basis. Very unsatisfied with the management. Very rude lady at the front counter. She has constantly been rude everytime my family is their. Constantly switching our lanes, literally 3 times in 1 day. Very frustrating that they dont know how to do there jobs.. When I spoke with the owner about it, I didn't get an apology or anything and she was rude as well and just made excuses for her employees. I wish AMF was still around!!! Few people if any would think that a bowling alley would have good food. Well, Gladstone Bowl has some very good food. Nothing fancy. Not the fastest service either. But if you like a good greasy burger and crinkle fries, you will like this place. Good tenderloins and patty melts. HUGE onion rings also. But the best of the best, is the tacos. I have bowled league there and this bowling center is awesome! It has many different leagues, tournaments and competitions all year long. The food is good and very reasonably priced compared to other bowling centers in the area. The lane conditions are fair for all bowlers, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere there is conducive for all classes of bowlers ranging from the serious bowler to the recreational bowler. Also, smoking is only allowed in the back of the bowling center. I also think they do have a good senior league following and promote the sport of bowling for the youth in the area. read more

I don't know if I'll ever go back to Gladstone Bowl. I went there two weeks ago just before 9:00pm to sign up for Galactic Bowl, and the front desk clerk said that the last lane just got occupied. When I asked if there was any lanes with only 2 or 3 people that I could join so that I didn't waste my time showing up, they said they would ask the people on those lanes. They never did, and there was at least one reserved lane where the person who reserved it was at least an hour or more late. I decided to give it a second go around last weekend. I showed up at 8:30pm because I figured there would be at least 2 or 3 lanes remaining for Galactic Bowl. The front desk clerk took one glance at me from the corner of her eye, and quickly put up the "Galactic Bowling is Sold Out" sign. It's almost like she was told to do that deliberately just to get me to leave, and then she'd remove the sign. So, no thanks to the staff for being jerks to a potential, new customer to your establishment. read more

this is my second time having a bad experience here so I'm going to write a review. my partner and I like to come bowling for a fun night out occasionally as bowling is one of our favorite indoor activities. well I must say, the staff here and the people who bowl here can all be real sore losers sometimes. we've had multiple people make us feel extremely unwelcome simply because we are still young adults and don't understand everything yet. we also had a staff member make us feel unwelcome because there was a problem with our lane and she was blaming us for it even though we were being honest about what had happened. every time we come here for a fun night out we end up leaving with sour attitudes because we aren't treated like equals. i just want to be able to go bowling with my partner and leave in a happy state of mind for once. read more

I was really disappointed when I came in the last three times, both of your bartenders are horrible. I would fire them or at least give them a talking to, the older lady and the middle aged guy kind of balding man. I'm not the only person that thinks so. my friends were going to your bowling alley and I warned them, I said the bartenders are rude. they came back from their experience and they couldn't believe how right I was. I'm just saying if you want Gladstone bowl to be a nice place for people when they bring their families your bartenders need to go. Was visiting from California for a boxing tournament, I finished early and meet some new friends so we wanted to have fun. When we arrived it look kind of ghetto cause it's so small and hidden. As soon as we went in it was crowded so we were happy about that. People here are nice we got greeted and the man in the front desk was helpful. Prices here are great. 12$ bucket beers is really cheap especially since I'm from California lol...Me and my friends wanted to drink so we went to the bar and we were asked for ID's, which we had to get a wrist band in the front, so we did and they checked our ID's. One of the ladies didn't believe we were 21 so she double checked, It happens cause we looked young which was ok... went back to the bar and ordered our drinks, the bartenders at the bar one of them happy and easy to talk too and the other not so much and looked mad. We ordered our drinks and went to the little food stand they had to eat. Young lady there was helpful we hung out at the diner for a few minutes since we got there early for cosmic bowling. Food there was okie ordered chicken fingers and fries as well mozzarella sticks, mozzarella sticks weren't cocked all they way so they were still a little chunky and thick which we were disappointed about. Then a few minutes the man who helped and greeted us in the front came to us and told us "his boss was being an asshole" and wanted to check out ID's again which was odd. So we did and he gave them a good look and bended them and even took out his black light to see if they were fake which kind of ticked us off since we showed them once already. Once he finished he left and it was time for us to bowl. Bowling was fun, people were friendly and we made friends with the lane next to us until one them were kind of annoying since she was drinking the whole night and was kind of drunk. It was ok since we were drinking as well but weren't at her level. Soon later they bowled and some how broke there lane so they complained about it and and were being rowdy about it. My group ignored it and still had fun. At the end of the night I wanted ice cream and got one from their diner, they had a chocolate flavored ice cream Small tub so I order that, it kin of tasted old which was disappointing and ice cream itself seemed out of date lol. Still ate it since I had a sweet tooth for ice cream. Overall atmosphere was great and the service was great beside the ID Checks. Nice little bowling spot. read more

Just had lunch at the Gladstone Bowl. We had their tenderloin and taco salad. Both dishes were spectacular. The tenderloins is big enough for two people. One of the best in the Midwest. The taco salad reminds me of a salad I have had in Guadalajara. Big, bold flavored and way too much to eat. The meat is all Mexican with great South of the Border flavored. After all it is in a bowling alley but clearly a step above. read more
