I started working with Anthony after my handicap ballooned from a 9 to a 14. I'd picked up some bad…read morehabits and was feeling lost--like I was grinding without getting better, feeling stuck. Anthony helped me reset my fundamentals and put together a smart, structured plan to rebuild my swing. What sets Anthony apart is his adaptability--he tailors his coaching style to what clicks best for me. Sometimes I need visuals, sometimes feels, sometimes just numbers. He reads that and adjusts on the fly. He's not just technically sound (he absolutely is), but he's a great communicator and coach. He knows when to push and when to simplify. Since we started, I've not only gotten back to my old form but have hit a new low index. More importantly, I feel confident in my swing and know what to work on between sessions. If you're serious about getting better or are feeling stuck, Anthony's the guy!

He explained the tech and metrics they use to analyze my swing as well as what to expect when we finish the evaluation. Sean has a lot of experience in sports like baseball that he was able to translate into golf and has been doing this for many years. The simulator was very cool and it was awesome to see my strengths and weakness in my swing. I found this very helpful as Im the technical type and very visual. Sean was able to answer all my questions and give demonstrations too. At the end of the lesson I was able to fix my hip and head sway in that was detrimental to my swing and you can actually see the difference between my initial practice swings versus the end of the lesson swings. Definitely a smart way to get better. I find the range is awesome for practice, but the numbers and video records are a game changer for me. Looking to rest up in the coming weeks to get some more lessons with Sean and work on my swing mechanics.

My son enjoys the games they play and especially the prize at the end. The Pokemon card prize give-away keeps him coming back for more. Mr Peter usually has 2-4 junior coaches (or senior, his father) that help out to give individualized coaching. Over time, they work on putting, chipping, using a tee, occasionally driving at the driving range. He has ample golf clubs your kid can borrow and they'll fit you with the right size. He emphasizes safety first, and tries to make the kids laugh. My 5 year old finds him hilarious. The lessons are nearly all year-round. During the summers when he runs the weekday summer camps for the kids, he doesn't have the Saturday sessions. Sunday sessions are all year-round, however. The nice thing about these lessons, is that they're pretty flexible. My son sometimes hurts various parts of his body, sprained foot or ankle, arm pain after his vaccines, and can't make it to the lessons. So, we'll take a break, sometimes for several weeks, but the lessons will still be operating as usual when we are ready to return!

His teaching style is relaxed yet focused, his approach is respectful, and the results have changed my game. You don't have to be a member at LMGC to take lessons from Dan, just call the pro shop and work with them to find a time on his calendar that works for you. The day of your lesson be sure *not* to wear jeans, and show up early to get warmed up on the range before the lesson. Even if the driving range is set up on mats, lessons with Dan are on grass. Crucial, that. Dan's rates are reasonable, and he always gives me a full hour lesson. On Wednesdays and Saturdays he sets up a digital video camera/laptop combination that enables him to do real-time swing analysis during your lesson. If you are a golf geek you'll relish the opportunity to see yourself in super-slow-motion with lines drawn in for swing plane at address, takeaway and impact. At the end of every lesson we review everything and go over the four or five keys to focus on. He always takes time with me to make sure what we covered has sunk in, and will be repeatable when I'm playing or practicing on my own. In addition to lessons on the range he also does walking lessons on the Lake Merced Golf Club course. Most importantly are results: Dan has helped my game immensely, and has been fun to learn from while doing it. When I finally do break 90 this guy is going to get at least half of the credit.

I tried archery here for the first time and had such a fun experience!…read more Booked a surprise archery lesson with Gabi. She was super patient and great at explaining the importance of the safety features and proper posture of archery. The staff overall were super welcoming and took the time to walk us through the basics, which made it really beginner-friendly. They explained safety, helped adjust the equipment, and gave helpful tips on how to improve our aim. The range itself was clean, organized, and well set up, which made the whole experience feel comfortable even for someone who's never done archery before. It was more about grouping the arrows versus trying to hit the bullseye. Definitely a great activity if you're looking for something different to do with friends or family. I'd recommend it whether you're a complete beginner or just want to try something new. Looking forward to coming back and improving my aim!

Overall, a good experience with room for improvement for first-time archers.

So I was searching for some sneakers, and had spotted a solid deal online, in stock, at this store…read more Seemed simple enough. The store was huge, full of merch and pretty much devoid of people. I headed towards the shoe department and spotted the pair I had seen online, although here they were not on sale. I figured I would ask an employee but there was only one working in the vicinity. There was a kiosk that I attempted to use but it did not even show the shoes in stock. I did not have all day to wait but I hung around for a bit longer by the entrance to the shoe stock room and an another employee finally appeared, said 'excuse me' and walked right by me without asking if I needed help. This is probably obvious to others, but if you want to get good service it's best to go to a smaller business! Or even just another large sporting goods store, of which we have several in the Bay. Dicks though, they live up to their name.

The ONLY…read morebright spot was the guy in the shoe department -- he was solid and actually knew how to treat a customer. Everyone else? Completely useless. They sold me a floor model with a broken box, and honestly I only took the shoes because I needed them badly for my recovering stress fracture. Otherwise, I would've walked right out, and here's why: They tried to deny their own promotions, acted annoyed when I pointed out the ad, and only honored the discount after I pushed back. On top of that, the pair was a floor model AND the box was damaged with a piece of hair inside it, and they still tried to charge full price. In the end, I got them to honor the $40 in coupons -- but the attitude, the snobbish vibe, and the lack of basic customer service was ridiculous. Thanks for the kicks, but you won't be getting my business in the future.
