Went in for a blowout.. my hair was slightly damp.. so they didn't care to wash it again.. that's fine.. I got a blow out and it took forever considering the wash and most the dry was already done. They did a good job but this guy kept coming by with new products to put on my hair trying to up sell... if I want products, I'll ask.. the hairstylist was good but I didn't like the vibe in there.. seemed like high school all over again. read more

My review is specifically for Brittany Aston, I came here because of a new client deal she was offering on Facebook. I've had balayage done on my hair numerous times. They always free hand paint it and don't use tinfoil. However, Brittany did it with foil, and processed it for a LONG time. I wanted warm caramel pieces in my hair. What did I get? Bleach Blonde Highlight strips. I've honestly never been more unhappy with my hair. And when I told her, she put on a toner, which did get it more to a color I wanted. But guess what? After a few washes it came out! (Plus extra was charged for toner?? Never had a place do that). After three attempts of trying to get my hair right (when usually people can do it the first time! or at least second.) I can say that I feel pretty unhappy with the service here. Needless to say I won't be coming back. I'm giving two stars instead of one, because she did at least try to fix it. read more

I came into Mane Tamer for a consultation with Stacy and she was so nice and friendly and really loved the idea I wanted to do. So I booked my appointment. When I went in she was sooo fun and friendly. She had Louis help with my hair and my entire appointment was filled with fun conversation, good music, and they made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I came here for the first time with my daughter to get her hair colored. I met Karli on facebook when she posted pics of her work. My daughter loved it so we booked an appt. The shop is small and open. Probably less than 10 chairs. It wasn't very busy at the time which was great but I loved their atmosphere. The receptionist offered me coffee which thankfully they have vanilla creamer lol so I jumped on a cup quickly. The other hairdressers are very friendly and interactive. Her color treatment took quite awhile so I moved from coffee to wine :) The receptionist was doing a wonderful job making sure everyone was ok and keeping the place tidy. The prices range with hairdressers, For what my daughter recieved the price was fair. She loved her new look and we found a new stylist while she's in America. If you're in Murrieta and looking for a stylist give this place a try, even if it's just for a trim :) read more

Ask for Jessica, you won't regret it! She recently did my hair (cut and color). I drive up from San Diego to go to her because I ABSOLUTELY loved my hair after. The color was perfect and the cut was exactly what I wanted, I'm trying to grow my hair out. I loved that she actually listened to what I said, unlike a lot of other hair people. I waited to write this review until I had her do my hair another time because I wanted to know that she was consistent. It's been two years since I last went to a hair salon to have my hair dyed. After that I only went once to get a hair cut. I am always way too busy with work and school, so no time for anything else. Today I decided to give Jessica Utz a shot, who is a stylist at the ManeTamer Salon. I can't explain how pleased and happy I am with the results! I've waited 7 months to write this review so that I only stated the facts and not based on my emotional state after leaving. There's a saying and now I can relate, "A hair stylist can take down your self-esteem, change your whole look and destroy your self confidence with a pair of scissors!" I will agree the atmosphere is nice and the salon's personality/brand/decor was fun and uplifting. This review I can't base on the salon but of one hair stylist. December 31, 2016 I went to get my hair trimmed, colored and highlighted. I'm not a girly girl but was launching my own agency and wanted to look my best. I was very specific what I wanted done and what I didn't want. I went into Mane Tame with long beautiful thick hair (down my back). I left the salon with my hair up to my ears and later I found out she did a chemical cut because she fried my hair highlighting it. She said she had 20 years in color and showed me her portfolio with beautiful work. It turned out she had 20 in xerox machine color NOT hair color. That's not even a comparison when dealing with hair or paper. Needless to say I was there 4 1/2 hours and yes I still paid for a wack job that had me in tears for months. I still have to grow my hair out because two different hair stylists both said the highlights in my hair are fried and they won't touch my hair. How embarrassing to own my own business and have to work with salt and pepper hair that's grown out and the 5 inches that has been colored by a hair stylist at Mane Tame. To top it off I told the stylist I felt like I had been hazed, she replied I wasn't and put the blame on me. I'm not going to mention her name and if she's still at the salon she'll know exactly who I am. I've never written a negative review before but I feel that women need to know so that they don't have to go through what I did. I look at my hair every day and ask "WHY" & "HOW" did this happened. Please don't make my naive mistake and believe what is told and showed to you. Ask your friends for referrals. It turned out this hair stylist had just graduated cosmology school. While I'm sure there are good hairdressers at the mane tamer the one I had was awful. It was her first day there but she has been a stylist for 3 yrs. I showed her a picture and asked if she could do it. It was a long layered look with bangs. After watching her cut my ends with some stupid feather scissor cut she was going to blow it out I said wait aren't you going to layer the top and around my face. She says oh you want to frame your face. Why say you can do a style if you have no clue. It took an hour and I had to go to work or I would have asked one of the other stylist to fix it. The next day I left on a cruise and my hair was a mess. I would steer clear of Carmelita if you're looking for a good cut. I went to a salon instead of super cuts or fantastic sams thinking I would get a great cut. read more

This place is amazing. I don't get my hair done often and when I get a person or place I like I stick with it! I AM PICKY lol. I wish I knew about this salon sooner. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm happy smile as well as I enjoyed the quirky signs they have. Great personalized attention they matched my color and found exactly what I was looking for color still looks amazing and it's been over 2 months. I go red so that's a hard color to make last my cut incredible it was as if she was in my brain. Not only was it quality work everyone was extremely friendly it was fun just as a service should be I highly recommend this place and I am so excited I found my new hairstylist! I'm so glad I found this hidden gem of a salon! I went in on Monday and met Stacy. She had just started there that day and I was her first client (although she's been a stylist in OC for years) and she did not disappoint. I went for a wash and blow out that day then returned for a partial weave, root touch up, and cut. Stacy is a colouring genius and really listened when I told her how much length I wanted off my hair. My hair has never felt nor looked better. I'm really really looking forward to seeing her again to see what she comes up with next time . And make sure to ask to see her photo album of all the hair and makeup she's done for photo shoots.
