I had the privilege of dropping in to CF AllStar for a week during a work trip and it was absolutely incredible. I got the chance to work with coaches KC, Tehani, and Kayah and each one of them exemplified what the CF coaching standard should be. They took time to check in with everyone, help with mechanics and technique, and motivate during the workouts. I learned so much from each of them during the warm up that I could take back home with me. Outside of the staff, the community is warm and welcoming. Wonderful visitor drop-in experience! From ease of booking session (their website) to the friendliness of their community and knowledge of the coach, I felt welcome and safe for my workout. Thorough warm-up and review of movements. Taped-off workout squares on the floor to ensure social distancing and excellent protocol for cleaning equipment. Life in the time of Covid... I am a competitive weight lifter. I panic when I travel because it's so hard to find gyms that will accommodate me when I travel so I can maintain my program. Not only did crossfit allstar accommodate me, but head coach Wayne actually gave me a cue on my clean that is seriously game changing. I've been a crossfit coach in NYC and I've dedicated myself to weightlifting for 3 years now. Never has someone picked up so quickly on one of my bad habits and then given me a cue to fix it! Wayne is a true gem of a coach, not to mention embodies friendliness. In fact, every one of the members was so friendly and welcoming. I was going to try out other gyms on the island while here, but I will come back to this one solely bc it was so great. They also have kg plates, good bars, 3 platforms and plenty of space. A really awesome set-up! Update: I met KC, the owner tonight. She also exudes an amazingly calm, inviting spirit. She has a guest pass for visitors: $50 for a week. I was a visitor from another town (Kailua Kona) and did the one week unlimited plan. Owner KC and all coaches were awesome. They showed me good forms, and made sure that I knew what I was doing for the workouts. The members at the gym were very friendly and made me feel at home and like I was a part of their community. I highly recommend visiting them, even for a short while if you don't live in Waimea. I was on a stay-cation at the time and it felt very good that I still worked out most days. read more

If you're staying in the Waikoloa Beach area, it's 25-30 minutes up the hill to Waimea to CrossFit AllStar. I'd talked with 3 different people during my stay that recommended we visit CrossFit AllStar. 7 of us attended their CrossFit class and had an awesome time! Programming was good, Coach Winston was excellent (he insisted I partner with somebody I didn't travel with) and the community of this box was amazing! Lots of Aloha! We had so much fun, 2 of us decided to attend their Barbell class (Coach Wayne rocks)on The next morning and received the same warm reception as the previous day. I cannot say enough positive things about this gym. I'm visiting from California for the week and staying at the Mauna Kea. I train Olympic weightlifting back home and emailed the gym to see if I would be able to drop in and do my own program while I was there. I heard back from KC (the owner) in less than a day letting me know that I am more than welcome to drop in and she gave me her cell to text her when time got a little closer. I dropped in on Sunday morning during their barbell club with Coach Wayne who was great! My brother in law came with me who has never done any crossfit or olympic weightlifting and Wayne was SO attentive and helpful. I then dropped in 3 more times throughout the week. KC and the other coach were both so great. They let me use one of the platforms while the cf class was going on. KC was went above and beyond to accommodating for allowing me to drop in to do my programming. In addition, everyone at the box is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Just about every single person introduced themselves and welcomed us. A couple members actually remembered our names when we came back. I have been to other cf gyms in Hawaii and people have not been like this. I think at other boxes in Hawaii they're used to people visiting and don't bother getting to know them, but that is not the case here. Sure there was another cf gym closer to Mauna Kea, but this was 100% worth the drive. 4 times! I dropped in to this box during my vacation in Kona and the big island and really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was very welcoming, a little more intimate and everyone was very friendly. I was able to work out in an all women's class which was pretty awesome! It was a smaller class but as usual class size varies day to day. The ladies were amazing! I have tried just about every exercise program out there, including four different things in Waimea. None met my expectations like CrossFit AllStar! Where do I begin? CrossFit itself has become quite a fad, but there is a core philosophy that really makes sense. Every day is a different set of exercises. Some are for cardio fitness, others to help with brute strength, and a bunch that combine those two things with gymnastics. Every day is a new challenge for your body and mind. You track your progress and can see improvements in speed, agility and strength. The very best thing about CrossFit AllStar is the owner, coach and inspirational athlete KC Stallsmith. She has pushed me when I needed it, been there for a hug when I let myself feel defeated, found challenging alternatives for me when part of the workout wasn't right for me, and is always right there, cheering me on! AND she does this for EVERY PERSON who walks through the door. Her philosophy is that everyone is an athlete, and she makes it happen! The range of ages, abilities, and body types at CFAS would astound most people, I think. A typical class feels like a family gathering: old, young, men, women, fit, skinny, overweight, high-energy, quiet, intense. One can quickly feel comfortable here, but never complacent! I dropped in to CrossFit AllStar near Waimea for a class while on vacation in Waikoloa, and I really enjoyed it. Really great and unique gym - so big, colorful, organized, and a lot of great equipment. They have a really positive and energetic vibe, too. I stopped in for the 5:00 am class and it was packed -- probably 20 people. The coaches were excellent, the members were welcoming, and I had a really good workout. Would definitely return if I was in town. They have some really cool T-shirts and tanks, too. read more

This CrossFit is awesome! KC and Josh are legit. I normally train at a CrossFit in the Midwest, but I stopped by CrossFit AllStar this week while I'm in town on vacation. KC and Josh helped me get more reps and a better time in 13.1 than I did at my home gym. They are so welcoming and motivating. I wish they could come back to the Midwest with me and train at my gym too! Also, their facility is nice and open. And kid friendly! I've never seen that before! Seems pretty unique! KC really genuinely cares, and after meeting her you'll feel like you've known her forever. She made me feel that way after only a few emails. I'm so happy I found this CrossFit while I'm in town. I first started training at CrossFit AllStars about a year ago. I was looking for something new, different and challenging; a fitness routine that would compliment my goals and lifestyle. It was truly humbling at the start, but Coach KC and Josh demonstrated a patient ability to train and motivate clients of varying levels. I was even able to work through and continue training after a horrible achilles injury. KC modified every workout to accommodate my limitations while rehabilitating and building my injured calf and tendon. I won a one month membership to KC's CrossFit AllStars this year. I was out of shape and not big on working out but KC made it fun and I truly looked forward to going to the On Ramp classes! She is an awesome trainer - super friendly, very easy to talk to, very knowledgeable in every aspect of working out and maintaining a healthy diet and she encourages everyone to try and do their best. I had no idea what I was getting into when I first 'showed up' for a free intro class. I just wanted to get back in shape and lose a few pounds. Its been a pretty unbelieveable experience and journey so far. Kc and Josh are super fantastic together and they compliment each other well. They are professional, educated on their craft and skills and just awesome, top of the line people as well as coaches and motivators. To me, Crossfit is result driven in every aspect. I started the Crossfit On-Ramp Program awhile back and I absolutely got hooked to the workouts, the facility(#1 box), and KC my trainer. It's the perfect area to get your training done and meet great people. Everyone was so friendly and a very safe environment. I wanted to go back everytime and just got into Crossfit even more but I had to stop cause of my back injury that I hurt during volleyball. But I'm recovered from it and can't wait to head back to Crossfit in January!!!Even though I missed my last on-ramp classes and haven't been back since KC has still sent me emails and willing to give me exercises that will not re-hurt my back and go from there to make it stronger.
