I had called several other places, provided photos of what needed removed, and never had a response from any of them. After waiting for days for a response from these other companies - at the very last moment I got the referral to Taylor - and by last moment, we needed him to go out there the next day. Although he wasn't able to start the job the next day (no issue there - he had a ridiculously short notification!), he made it a point to come out the next day and see what had to be done. He got back to me right away and let me know that he would be able to do the job. Now just to throw some problems Taylor's way, I was working with him from my company's HQ in Los Angeles, the job was in Taft, and we weren't going to be able to have anyone there on the day we arranged for the work to be done. Taylor arranged to have someone drive from Taft to our Bakersfield branch to pick up the key so they could get the job done. Toolman Taylor and his crew cleaned out everything we asked them to and even helped us get a heavy press taken down to the dump. Taylor sent photos after the job was done and they did a fantastic job. The key was returned and they sent us an invoice for the agreed upon amount - no extra charges and no surprises. They replaced boards that needed to be replaced with new boards. The fence was reinforced with galvanized poles which made the fence more sturdy and should last for years to come. I hired Rafael, because he was very professional and reasonably priced. He was kind, considerate and very respectful of time. I first came to know AWA painting because they were repainting the facia of a house down the street…read morefrom me. I was walking my dog and stopped to watch them for a moment, since I was also in need of a full exterior paint job on my house. Unlike some paint crews, I noticed how clean and careful they were and the job looked great, and the crew was professional looking. I worry sometimes about crews with teenage looking kids with no experience, that's not the case here. That day I called them and the owner, Younis, came down to my house at the end of the day and gave me a quote. We have a stucco house, and Younis told me we would have to either prime before painting or use a higher quality paint that water proofs the stucco and seals it. I had already had 3 other notable painters in town come out and give me quotes and no one ever mentioned the challenge with stucco, sealing cracks, trenching below the dirt at the bottom, priming and painting any metal with oil based paint (we have a huge steel balcony). Younis, pointed out things that I wasn't even aware of. He looked at the job and emailed me a quote the next day after carefully evaluating the job. To my surprise, the quote was cheaper than the top dogs in town and he was using far superior paint products and doing way more than anyone else. We decided to go with AWA and told him we had to wait to get the paint approved by the HOA etc., he was extremely patient with us and once we confirmed, he started the job very quickly. I was surprised that, Younis, the owner, actually did the painting. He's not one of those spoiled contractors who leave a crew at your house who don't speak English. He was the main painter and checked with me every single day throughout the project. I am extremely picky and we made many small changes along the way. He never appeared bothered and just worked with me to make it happen the way I wanted. The price never changed. He even installed new lighting fixtures for us and really took pride in the project. We could not be happier with AWA Painting. I feel very lucky and don't think I would have had the same experience with any other painter. We plan to do more inside projects and will definitely use them.

We bought the home in 2019. We have the permits and information from when and who completed it..when I began to notice problems, I decided to look up this company on the internet and see if anyone else has these issues. No surprises, many of these reviews are having the same issues. My roof over the last year (so year 6 of the roof existing, which roofing should not have to be replaced for minimum 20 years. I have sections of shingles in small pieces that have been blowing off periodically for the last 2 years, but recently a huge portion has blown off. We also have a section of attic that is exposed because the vent cover and shingles in that area have blown off or were never installed, not sure which. I don't go up on my roof often enough to know. Shingles are supposed to be nailed down, but also they have a backing to them that over time heats up with the roof and adheres it even better to the area its been nailed to and the underlayment. Bakersfield is not somewhere that has hurricane or tornado winds. Its fairly mild. So the only explanation I have for my continuously problematic roof is poor installation and craftsmanship by this company, which is only more obvious by others having the EXACT SAME issues as me. Please, do not use this company. Save your future self some sanity and money and do not call them.

While I understand weather can play a role, I found it concerning that none of the neighboring homes built at the same time appear to have the same issue.
