My friends and I rented a boat from this place at a decent price, but then I felt taken advantage…read moreof by them. First off, the boat didn't have a full tank of gas and they charge a flat rate of to fill up the tank. We ended up having to pay the flat rate even though we only spent approximately 2 hours of cruising (tbh not even 2 since we anchored it and spent some time swimming) and we were supposed to have 6 hours with it. Secondly, the kill switch tether had gotten pulled out, which we weren't even aware that it had a kill switch. We called for help and none of their employees could help us. The guy on the phone said to sit tight and let one of their employees come out and handle it, which was fine, but their employee got there and couldn't help us out. As an employee of a boat company, who comes out to help the customers who get stranded in the water, they should be trained with the basics of what to look for. Well, this employee didn't know to check for the tether. Don't get me wrong, the employee was absolutely nice and actually a cool guy. He spotted what appeared to be an oil or gasoline leak and at this point I was thinking this was out of our hands, after all none of us are boat mechanics. Finally, we get towed back, with no one knowing it was a kill switch tether and thinking it was an engine problem and had gotten charged with a steep price after they found out it was the tether the next day. Since none of their employees could help us out with the issue on why our boat suddenly stopped working and it was something as simple as a kill switch that we had no idea about and neither did any of their employees as well, I feel like we got scammed. This place seemed like a good place at first, but after this experience, I'm never going to take my business there and I feel like you should know why. This establishment was close to…read moreour camp ground and had amazing reviews so we booked a pontoon from noon-7pm. $550.00 for one pontoon. Half of the money was due to book and the remaining amount due the day of. I appreciated that the company stayed in great communication with us before, during and after our trip. When we arrived we were greeted kindly by Nils. He asked us to off load our gear and we parked our vehicle across the street. He had a trolley that we packed full of coolers and beach bags to tote down to the dock. There were steps with handrail down to the dock to our pontoon. Nils helped get our gear down and his father helped us get our gear up the stairs when we came back. Super helpful! Before I headed down I needed to use the restroom and they had a outdoor outhouse that was more like a luxury toilet. Sink with water, a toilet that flushed built with beautiful cedar and stocked full of feminine products, paper towels, toilet paper, and it was VERY clean. When we boarded the pontoon Nils reviewed the operators instructions in details and the expectations of using the equipment with proper safety. They provided physical laminated sheets that also had a QR code with information on boater safety, and the map of the lake. We were given a full tank of gas. We were told any fuel we used they would replace for a few, they would dispose of the garbage, and our bottles. The boat with outfitted with a trash bin and a bottle bin for access. He asked when we come back to notify him 10 minutes in advance and he meet us at the dock, jumped into the water, came out to our boat and docked it for us. Excellent customer service. 10 out of 10! Highly recommend.

We had such high hopes for a great day on the water. We had three families and rented a very large…read morepontoon and tube for tubing. We were told to be at the landing at 10:30 for an 11 o'clock reservation. We were greeted with a man very irritated with us dropping off our coolers and bags. Apparently we were supposed to walk everything down from the parking lot. Not a problem but we were not told and there wasn't a sign. We didn't need to start our day with attitude but no big deal. The boat shows up at 11:10. We now have been waiting for 40 minutes. Kind of irritating but we are looking forward to a good day, so again, we shake it off. We take the boat out and it immediately stalls. We can not go faster than a very slow speed. We tried calling for about a half hour with no answer. We finally get someone and they say the fix to this problem, is to go sit at the sand bar for half an hour. Didn't send anyone out, they just want us to go sit. After sitting for about 1-5 to 2 hours, trying to make the best of the situation, we tried it again and it's still stalling. After calling them back again, they were angry with US. We are now arguing with them by phone and text in the middle of the lake on our fun day out. They have no solution and the only thing they offered was to take $100 off of our rental. We couldn't use the boat or the tubes and paid $600 for the day. The last thing they said, as you can see from the picture of the text, is that we need to still pay for the gas and "congratulations" on making them give us money back. They couldn't have been more petty at this point. We would have been more upset with the absurdity of them asking that, but we didn't use any gas because THE BOAT DIDN'T WORK. They ended up refunding us $225 after all that. We still paid too much but it's not worth the fight. Sometimes things happen that are unfortunate, but to be treated so terribly the entire time was just not right. To get nasty with us and not even come out to see if they could fix the boat, was unprofessional. The text message was rude and uncalled for. I would not recommend this company and certainly would never use them again.

A lot of companies charge around $600+ then they throw a $125 fuel charge on it as well. This was the average cost for a full day rental when I was looking. Then I came upon H2O Sports Rentals. I called the number listed and the owner, Nick, answered and was nothing less than professional and knowledgeable. For a full day rental, fuel included, was $400!! He explained everything and in order to book the rental, I had to place a deposit. There was 4 adults and 5 kids total. We rented the pontoon for the full day. Nick met us at the dock on time and went over the boat with me. The trip was amazing and the boat ran great! It's perfect for a large family wanting to relax on the water for a day. Kayaks are really see-through. Really fun way to explore Torch Lake - checked out the sand bar and kayaked the perimeter a bit as well. Comfortable, sturdy/stable, and a fun experience all around. Owner was super nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend - and would do again the next time we're up there!
