I would give them 10 stars if I could. Here's the story. At noon on Memorial Day I checked out of where I was staying about 5 miles from Livingston Manor, and my car made it less than a mile before it died with the battery light on on the dash. I figured the battery was dead, called AAA, the tow truck guy came and said the alternator was not working at all. Although AAA had told me the nearest AAA approved garage was 40 miles away, the tow guy said that's ridiculous, Manor Motors if 5 miles away and is very good. We called Manor Motors, but there was no answer -- closed for Memorial Day. Google said they open at 7AM on weekdays, so after 6AM the next day I called every 15 minutes, and at 6:45 Cory, one of the two brothers who own it, picked up. I was desperate to get home that day, and I knew it would take time to get the right alternator and then a lot of time to install it. My car is a Lexus, and book time for the installation is 5 hours because there is a lot of disassembly required to get at the alternator. (On my Camry 4 cylinder it barely takes me a half hour to replace it). Cory said sure, have it towed in and I'll do what I can to get it done today, no guarantees. AAA came in under 15 minutes, by 7:40 Manor Motors confirmed it needed a new alternator. I left the car and walked into town for a coffee, when I came back around 8:45 the car was in a bay already partly taken apart. By 1:45 I was on the road on my way home (about a 6 hour highway drive away). The price was less than I would have paid at home for the repair. The best part was throughout everyone was friendly, nice, supportive, warm. It's funny -- the waiting room (which was very comfortable) looked like a movie set for a 1950's garage (pictures below), and the whole atmosphere of competence, honesty, trustworthiness also felt like it was the 1950's. We moved to Livingston Manor in July of 2025. Manor Motors has been our go to for repairs, tires and body work since then. Their work is exceptional, they are kind, courteous and communicate really well. I was surprised to see that they even detailed the interior of my 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander after doing the body work required from a rear end collision. Their prices are reasonable. i went to this mechanic because I thought it was the most trustworthy place in town being I always had my inspection done with no problem. That being said. inspection has a set price said by the state so I can't be changed. My car broke down and I had it towed to the shop and they took over a day to see what was the problem. when I came in to the shop, I told him the transmission light came on stating my transmission was overheating and I also told them there was transmission fluid that came out to a bleeder hole. when they mechanic look at my car that same day they seem no transmission fluid coming from anywhere but they said leave it overnight so we can see what the problem is. I was trying to get my car.the next day and called Corey and was speaking to me in riddles. I would ask him. When is my car ready has my car been seen yet? And he will answer me and was saying he kept telling me call back later call back later several different calls at the last minute. At the last time of the day he says come pick up the car. The car is ready. I get there. He says he doesn't know whether the car is fixed because he can't find the problem charged me $$228 which upset me, but I didn't say nothing and when I asked him what it was for he told me it's because he did that and the other And on top of that told me to take it somewhere else because they are not professionals at fixing transmissions. This was upsetting, but I paid them and went away not satisfied and upset. oh by the way, my car broke down two days later with the same problem.. I will never recommend this mechanic, especially Corey being he was the one who lied to my face and took my money and then he fixed my car so beware!!!!! read more

I had a fluid leak in my Subaru. It was isolated to the drivers side front It could have been several different things, none of which made the car safe to drive. Corey identified it as a transmission line leak where the lines transition from metal to rubber. He was able to cut back the lines and re-flare and re-attach the rubber lines. The repair was done in an hour and a half and required no parts. The cost was low. If I had used the dealer it would have been 4 times as much. read more

Came here to get my front brakes and rotors done before a long trip. Pick up my car next day and when I get home I look at my tires and notice my front rotors are rusty. My brakes that were suppose to also be changed were dull looking. I also noticed one of my nuts on my back tire was broken and my tires are making a funny sound when I drive since I left them. Took my car to my local mechanic to have him check if they were changed and he said neither my rotors or my brakes were changed yet I got charged for it along with $180 in labor. Went back to tell them my brakes and rotors were never changed and it was blamed on a young mechanic. Telling me he put new brakes and rotors on the wrong car and those people left with new parts for free. They gave me a refund because there's no way I was letting them near my car again. When I mentioned the nut and the noise my car was making I was told that I was making things up. I am very aware of what my car looks and sounds like at all times and they definitely did something to it. Can't prove it obviously but I know it wasn't like that before I dropped my car off. I do not recommend this place and will never be bringing my car to them again. Neither will any of my friends and family who do use them. read more
