The manager, Alicia, has been incredibly unprofessional and difficult to deal with throughout this process. I have also contacted corporate regarding my concerns and complaints, yet I have never received any correspondence, follow-up, or acknowledgment from them. We have been H&R Block customers for over ten years, and we have never experienced this level of poor customer service. What is especially disappointing is that H&R Block has acknowledged responsibility for the mistake, but they are only covering $6,000 of the resulting costs. We are still dealing with additional penalties and interest charged by the IRS that have yet to be addressed or reimbursed. For a company of this size, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, accountability, communication, and attention to detail. Instead, we have been left to repeatedly chase the company for updates and resolution on an issue that was caused by their own error. After more than ten years as customers, this experience has seriously damaged our trust in H&R Block.

I asked simple questions regarding my claim benefit and his charges (so I understood the process and estimated charges) and he would not answer the questions only saying "the ARAG claim will cover the services". I asked for an explanation once again and he ghosted me for weeks. When I followed up asking for answers to my questions, Chris asked me to provide the claim number once again. I then asked if he saw my questions in the email. Chris Responded "I am unable to help you". I then called Chris to try to talk through it with him. He refused to say anything but repeated "I am unable to help you". He then abruptly hung up the phone. It's very odd that someone is confident they can help you until you ask about the billing process and all of a sudden they are "Unable to help". It seemed more like he was "unwilling" to help rather than "unable". I suspect he planned to do the minimum and charge the maximum. Perhaps my line of questions prevented that from happening. Do yourself a favor and find a kind professional willing to provide services at a fair and transparent price. This guy will just hang up on you. :(

The AI agents were horrible, kept sending me through the same loop, and ultimately I gave up and left a 3*. After their prompt response by a real person to set up an appointment, I decided to take down my review to potentially leave a better one if things went well. I was scheduled for an appointment about a week out, and at the time of the appointment, I called the number and received another virtual assistant (not AI to my knowledge), who told me that the person I had the appointment with was on another call. I left my number and was never contacted, until about 3 weeks later, by email calendar invite, telling me that another appointment had been set up in another week or two. I already got my issues handled by another CPA and will be working with that other firm in the future. I hope this firm here gets their virtuals and artificials straightened out soon
