The physiotherapists are excellent, professional, and knowledgeable, and I truly believe that their level of care and attention helps patients heal and improve faster. They have a state-of-the-art clubhouse that has ping pong tables , a theater and a gym The apartments themselves are very large 900 square feet and all of them have a balcony. The balconies look out on the trees including the pool for some and the lake for others. The only negative in the two units we saw were the kitchens, which are outdated. Two meals a day are provided so I was not as concerned about the kitchen. Mom and I had dinner in their dining room and I have to say the food was very good. They have a regular menu and then an alternate menu that you can choose from daily. There are four course dinners available if you want to eat a lot. My mom will be moving in next week. Head nurse ignored instructions & boundaries during "evaluation" (which wasn't an evaluation at all) and caused all kinds of drama at the current facility. The same head nurse refused to honor the price quoted to me the DAY before moving in. Caused lots of havoc and consider the place untrustworthy like so many assisted living facilities.

They've also been exceptionally competent throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic. The facility is always kept spotless and they adhere to strict precautions to ensure the utmost safety for the residents and staff. My mom has been there since February 2020 so I saw their care before and during Covid, I have had no complaints whatsoever! Even though families couldn't visit in person for a long time, they made sure to keep the residents engaged and busy all day, every day! They have had fun events like a Chili Cook off, celebrations of National Pretzel Day, National Chocolate Day, National Lemonade Day and plenty of other fun things to entertain the folks living there! They always go the extra mile to decorate and provide photo-ops to make it a lot of fun for all involved and so family's can see their loved ones enjoying themselves! She has made friends with everyone there especially the employees. She is a very outgoing person so being there gives her a lot of opportunities to talk to people. The staff shows her love and is always happy to see her. What I like about Artis is Terri, Miriam, Lily, Marthe, Anna and many others are there for the family members also. They will listen to any concerns that you have. I get sent pictures and messages about my mom and how she is doing. Which helps a lot since I live in Miami. I love how all the staff is trained how to deal with people with memory issues. You are free to visit at any time and you can also take them out for the day or for an hour. CNA's are overworked with too many patients and mostly the place is understaffed to attend the elderly there.There are a handful that really care and do the best they can. Many do not speak or understand English clearly enough. Very poor management for the most important section. The Ugly: The new administration is cold, uncaring and interested in profit only.They do not care about you or your elderly. Just remember that. You will have frequent rent increases. If I had to do it again, would I place my parent there? Absolutely no and if your parent is in need of care, think about it twice.
