Took a tour on a busy week day. Everyone was happy and friendly, even the residents in wheelchairs. The concierge Matthew, knew them all, and they knew him. Matthew is s the issue solver. The rooms appear neat, and clean. You would expect that nursing home rumor of the smell!! There was NONE. That you Matthew for the tour. They now like to refer to them as Rehabilitative Care Units, Skilled Nursing Facilities and by a myriad of other more decent sounding names, but whatever name one might call them, they are pretty much the same old Nursing Homes that they've always been. Nursing Homes are not only miserable places in which to be confined, but miserable places to visit too. I can't think of a bigger downer than getting a first hand of how unfortunate so many people are with the health cards that have been dealt or, worse, how unfortunate you may someday also end up. Fortunately I've never been placed in a Nursing Home, though some have raised an argumentative point to the effect that I should in other ways be institutionalized, but I've visited many of these assisting victims of unfortunate circumstances or merely ending up there as a result of having simply grown old. Of all the nursing homes I've visited, including some private homes catering to the wealthy, this Manor Pines is indeed one of the better. It's clean, single floor, all rooms having window views, and many having access to two very pleasant out of door courtyards. It's those court yards that really add a lot, as it is always an uplifting experience for the ill to have the opportunity to be wheeled or somehow assisted out of doors, enjoying the pleasant breezes, getting some sun and having an opportunity to view some of the beautiful nature of Florida. Above all, no nursing home is pleasant and all, particularly within the United States and subject to its medical system, tend to be rather chilling, sobering and easy to fault. It's taken me two years to write this review, but it's about time that I share with the world what this place really is about. The time I had to spend there with my father is something I have tried to put out of my mind, but I hope that maybe my words can help sway someone to not go there or put a loved one in the care of the people that work here. My father was 74 in July 2017 when he was admitted here for "rehab." He had already had some health issues, had taken a fall, ended up in Holy Cross Hospital, and then was put here by the hospital in what we were hoping would help get him back on track. Manor Pines as a whole just has a vibe of...sadness. It is gloomy and old. There are residents milling about mindless in their wheelchairs watching tv or talking to themselves. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Within a week or two, they would call me numerous times to tell me he had gotten out of bed without assistance to use the bathroom and would fall, requiring him to have to stay longer. I begged him more than once to wait till someone came to help, till he finally informed me that sometimes he was left waiting up to 2 hours. This was outraging. He was falling because no one would come help him. I know there are numerous patients at this facility, but two hours?????!!!! Were they purposely making him wait so that he would fall, requiring a longer stay and more money paid to them? Why in the world would this happen? I was assured that it wouldn't happen again. The final straw came when he took a severe fall after ONCE AGAIN, being forced to wait abnormally long for assistance to the bathroom causing him to get up and try to walk himself. He hit his head...hard. They told me he was being transported by ambulance to Holy Cross, so I rushed there as fast as I could and waited....and waited....and waited......till I called Manor Pines saying that he had yet to arrive. Those ignorant people told me the WRONG HOSPITAL! He was at Broward General! By then I was so frustrated I was seeing red. The next day I walked right in to Manor Pines without signing in. I walked past the nurses station with no badge right into my father's room where the TV and bathroom lights were still on. That alone showed me that literally no one cared nor helped him in a timely manner in any way. I grabbed all of his belongings and walked back through the facility and out the front door. Not one person stopped me. My father died on September 10th, 2017. My very best friend and one of the most important people to me died due to the neglect of the employees at Manor Pines. That final fall did him in, and his health only declined from there. I hope that eventually this place gets shut down. They do more harm than good, and based on the other reviews that I see here, they have caused devastation to more than just myself. read more

Manor Pines is a great rehab facility. The entire staff is fantastic. They genuinely care, work together to provide patient support, communicate effectively and are proactive problem solvers. The PT and OT teams are the perfect mix of motivating and kind, they work in partnership to get results! COVID protocols are in place for all staff, PPE, procedures, testing and notification. The RNs and CNAs work together, are knowledgeable and professional. I was concerned upon admittance and am pleased to say I truly feel cared for and supported on my road to rehab. read more

This place gave my father and his husband Covid. They came in from the hospital and a two weeks later they tested positive. Someone in their facility had it and was spreading it around. They also refused to tell me they have been moved and where. When I was trying to locate where my Father was discharged to the operator was not only not helpful, but she was not compassionate about the fact that I was not able to find my Father! This is a horribly run facility. read more

TERRIFIC CARE for my father who's battling Stage IV Pancreatic cancer. After 2 unsuccessful rounds of chemo therapy at UM, he was physically and mentally ruined. He needed urgent rehab. We chose this facility of the 4 local ones and we are so thankful that we went with Manor Pines. Granted we, the entire family, were micro managing the process for three weeks... but we have absolutely nothing negative to say about my father's stay for rehab. PT was very helpful, the meals were adequate and we were blessed with a few AMAZING nurses watching over him 24 hours a day. And he had a courtyard private room with porch access What a well run facility - HIGHLY recommend Manor Pines!! Thank you for giving my father such GREAT care! read more

1 Star for Skilled Nursing and Medical staff. 5 Star for Physical and Occupational therapy staff. My Dad was admitted for Necrotizing Fasciitis (flesh eating disease) on his foot. The facility was supposed to change the bandage daily. At one point they decided to wrap his foot in plastic - probably the worst move and I can only think they did this to avoid getting the sheets dirty (see pic). He was readmitted to the hospital after his hemoglobin dropped so low he needed blood transfusions. Next admit date after the come to Jesus talk with the Administrator, I gave this facility another chance. Second round, my Dad incurred two injuries from the Hoyer lift-see pics. Just this week he was readmitted to the hospital for severe bronchial pneumonia and had to be intubated. Dr. at Manor Pines prescribed Mucinex! If the lawyers didn't always win in law suits, I'd probably have a pretty good case. read more

Manor Pines is a wonderful facility.Very clean,2 outside places to sit & talk w/family &friends,beautiful.Lets talk PT&OT.I has Anise,Rene & Ryan they are amazing,everyone in Therapy work so well together.Then there are the fantastic Nurses & CNA'S from the West Unit,so attentive, so caring,there was a few fantastic ones from the North Unit too.Finally there are the Ladies that run the Show,Eida,Sonja,Patricia,there fantastic, so accommodating,they made my stay there awesome.A big shout out for the outstanding work that everyone there does.Thank you. read more

This used to be a decent rehab facility. In fact most of my family chose it for post surgery physical therapy. I was there a few years back. My Mom was there recently as she had fallen. When she entered this place she was lucid and communicative. She had been living on her own. The staff was so lazy they decided to diaper her so they could avoid assisting her to the bathroom. This resulted in a serious UTI which caused Mom to become confused and incoherent. Unfortunately I was out of town and was not there to see the incredible change. When I did she was hospitalized and eventually died. I blame their laziness, lack of nursing skill and neglect for this tragedy. Stay away from this facility. read more

I have a good friend who is currently ay Manor Pines in Wilton Manors. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. The staff seams friendly and the 2 social workers that I talked with were extremely understanding of my concerns for my friend. I stopped in to see the administrator, Mr. Savett, He gave me his personal extension and said to call him directly with any problems or requests. I had a very good visit, and feel that my friend is in good hands. read more

The care given to my dad has been extraordinary. The nursing staff - CNA, LPN & RN's are top notch. They are very caring and tend to concerns & issues in a timely manner. I had a family member at the building and she had a great experience, she can't stop taking about the place and how the nurses treat her.

It was a great experience, my grand uncle was there and all the nurses payed close attention to him whenever he needed there care. Also the wound he had closed up significantly. I would refer this facility to anyone. read more

The stay for my Dad started out well enough, but the ending was disastrous as Patricia the employee who orders the equipment for patients as they exit their stay at Manor Pines threw everything on my 75 year old Mom to do. She honestly must not have looked why my Dad was there in the first place as she was happy to send my 79 year old Dad with a broken hip with NO wheelchair, yes you heard that correctly. She looked at both my Mom and me straight in the face and told us "He's walking." Ha, ha, he's hopping on the good leg 140 steps is NOT walking. Then when I (being in the healthcare business) question her non-actions she involves her co-worker at the desk next to her and gets her to agree that my "mom is just a complainer and doesn't remember how many times she's been in Patricias office." 1. I don't appreciate the disrespect toward my Mom - my Mom has a better memory than I do at 48 years old. 2. It was unprofessional to involve a co-worker. 3. Don't push your job onto my Mom just because we are willing to work. I got Administrator Jon involved and said " Are you really willing to let my Dad leave here in unsafe conditions without the proper equipment?" He agreed to let my Dad borrow the equipment from the home until my Dad's equipment arrived. I did not like this as I really wanted a wheelchair that would fit through their doors because my Dad can't hop that far yet but after arguing with Patricia to the Necessity of him needing it, I caved in. One day home and my Dad's walker slips on the linoleum... this would not have happened if we had the proper wheelchair to go through the doors!!! I was present and had to call the paramedics again. The physician at Manor Pines is the worst, she changed my Dads meds without telling him or any family members and my Dad and the family were trying to figure out why we was so sick. Then she orders an insulin in a pen and forgets to order the needles for the pen. My Mom called this physician twice and Home Health called once and the doctor never returned ANY of the calls. My Dad went without insulin the ENTIRE weekend and this physician has to order the needles since she ordered the pen. Unbelievable!! I call Jon Aaron the Administrator and leave a detailed message as to what has happened and he does Not return my call but sends me back to the Incompetent Patricia. Way to pass the buck Jon. To top it off the PT had Not been there in 5 days (which is also Patricias job to order). My parents have still Not received the wheelchair after two weeks and have a bunch of unusable insulin in their refrigerator that they can't use because the doctor will not call us back. I've never experienced so much incompetence and apathy on Patricias and the physicians part in my life. Walk, No RUN from this establishment. read more

I was there as caregiver for a 91 years old man. He is a big man about 250 pounds, unable to walk or stand, needing to move frequently from bed to chair to feel a little more comfortable. The nurse assistant always came to help me to move him, but the right thing to do was to use a lift for him and we hold him in our arms. I have asked for all staff, even RN, to get the lift for him. Still they do not provide. The excuses went from "he is too heavy for the lift" to "he is not supposed to leave the bed night time". And it shows that they have good will but very little professionalism. In the end of the day the bedroom was always dirty, At night cockroaches walking in the corridors made me think about the kitchen, I saw the flyers they have for visitants and I was wandering where was that wonderful place they have pictured there... read more

Caregiver beware. My father was admitted to Manor Pines for orthopedic rehabilitation following surgery for a fractured hip. At 94 years old, he came out of the surgery bewildered, feeling a good deal of pain, but aware of his condition and surroundings. I began to realize Manor Pines was interested in only one thing - to keep him there for rehabilitation to insure they got the insurance payment. His physical and mental condition was viewed as a nuisance. His attending physician did not see him until nine days after he was admitted, despite frequent requests by me for this to happen. Meanwhile I found out this doctor was writing orders for him the whole time. I found the section nurses to be good, but the place is way understaffed, with many of the assistants poorly trained. The only time the senior people moved quickly was when it was apparent my father was failing and they wanted to move him to a hospital ASAP - in order to not have a death on their records. This was the day after the attending physician finally saw my father and reported he seemed to be doing "okay". My father passed away in the emergency room at the hospital minutes after arriving there. Please, for the patient and your own good, stay away from this poorly managed and run establishment. read more

My Mom has been in this facility's 24 hr. care for more than 4 years. I am greatly satisfied with the utmost responsible staff--from the dietary to the nurses. All of the caring employees of this facility go above and beyond to assure each resident continual support, comfort and medical attention. When my Mom entered this facility due to mental/medical conditions, she was depressed, extremely ill and , of course , saddened that her life was changing so drastically. In these past 4 + years, she is happy, on a nutritional and appealing diet, has many friends and is constantly busy throughout the day. I can sleep at night and know that she is under the best-of-the-best supervision for her comfort and well-being. I would--and do-recommend Manor Pines Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to anyone in the situation that it might become necessary for medical supervision. I am so deeply impressed and grateful to all the staff. read more
