An excellent school…read more Note: I am a St. Viator alum, class of 2001. I had an excellent education at this school, and would recommend it to everyone. Class sizes are somewhat small, and for the most part, the faculty is great. During my time as a student, I found the faculty to be very caring. They work hard to make sure every student excels. This is something I think helped to turn me around from an average student in Freshman year to a great student with a passion for learning in my Senior year. One thing to be aware of: this school has a mandatory drug testing policy for all students starting in Fall 2007.

Came to the Appraisal Institute for a free CFA workshop held by Stalla, I didn't even know this…read moreplace existed! It's hidden in one of the many office buildings on Wacker Drive, and upon entering the lobby, it appears to be just-another-office-building. After probing around, the building actually had restaurant, sundry shop, valet parking, and travel agency located on-site!! As we chatted with the security guards, I learned that the 205 building is actually a historic site built since the 1920s. Apparently, the building was originally built for "Engineering" firms, thus formerly known as the "Engineering Building." Neat fact of the day eh? The CFA workshops were held on the 2F, where we were led into 2 HUGE conference style meeting rooms! The rooms are sectioned off with division screen like dividers that actually sound-proof. It was a great space for the workshop, and can probably seat up to 200 people combined! It was a nice surprise to find a piece of Chicago History through an otherwise mundane CFA workshop... ;)

A friend had a meeting to attend at Northwestern University on Chicago's near north side (May…read more2026). We cooled our heels nearby, and found some cool old artifacts in the medical library at Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine. Interesting and, well, a bit much for me :-) We spotted a pedal powered dental drill at the Northwestern medical library.  It made my teeth hurt just looking at it. And a skeleton model, anatomically correct but obviously not a real skeleton. I think we entered from the atrium side on Superior, and the exhibit was on the 2nd floor. It's probably not exciting enough for a trip just to see this, but if you're here anyway, check it out!

We aren't regular members here anymore now that they are in Winnetka since it's not as convenient…read morefor my kids, but occasionally I call for tutoring when my kids need extra help on a concept or want to review before a test. My 2 older kids had tests this week and asked me to book sessions with the House so i called and they were able to set my daughter up with Silas and my son up with Emmy at the exact times I wanted. That alone is a win! We've used many of their tutors (Kyle and Young to name a few) at this point and they've said great things about all of them. Silas and Emmy were no exception and helped them review for their math tests. I also received notes from each of them a few days later recapping how the session went, which is super helpful for a parent. When my kids attend New Trier at the Winnetka campus I could see us resuming our membership, but in the meantime it's a great option for sporadic tutoring.

King lab is a good school! I felt tho in the middle of 7th grade because I need more help with school! So if your kids need extra help don't send them to king lab. King lab does try there best, but I think that if your kid needs more help then send them to a different school!
