I've been a client of Mandy's since 2016 and I am SO fortunate I found her. Mandy is the real deal and has become a good friend over the years. She has truly TRANSFORMED my skin and because of her, I was able to get my confidence back. Initially, when I came to her, I had the WORST breakout of my life. Cystic, blackhead, whitehead, you name it (pictured below). I had it all. The breakout lasted over a several month period before I saw her (approx. 3 months or more) and showed no signs of stopping, just getting worse. At the time, I was a sophomore in college and this gave me extreme social anxiety and insecurity as I was worried that people were constantly looking at my acne and not my face. Looks definitely don't mean everything to me, but I was tired of other people being so distracted by my face that they were treating differently. It was a very challenging time for me, but luckily my mom found this exact Yelp page when she was doing research and so we agreed to try her out. I was at the end of my rope -- so ready to give up and just accept the infected, acne-ridden skin I had. I didn't think it was possible to change it. I originally didn't have high expectations when I first saw her and I thought that this was going to be a dud, like all of my other efforts had been to fix my skin. Prior to Mandy, I had a dermatologist, had been on at least 3 different acne medications, including Acutane (many of which actually made me physically sick or ill -- almost hospitalized) as well as having tried so many face washes and masks that I truly thought that I was maybe cursed with acne for life. Since day one, Mandy has been kind, compassionate and extremely helpful when assisting me with my skin. I go see her anytime I possibly can to get my skin treated or when I have a question about a new product or skin regimen. I trust her 110% and she has more than delivered, over and over again. She treats all of her clients with the utmost professionalism and care, as well as personalizes her care to YOUR specific skin. Over the summer in college, when I went back to California, Mandy also did research for me and temporarily referred me to an acne specialist she trusted. In the meantime before I got back, they helped me. I have never gone back to anyone else about my skin -- not even a dermatologist -- because I have never needed to. Mandy knows her stuff and I have been able to fix my acne problem just with her. My face is living proof that what she does works. It might as well be magic to me, because I couldn't have done it by myself. All of the time and investment I've spent on my skin with her has been totally worth it and I would do it again if I ever needed to. Today, I still have acne trouble, but that is mostly due to hormones. Either way, Mandy has been there by my side to help me figure it out and make it manageable. Super impressed with Mandy and the service she provides. She's very thorough, professional and skilled. I enjoyed my facial, but really valued her advice even more. When I arrived, I was surprised to see the studio was in her home, but the room where she sees clients is really pleasant and the experience is essentially identical to a standalone studio space. She lets customers park in the driveway if street parking isn't easily available or if it's raining. After my facial when she was giving me aftercare advice, Mandy recommended that I use Vitamin C serum in the morning and a Mandelic serum overnight. She didn't pressure me to purchase them from her, which I really appreciated. I purchased both online and have been using them since, and they've made a distinct improvement in the appearance of my skin. It made me very confident in her recommendations and I would definitely purchase anything she recommended from her going forward, confident in the value of the recommended items. This was my first facial, ever. And certainly not my last. I had always been so nervous and worried about getting a facial so when I decided to go for it I wrote Mandy a ridiculous email filled with questions and concerns. She made me feel so comfortable and secure and that was just in the email! When I arrived there was water, a robe, and A HEATED BED!!! Perfect for this cold day in New Orleans. Mandy gave me options of services I could do and gave great explanations of both. We agreed on one and so it began. OH MY GAWWWWD...most relaxed I have probably ever felt. She is the skin whisperer. She touched my face for a few seconds and knew exactly what I needed. Just the cleanser she used alone was literally a 100% improvement from when I laid down, and it only got better. Let's see, where do I begin? I met Mandy about three years ago when she was working at a high-end Upper East Side spa. Coincidentally, I found her through a Yelp review. To be honest, I was skeptical as the facials I've had in the past were rather damaging to my skin. Over the past several years, I've battled adult acne. As you can imagine, it was pretty difficult to deal with and really impacted my self-esteem. But then I met Mandy, and her skilled hands slowly but surely helped transform my skin. I was truly astonished by her genuine kindness and attention to detail. She treated my skin with the utmost of care, explained every treatment and even provided me with tips to treat the skin from the inside out via diet and product recommendations. Her facials are 100% tailored to her client, which I think sets her apart from other aestheticians. She uses quality products and has (from what I can tell) state-of-the-art equipment. My treatments have included microdermabrasion, light therapy, extractions and others. Without a doubt, these are the best facials I've ever experienced. I would absolutely recommend Mandy! I was in New Orleans for vacation and at the last minute, decided that I wanted a facial/light chemical peel. Mandy was able to schedule me within a day of my inquiry. She is very knowledgeable about skin care. She chose a chemical peel that was safest for my skin type and made me feel very comfortable, considering this was my first peel. Any questions or concerns that I had following the facial, she was available to answer. I have a big issue with hyperpigmentation and I can see a huge difference in my skin after only one treatment. Mandy is wonderful- her facials will leave your skin feeling hydrated and looking clear and rejuvenated. I started seeing Mandy back in 2011 and her treatments were always stellar. She knows how to customize your facial to target your exact need(s), especially as your skin changes (seasonally, aging, etc). Your treatment may involve extractions, LED or a peel. This really depends on what you need at that point in time. I also appreciate that Mandy considers skincare from the inside out- she will ask a few questions on nutrition and habits which enable her to understand how lifestyle plays a role. Mandy will help you understand how you can help your skin in between treatments- by using certain product, tweaking diet, drinking more water. This is all up to you, of course, and there is never any pressure to do anything that doesn't work for you. Best tailored facial I ever had! I love getting facials they are relaxing. This facial was relaxing but I also feel as though she is putting me on the path to healthier skin. I have relatively healthy skin, but it isn't perfect and I believe she can help me to achieve healthier skin. Mandy is also great at extractions, virtual painless. Mandy's facials are absolutely amazing. She is such a sweet girl and makes you feel completely relaxed and comfortable. Down to earth is an understatement with this lady, she does not push anything on you and truly customizes the experience solely to your skin type and exactly what you need. I found Mandy from her previous place where people raved about her online. I use to use tons of product from Sephora from my skin, after seeing Mandy constantly my skin had changed from her magic! Mandy is all about making your skin better with each visit and building a relationship with your skin. If you want a spa for actual spa treatments this is the place to be. If you want something for the perks like a steam room etc, this isn't for you. I've been seeing her in NYC for about 4 years. My skin has change for the better. I had acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation skin. Mandy knows her stuff, she knows what products to use for different type of skin and ethnicity and she is all about the ingredients for your facials and the things you use at home - she will ask you an extensive history about your skin, just to know your deal! She also does the Lumi light which makes a drastic improvement. Her facials are customize to what is going on with your skin at that moment, which are the best. In the end, she gives a killer massage on your neck and arms - as to not let your time go to waste. Mandy doesn't try to sell you things like most places, if you ask she will recommend something. I bought this awesome acne/sunscreen that's so light weight and the prices are pretty much as the same as online. I love talking to her about my skin because I learn so much and I know she isn't bs'ing me since some of the same things she says, I've read online. I've been going to Mandy for 3 years and she is truly a gem, on a par and better than some aestheticians I've seen in Europe. When I first went to Mandy, I was extremely sensitive about the appearance of my skin because I was battling sudden onset adult acne for about a year, due to traveling and stress. Mandy has completed turned around my dry skin. She was so generous to honor credit that I had with The Skin Studio, which closed a few months ago (suddenly), offering services at half price for people such as myself who were "left hanging." I went to her thinking I would get a light peel, but she said she couldnt do that until we got my dry skin hydrated. Had a great facial, and left with three products that were very fairly priced and that have really helped my skin. Others have noticed! Mandy is no-nonsense and her fees are very reasonable.
