The last time I specifically asked to speak to someone in Hawaii, they said they would have someone call me from Hawaii. That was 2+ weeks ago, I am still waiting. The recording states there hours are 8 to 5, the sign on the door says the same, their website says the same. I went to drop off their paperwork during business hours and they were closed. Come to find out there is only ever a person at the Kona office when they are actually doing a sleep study. Beyond unprofessional in every single aspect. They made an appointment for me without my consent, called me the day before (from the Philippines) to confirm and got nasty when I said no I cannot come to an appointment that I did not schedule, it goes on and on

I spoke with the girl who was there during the night of my stay, and she said that the owner lives in Honolulu where he also owns a similar sleep center and he never visits his Kona sleep center! Had my sleep study in April. (Yes, the Hilo location is a dingy & ghetto as reported by othes…read moreugh!) My doctor referred me here, wish I'd checked it out prior to going. Was woken up at 3am, told I had severe sleep apnea & the technician begin putting masks on my face, I was not even fully awake and felt I was being suffocated. When I protested, the tech gave me attitude and left the room. She came back a few minutes later and was a bit more accomodating (not much). Found a mask that didn't suffocate me and tried to go back to sleep. She woke me up at 5am and told me the study was over and to go home that the doctor would contact me. Months of frustration later, trying to get a mask that fits...don't even try to call sleep center, they don't help with that, if you can even get them on the phone... The doctor now tells me the suppliers that need to help me....months later I have a mask that doesn't leak "too much" and am told I should be pleased with the results as everyone has challenges with the CPAP aparatus. How are they still in business?

I cancelled visits for my own patients to pick up a sleep study kit at 115 PM. I waited in the Waimea primary care lobby till 145 and was told only then that my appointment had been changed to 2 PM. Clearly, I could not cancel more of my own patients. I returned to a call from the Dr. Russo's office, which I immediately returned. The individual I spoke with was loud, harsh, spoke over me, interrupted me, and eventually belittled my role as a community provider and licensure (APRN rather than physician). All this, within the course of informing me that I'd need to cancel and/or reschedule more of my own patients in order to pick up the kit to make up for this completely unavoidable lack of aloha and timeliness. The APRN who assessed me on Monday was pretty wonderful, but I cannot recommend this type of unprofessionalism. ~ A Psychiatric nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, addictions APRN and a few other silly things that evidently aren't worth their time of day or even the semblence of professional courtesy
